Super good orange chicken. I totally think this place is underrated. Not very appealing to the eye, but definitely good food.

That might be not the best Chinese food you had but is definitely one of the best places to go to eat Chinese food in my opinion. I just wish they had a bigger place to eat over there and bring friends over.

This was the dirtiest Chinese food I have ever had. Everything tastes like week old grease. Save your money.

Would give 0 stars but have to give at least 1. Worst Chinese food experience. Was lazy and did the drive the extra mile to my normal Chinese spot. 1st the portions suck. The chicken didn’t even fill entrée part of the box. 2nd the chicken was over cooked and over breaded. 3rd the taste is horrible. 4th the so called fried rice is totally not fried rice, it’s rice with hints of something that looks like egg. 5th back to taste, orange peel should have a little spice to it, but nothing there, just some corn syrup taste. I recommend NEVERGOHERE for your Chinese food. I know people like to stay local but this place is not it.

As of March 2016 are only 3 options in the PB/LJ are for Chinese Food(Mandarin House and China Chef are others) and the only Chinese place in PB. Super Wok is the only Chinese place I patronize. It’s mainly take out as the 3 tables in the place are mostly for people waiting for food. The food is more geared for the population, so typical Mandarin Chinese-American menu. But it’s always cooked to order, good ingredients and pretty tasty. Nothing really spicy, I wish they would use chow fun noodles though, their sales would probably go up. They get pretty busy as it’s the only Chinese place in PB. You should really call in the order, and when you do if she says 30 minutes when you order it’s really about 40 minutes. Nothing particularly stands out but none of the dishes we’ve ordered has been disappointing. We find ourselves ordering the pork fried rice a lot, the snow peas/water chestnuts, wor wonton(mainly my daughter) and any of the beef dishes. So much stuff on the menu though that it will take a while to get through it.

Their lunch special prices are awesome, we got the sesame chicken lunch special for only $ 6.05 plus tax. The texture of the sesame chicken was crunchy and sweet with sesame seeds rolled into it. Their fried rice was basically rice and eggs which was a side. It also came with an egg roll however there seemed to only be cabbage in it which I could have gone without. Also tried the beef chow mein which was tasty as well. We got the regular portion as lunch special still comes with fried rice and egg roll with the chow mein. I definitely will try other menu items.

This is the worst service I have ever experienced. I ordered the garlic crispy beef and basically received candy on a stick. There is no beef, there is no garlic… the whole place is smokey from them burning peoples food… I called to politely explain how this was not what I expected when ordering dinner and she did not care and proceeded to tell me that is should taste like candy… maybe you should have a separate section for dessert. Only benefit is that it was cheep however, I could make better Chinese food and thats not saying much.

My boss always buys our office food from here and it’s amazing ! They have 3 parking spaces for the restaurant and it’s a small place but it’s owned by an older couple so give them a break of why they aren’t open on Sunday’s and Monday’s. Their food is amazing ! & they have a variety of plates.

Extremely disappointed to have wasted my money here. Hot & Sour Soup sounded perfect to me yesterday since it was so chilly out, so I Unilocaled this place and decided to order pick up. I saw the handful of bad reviews but thought, «How can you mess up soup?» I ordered that(a small serves 2) and the Kung Pao Tofu lunch special. The food was hot but everything else was horrible. The soup was way too sweet and the lunch special was very lackluster. The fried rice was literally just rice and egg(as another Unilocaler mentioned) and the tofu was fried and extremely dry, very little sauce, and not spicy. The best thing about my meal were the mushrooms. Huge disappointment and will not be coming back.

Very impressed with this hole in the wall on the corner of Ingraham and Garnet. If you cant find it(my girlfriend had some trouble her first time picking up take out from here) it is just to the left of the gas station. Mongolian beef and crispy chicken with garlic sauce were winners. Ready in less than 20 minutes and perfect to pick up on the way home from work or whenever you want something quick and easy.

