Suncrest Solar

Even though I am only midway through the installation of my solar system from Suncrest Solar, I felt I must write this entirely positive review of the company and its employees! I have been dealing with Mr. Trent Childs since the beginning; he has been OUTSTANDING in his attention to detail, his kindness, and his speedy resolution of any questions, etc. Today Steven and Edgar spent the entire day upgrading my electrical system and coordinating with SDG&E so that the final connection could proceed. Steven made it possible for me to accomplish my day’s goals by keeping in touch with me as to the progress of the work being done and the time I needed to return home. I give Suncrest Solar my highest recommendation!

It was the summer of 2015 when I first heard about this company and their program through my cousin. He stated that it would not cost me a single cent to actually have a complete solar system on my roof — to my disbelief I put it off until my cousin approach me two months later. I finally decided to call The Sales Rep Travis Jones, he was very courteous and I felt no sales pressure — I decided to schedule an appointment. On the day of the appointment Travis was on time which was a good start. He explained how solar works, how it impacts the community /​environment/​consumer, but most of all he explained the company and its programs. Travis was so chill that my wife and I did not feel pressured the whole time, not to mention the presentation and signing took less than an hour! Suncrest /​Travis made this big decision seem like a very simplistic process.
The installation process was very smooth but I wish we could of gone live sooner. The reality of it all is that Suncrest is at the mercy of the city to pull permits and with the local electricity provider for inspections. I bet if Suncrest had complete control over these areas it would be done a lot quicker. It’s been about two months since I’ve gone live and the savings could not have been any better. It’s really nice to know that we are actually doing our part plus pocketing our hard earned money.
I highly recommend Suncrest /​Travis (801) 573‑2417 (tell ‘em I sent ya) to ALL my friends and family. To honest, I think this is the only contract I signed that helps you keep your money in the bank.

I just want to give Travis and Mike a shout out for their excellent service!!! They explained how getting solar will NOT cost me a penny, providing me a service that will lower my electric bill… sweet. I know it’s hard to believe but it’s true! This is a no-​brainer, a MUST HAVE!!! From point A to Z process was smooth, couldn’t ask for anything better. Received my first bill last month and excited to tell you that I went from over $ 180 to under $ 50. Thank you Suncrest!!!

These guys are THE BOMB !!! At NO COST, they helped me get solar to start saving on my electric bill !!! I was serviced by Travis and Mike, both of whom were super nice, professional, and knowledgeable about how solar works and how it could save you a TON of money !!! The process was surprisingly easy as I really didn’t have to do much except make myself available for the day of installation. Now I’m pocketing $$$ without worrying about my electric bill skyrocketing, especially during the HOT summer and COLD winter months !!! If you own a home and want to seriously start SAVING on your electric bill, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going solar through these guys at SUNCREST !!!

I am saving since using a solar system. However, they still need to work on a system to show their customers what percentage they are using from the solar system. An easy way to track your usage so you don’t go over and have to pay your electric company, anything, at the end of the year. Once you use 100% of your solar power, you start using your electric company’s power. It would be nice to know if we cross over.

I would actually give Suncrest 4 ½ stars.
I’ve had my Suncrest system fully installed for 3 months now, and I’m seeing more and more savings every month as the sun gets stronger (and it’s still only spring!). My rep. Skyler Thomas has been a great help throughout the process, and more than willing to answer (or find someone who can) all the questions I have.
The company has been 100% honest to their word throughout the process — no hidden charges or «gotchas.»
My only reason for taking ½ a star off is that the time from signing the contract to getting online took longer than expected due in part to some delays with Suncrest/​Sunnova (they had to reschedule our inspection and come out to do minor installation things several times, when it really should have taken 1 – 2 trips total) and some delays with SDGE.
That said, everything was done very well in the end and now that we’re up and running, we’re happy campers!

Our Suncrest representative Jonathan S. explained to us the energy program we could be a part of by getting free solar panels which would mitigate our present electric bills. In reviewing the contract he had told us just the way it was and we are currently making arrangements to install solar in 3 of our homes. Thank you Jonathan S. and Suncrest!

Just wanted to say Thank you to Carlos and his team for putting up our solar they did an outstanding and excellent job. and To Travis our sales rep for being patient with us while we put him through an interrogation and answering our questions promptly. We were so pleased we chose Suncrest for our conversion to solar. Lindsay and Skyler were professional, providing information and responding to our questions and concerns in a prompt manner throughout the entire process. Carlos’s team was a «top notch» installation team and Matt did a thorough inspection to make sure we were ready for SDGE. We would highly recommend Suncrest to anyone considering solar.

I just want to say what an amazing team from Suncrest Solar we have had from our Rep Danny, all that have came to do our pre install inspections & to our solar panel installation/​electrician crew George, Ronny, Thomas, Aaron, & Chris!!! They have all been so nice, friendly, informative, & most importantly upfront & honest!!! Tomorrow will be our panel upgrade & have no doubt that service will remain the same! Our sales person from Suncrest Aaron Wolfenbarger was a joy to work with. We had working with another company that was not very communicative as we tried to get solar on our house. Suncrest came along and offered us a better deal and much better service. We couldn’t be happier with the service and the job that they did. Aaron Wolfenbarger and Suncrest kept us in the loop the entire time as we worked through dealing with SDG & E and any issues trying to get the power turned on. We turn it all on tomorrow!

