Stephen got his start by making creative marketing films for Bumble and Bumble in New York City. Most of that time was spent editing short films of photo shoots, and shooting video for live events (like New York Fashion Week) for the company. It was also the first time he picked up a camera. Inspired by the talented photographers around him, Stephen learned to master DSLR video. Upon moving to California in 2009 he began editing wedding films for a local company and soon after, he found a full time position at a national cable channel. As the Director of Broadcast Promotions he made commercials and promos for television shows for over two years. During that time, he also shot wedding films on weekends.

With hundreds of commercials to his credit and several Emmy® Awards to show for it he started his own business. Stephen Alberts Videography has been a dream of his for a long time and it continues to evolve. Business videos, promos, and wedding films are his specialty.

Stephen Alberts is an incredible videographer! We wanted high quality raw footage that we could later place into an edited wedding video (when we someday have more money) and Stephen shot gorgeous raw footage. He also edits amazing videos if you have a bigger videography budget than we do… and want the full superstar experience. After seeing samples of his work, my husband and I knew that we could trust Stephen to just «do his thing» so we gave him our schedule of events and asked him to video the components that made the most sense to him and the video looks gorgeous.
Because his camera looks a little unconventional, many of our guests thought he was one of the photographers so we also have some hilarious clips.
And, our photographer loved working with Stephen. Stephen knows how to get the footage he needs to make your day memorable with you and your photographer barely noticing him throughout the day.
We were so grateful for both Stephen’s calm confidence in the work he produces and the footage we received. My husband and I (and all of our guests who have seen the footage) absolutely love his work and highly recommend him! He is soooo worth it and he was by far and away one of our favorite vendors at our wedding.

I hired Stephen for our August 2014 wedding many months before our big day. I had found his work online and found it far superior to any other wedding videographer in San Diego whose work I had viewed and knew I had to secure him immediately for our date. Many of the «top companies» have an aesthetic that I was not looking for — I didn’t want a «cheesy wedding video»! I wanted an artistic, candid movie set to music of our choosing.
After talking and meeting with Stephen, I knew it would be a good fit. He worked with me to customize a package to fit our needs and budget, which I appreciated. He was also extremely timely in his responses to emails. On the day of the wedding, he showed up right on time and got right to work. Him and his 2nd shooter worked tirelessly (but never got in the way of anything!) to capture all of the pivotal moments as well as some unexpected candid footage as well. They were polite, professional, and discreet.
It took a few months to get the final product (which we knew about going into it via the contract and is pretty standard, so nothing out of the ordinary), so the anticipation was building — I was so excited to see what he put together! The end result was an awesome portrayal of our day and we will treasure the footage of the ceremony and toasts, as well as the edited to music short film, forever. Ironically, my husband was NOT interested in having a videographer but it was a top priority for myself so I ended up convincing him. After seeing the end product, even he admits he was wrong and that a videographer is a MUST HAVE!!! Photography is wonderful but doesn’t always tell the whole story — invest in both! They are the only thing that you have to cherish and remember after the big day (along with the memories and your new spouse!). Stephen was also very flexible in not only sending me the final footage via the internet and a thumb drive, but also creating Blu Ray discs for us and our parents to watch on different devices. Hiring STEPHEN ALBERTS was simply one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day!!! Stephen captured our wedding on June 21, 2014 in Coronado, CA. If his 4 time Emmy Award winning status, does not speak volumes already, then let me tell you about our positive experience working with him.
We found Stephen online and were impressed by his diverse experience in the industry, quality of his work, credentials, the user friendly website — easy to navigate and find packages, pricing, etc.
Communication with Stephen was a breeze! From setting up our initial meeting, establishing a contract, asking for assistance with our wedding day timeline and receiving the end product of the footage of our wedding day. We appreciated Stephen’s prompt responses to our inquiries. Everything was executed via e-​mail between our inital & pre-​wedding meetings. How sweet and simple!
We were amazed with how he fully captured every moment our of wedding day, without even being seen!!! Watching the footage, felt like we were reliving the excitement and happiness all over again. I still can’t stop watching the video :-)
As a bride and groom, it is impossible to be every where at every moment with everyone, on your wedding day. So we were delighted to see so many candid moments (happy, emotional, funny) and things we didn’t even know happened, which Stephen caught throughout the day and evening.

Stephen Alberts can be described in one word AMAZING.
He captured my wedding on October 26th, 2013. I initially hired Stephen because my father-​in-​law couldn’t make it to our wedding to San Diego. I’m so glad Stephen was part of our big day. It’s worth every penny, nickle, and dime. His work is beautiful and he does an amazing job with the edits.

Absolutely AMAZING work and great set of guys to work with. We looked at HUNDREDS of videographers and fell in love with their previous work. The result of our wedding video surpassed our expectations.
Stephen is so wonderful to work with. He went the extra mile to work with my husband and I in fitting us into their busy schedule.
Carlos and Josh worked our wedding in September and I’m blown away at how well they documented precious moments of our special day.