I have to say I really enjoy getting take out from this place. I’ve been going now for almost 10 years since I moved to PB. I’m a big fan of the Moo goo gain pan, lo mein, Mongolian beef, and their soups(wor wonton & hot and sour). I usually order the same dishes because I love them every time! It bothers me when people give this place poor reviews because their fucking orange chicken doesn’t taste like Panda Express or whatever(I’m imagining these people making a face and sounds a whiney 5 year old makes when they don’t get candy). First of all, expand your pallet and try other dishes that have other things called«vegetables». You’d be surprised how well they go with Chinese food. Personally, I don’t have the pallet of a 5 year old. Don’t put down this small business ran by hard working people, who do a great job of filling the Chinese food void in Pacific Beach. China Inn was ok, a bit over over priced, and they made their lo mein with skinny spaghetti type noodles. Naaaw man! With that said, I’m putting in an order right now ;)

I have mixed feelings about this place. Super wok is now PB’s only option for non-chain Chinese food. And it is just alright. They don’t deliver, they aren’t open on Sundays and Mondays — and for some reason these are the days I want Chinese food the most, but the are close to home and the food gets the job done. My boyfriend loves their orange chicken and I like it too. Be warned, though. This isn’t your typical orange chicken. It is very thin pieces of chicken that are fried to be very crispy. The sauce has a lot of honey or sugar in it, so it is a good balance of sweet and spicy. It is different, but I like it for that reason. The house chow– and lo– meins are decent, too, but extremely oily. We don’t really stray from ordering those two dishes. I feel like this isn’t the place to go when you want to try something new. If you order something from Super Wok and it tastes alright, stick with it!

Best Take-out Chinese Ive had in SD. Definately a to-go spot though. Try the Chicken Chow Mein or Mongolian Beef!

Meh. I only have an hour lunch break, wanted egg rolls, and didn’t know where else to go. First, the veggie egg rolls only have cabbage in them. Very small for $ 2.50. Second, the friend rice is just rice with egg. The shrimp chow main wasn’t terrible, and they clean the shrimp with is a star. It seems a bit pricey for the quality. By the time I got to the bottom of my dish there was A LOT of grease.

I live in San Diego but not the Mission or PB area. My mom gets a condo for a week on Mission Bay a few times a year and I stay with her. Feeling like Chinese Food I went on Unilocal and found this place. We wanted a place to deliver but our options were extremely limited so I figured we would try this place and just drive there to pick it up. We were pleasantly surprised with our food. I wasn’t expecting luxury high end but I also didn’t want overly greasy/oily food. It was just what we wanted. Hot & Sour soup was great, pot stickers were great and the shrimp and broccoli was excellent. It’s a hole in the wall with basically zero seating inside, but it’s perfect for a quick fix when you’re in the mood for Chinese food to go. Price is very reasonable too.

Been here 3 times so far. The first was a fluke, I was doing my laundry and needed food. I have gotten the crispy chicken, chicken chow mien, Mongolian beef, broccoli beef and chicken with snow peas so far. You get a lot of food for the price. The best part about this place is you can request not to have MSG added. I get terribly migraines from it so it makes it hard for me to find a Chinese place where I can eat. The flavors are not amazing but this is a solid takeout place with good food. And who doesn’t need a few takeout places for after a long day at work where you don’t want to come home to cook?

I wanted to like this place and be able to support a local, small business run by hard working people, but it was terrible. The orange chicken was so over cooked that the deep fried coating was burnt(dry and hard). There was almost no flavor in the sauce other than a little bit of thick, burnt mollases-like substances. Not sweet, spicy or citrus-y. The chicken rice bowl was cooked fine; broccoli was fresh; overall bowl wasn’t flavorful. The pork noodle bowl seemed more like beef. Also overcooked but not nearly as overdone as the orange chicken. Noodles were cooked fine. Flavor was fine, I have had better(and worse). White rice was cooked well. Nice and sticky. The wait for pick up was twice as long as they estimated, so perhaps this was an unexpected rush resulting in long waits and sub par food.

FINALLY! Every once in awhile, I drive by this little hole-in-the-wall to check and see if it’s open… the other day, it was! And I’ve gone twice in the last week. So glad there is a Chinese food option(totally different than Thai or Japanese) and this definitely satisfies the craving. However, it isn’t healthy. ATALL. Grease galore! But that’s what I’m expecting and I’m 100% ok with that. Go for the chicken chow mein. Regular, not lunch size… the lunch size comes with a lot of rice with bits of egg and a mini egg roll– both of which are inedible. Stick to the full size!