Meet with Patrick he was professional and knew answers to all our quiestions. We have not started solar with this company yet but we are please and looking into our options!

These guys are great. So professional. Matt Stockton came by our house and explained all the programs with ease and answered all our questions. We are so happy to be getting solar on our home.

Suncrest Solar is the best solar company to go with by far! My sales person who came to my door was Travis Jones, the Sales Director, and immediately I wanted to listen to his presentation because of his energy and persona. He did not bring a «sales pitch» but rather information that I truly could use in regards to my energy savings. Travis was so patient with me and my family as it took a few months to get my dad on board (because he is old school). But once we were able to set up a meet with my family and Travis, my dad was a go!
And during installation, a few things happened but were immediately taken cared of. A few roof tiles were broken but replaced and repaired. Also one of our sprinkler heads were broken with all the footwork during installation. They sent a guy out (can’t remember his name) and he not only fixed and replaced the broken sprinkler head but he also noticed another sprinkler head on our front lawn wasn’t working right so he went out of his way to replace that one too. What a wonderful surprise!
The staff were all completely professional and a delight during the installation process. Travis also continues to make frequent visits to make sure we are happy and satisfied with everything. Travis is also immediately reachable when we have questions.
Best customer service by far!

We have been on the fence about getting solar, our sales consultant Trent C explained everything in detail and answered all of our questions/​concerns we had. We decided to «bite the bullet» and ordered the service.
Suncrest Solar is excellent at communication and lets you know every step that is happening.
We just had the panels installed today by Carlos and his team, all of which were extremely professional and hard workers. They showed up at 7:30 and continued all day until the job was completed, kudos to those guys working in 90+ weather!

Suncrest blew all the other solar companies away. The big names said we wouldn’t produce enough power to qualify for their programs. We have a ton of pine trees around our property — Yet Suncrest came through. Chad was our rep, great guy, very knowledgeable. He told us what to expect and what the timeline would be and it was exactly that.
I’ve dealt with a lot of companies over the years and Suncrest has the absolute BEST customer service I’ve come across. Every single person from Sarah in Customer Service/​Scheduling to Ryan, Ian and Matt who helped with service panels, painting, and stucco. A shout out to the two people who put the panels on the roof.
The only problem child in the entire process was the city who no-​showed twice for inspections. Suncrest worked with them to get them back out as soon as possible. Every step of the way, and every single person we spoke to or met was professional, courteous, informative and very respectful of our time and property. Thank you Suncrest! We are in San Diego, and I highly recommend them.

Our entire experience with Suncrest Solar was great. We had considered going solar, but always figured it would be too expensive. Not the case. Suncrest solar approached us, showed us the numbers. Our conversion to solar cost us nothing. We have a 2 story, 5 bedroom house with 4 people living here. I believe our high energy bills are what qualified us for this program. We are so incredibly happy with this service, we recommended it to all of our neighbors.
Also: I know every house is different, but at our house, you can’t see ANY of the solar panels on our roof from any angle you look at it. It’s wonderful!!!

These people are the BOMB DOT COM!!! I kid you not! They are prompt, friendly courteous but also have the best customer service of any company I’ve dealt with! They really take care of you! They have never been late, and keep you informed. I had some issues the company had never come across before and they had their special team take care of it with SDGE overseeing it and got it all taken care of. Suncrest sent out 2 of their best, Kenny G and George B took care of me with their expertise and concrete cutting! (Not to mention Kenny’s humor haha) (George also hooked me up with some gardening tips!!)
Suncrest has been in contact with me constantly, Mindie W. She has been working so hard with sdge to figure out all of the issues.
Raymond and Sheek has done a great job with the inspection, they even jumped in my attick that was 110°, no problem. Everyone all the way around has done a fantastic job!
Tre has done a great job showing up to make sure everyone was doing a solid job and following code.
To potential solar customers, go with this company. Peace of mind is definitely worth it. They really do take care of you!!!

On their sales side they get a 1. I’ve been visited twice at my door after 7pm by two different reps which means they 1) are overly annoyingly aggressive 2) don’t communicate what rep has what sales area or 3) Cycle through sales reps often and don’t care if they annoy the community.
Here’s how their door-​to-​door pitch goes… they go to house A and talk with Bill (for example), doesn’t matter if Bill signs up they have Bill’s name and address. They then go to house B and say «hi we’re currently helping your neighbor Bill at ABC lane to get solar (easy info to obtain to gain your trust)» They then go on and on and on without providing you as much as a handout about pricing or about their company (they wouldn’t want to lock themselves into anything) while hard selling you to give them a copy of your utility bill and/​or electric meter. Asked why they go door to door, «we really have to talk to each person to get their customizable quote» come on, what a joke!
It’s 2015, market & sell w/​o driving everyone nuts door-​to-​door. Do some research, online advertising, prospecting, mailing, etc. Imagine if every company used the «we have to speak with you in person» or «we have to customize this to your house» approach. You’d be inundated with Garage Door, AC, Heat, Plumbing, Painting, Landscaping, Vacuum, Dishwasher, Refrigerator Salesmen etc. You’d have a solicitor EVERY DAY!
If they have a sales model from 1980 how can I trust that they will do a good job with my house?
