Specializing in teaching beginner to intermediate drum students of all ages. We take a fun, technique driven approach that incorporates playing on a kit in the first lesson!

Rock, funk, soul or learn your favorite songs!

Video lessons are available to each student for each lesson as a review of what was learned.

Additional video recordings are available to students who would like to see how their progress is coming along.

Each lesson is taught in a professional studio environment. The student plays a kit while the instructor teaches and demonstrates from his own kit.

I have played and taught for many years dating back to the mid-90’s. This year I have decided to take my passion to the professional level.

Meet the Business Owner

Matthew M.

Business Owner

I arrived in San Diego in 2000 to attend law school. While in law school, I began my career in music as both a manager and performer. A change in priorities occurred.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, I moved to San Diego by way of Florida.

As a kid, I became mesmerized by music. My father would play 45’s on the console record player most evenings… Anita Franklin, James Brown, The Supremes, Dire Straits, Marvin Gaye… it always captured me and set the tone for a very cool household. Playing music from then on was my goal.

My first instrument was the saxophone in the fourth grade. I began playing the guitar in the mid-​90s and started my focus on the drums just a few years ago.

After teaching a friend some drum beats and watching him become a full-​fledged drummer in a band, teaching music from then on was also my goal.

With patience and a knack to get results with my students, I thrive on facilitating success for my students as they measure it!