We chose Stephen because we felt like we were getting a total steal for what he offered for our needs. He stuck with with us for nearly 14 hours and didn’t miss any important shots. He is skilled and a true professional and his work is backed up by his golden Emmy’s. You’ll see them when you step into his office. We were really late to hire Stephen, originally, we didn’t even want a videographer at our wedding but since we had some family that couldnt come, we changed our mind and tried to find one. To be honest, we went with the best rated videographers and they were all booked, so we found Stephen on Unilocal,not a whole lot of reviews but they were all good.
We met Stephen at a Starbucks and he seemed motivated, smiling and the few films we saw were good. We also found out he already won a couple of Emmys!
On our wedding day, they showed up on time and I was very surprised with the amount of material they had, I was seriously in a ‘wow’ state lol. They were in control so I didn’t take care of them and they were always here but discreet.
We had to wait a couple more weeks than expected but Stephen was always fast to reply and gave me the heads up, so even though we were impatient — it was well worth it. I’m usually not emotional but the editing and the highlight movie was just amazing …

What can I say about Stephen that hasn’t already been said? He is truly a professional and the high caliber of his work proves how much passion and creativity he puts into every project. He possesses a unique talent of capturing all the small and fleeting moments and weaving them seamlessly into an extraordinary and indelible experience.
I admit that when my husband and I first started planning, we weren’t even thinking of a videographer. Both of us tend to get really shy and awkward in front of a camera. But everyone we spoke with said we would regret it in the end if we didn’t have our wedding filmed. So, with less than 2 months before the big day, we started looking and were so fortunate to find Stephen. Right from the get go, we were impressed with the films on his website. And c’mon, he’s got an Emmy! I was able to schedule a meeting right away and in the first 5 minutes of meeting, I already felt comfortable and at ease with him.
On our wedding day, Stephen brought along Carlos, a second shooter and we’re so glad he did. Because our photographer was doing most of the staging for pictures, Stephen and Carlos pretty much melted into the background and for almost the entire ceremony and reception, I forgot they were there!
We just got our highlight film and can’t stop watching it! It totally went far beyond any expectation we had and captured all the emotion and excitement of the day. Stephen did such an incredible job of having the music and footage work together to make every moment that much more special. Everyone who has watched our film has turned into the biggest crybaby!
Our wedding day was over before we knew it but now, thanks to Stephen, we have something to help us re-​live and remember all the wonderful moments from that day. You will definitely not regret choosing Stephen to film one of the most important events in your life.

We chose Stephen Alberts Wedding Films to shoot the highlight video for our February 23, 2013 wedding in Carlsbad, CA. After extensively researching videographers we met with Stephen Alberts. Immediately we were impressed with his portfolio of video/​editing work (which is Emmy award winning, by the way!) and the story and passion behind his shooting wedding videos. He answered all our questions regarding equipment, day of set-​up and how he would be sure to get the best angles at the wedding.
After selecting Stephen to shoot our wedding, he was in communication with us every step of the way (which is important when you’re working to coordinate so many things for a DIY 130 person wedding). Closer to the date Stephen even arranged for a second videographer, Carlos, to film at the wedding which ended up being such a great decision because it allowed to film both the guys and the girls getting ready separately. Major plus.
When it came to the day of, both Stephen and Carlos were awesome — so professional and most of all, they filmed totally incognito which helped to capture all the little moments that might not have happened had we been aware a camera was there.
Now that we’ve just seen our highlight film we just had to write a positive review. We received so many compliments about the video that people were brought to tears! wow. Many even commented on how he so perfectly set action scenes to the lyrics of the songs that accompanied the video — now that’s an eye for detail!
So, if there are couples out there looking to immortalize their wedding moments, choose Stephen Alberts to film your wedding. We’re so glad we did!

After having some troublesome experiences with other videographers, I nearly gave up. I found Stephen through Unilocal and I almost overlooked him since he didn’t have as many reviews on his page as other videographers — so I’m making sure to contribute!
Stephen is AMAZING! He is so accomodating, professional and the quality of his work is unrivaled! You definitely won’t get the same video as another client, and he is reasonably priced. He did an amazing job on our engagement videos and I’m looking forward to working with him on our wedding videos!

We just got our video from Stephen from our Dec wedding, and we could not be more pleased. The quality of the video, and his style of shooting was just beautiful.
Even the raw footage was amazing! I didn’t even see Stephen until the end of the night, he was so good at fitting in and stealing candid moments you didn’t even notice.
I didn’t even feel like I attended my own wedding until seeing the video :-) He was great, and very reasonable packages too!

Where do I begin. I knew as soon as I got engaged — the most important part was the photographer and videographer.
Stephen is amazing he is so nice to work with and very flexible with meeting times and answering my questions.
The highlight video we got was better than I could of imagined all my friends say it feels like to them they are watching a movie, mother in law cries every time she watches it. We haven’t even received the DVD and have watched the video online at least 10 times.
You would think it would be awkward having a video camera and photographers running about, but they were so sneaky I honestly forgot they were there and not sure how they got such amazing shots!
You will get your money’s worth and some. Stephen is a must have!

Just saw the video Stephen made of our son’s wedding. It was the best wedding video I have ever seen and I’m not just saying that because it was of two people I adore. Instead of some literal step by step replaying of the wedding, he edited in all the precious moments and all the candid things your eyes might have missed. It captured all the love and happiness of everyone present in a short period of time. Normally I run when people bring out the wedding videos but this was touching and sweet and not too long. I will love watching it again and again. If I could give more stars I would!!!

A little background, my wife and I where reluctant to get a videographer. We get really uncomfortable when cameras are around and we weren’t sure if we would ever watch a wedding video… One week before our wedding we decided we it would be a good idea to capture our ceremony and toasts on film. Our fabulous coordinator (Krystel at Couture Events) was able to find us Stephen at the last minute and within our budget. We got so lucky! He did such an amazing job. I don’t know how he was able to capture all the things he did, it was like he was never there.
Amazing, wonderful, fantastic, beautiful, emotional are just a few of the words I use to describe our wedding highlight video Stephen created for us. He is a definite must have for a wedding.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Stephen not once, but twice. The first time was for a video for the salon I work at. We wanted a video to showcase what inspires us and how we translate said inspiration onto hair. Stephen was incredibly professional and easy to work with. The finished product was in one word– AMAZING.
The second time I needed some photos done to be used on a website. Again, Stephen came to my rescue and delivered some amazing pictures all while being incredibly friendly and easy-​going.
