THE best ice cream. Seriously.
It’s creamy and rich and their flavors are just amazing. You’d think vanilla would be kind of boring, right? Oh, no. Not Sonny’s vanilla. It’s like vanilla on steroids. Sooo good. Their basic flavors are a (big, giant) step up from ordinary.
Then…then, they go and make flavors like Mexican Chocolate and Strawberry Balsamic… and you realize that you’re now hooked on their ice cream :) Really. Just try it and then try to NOT think about it.
You can’t. And you really shouldn’t. Just do yourself a huge favor and get some. ‘Tis good.

Most who know me know ice cream is my weakness. Sonny’s Scoop Shoppe ice cream passes every test. The basic and unique favors are equally delicious. The texture is smooth and creamy. A good ice cream is just as good when it melts as it is when it is frozen. Sonny’s would be as good to drink as to enjoy melting in your mouth. Being partial to chocolate, I love the Chocolate Peanut Butter, Mexican Chocolate and Rocky Road. But, favors like the Blueberry Cream are amazing. The Farmer’s Market delivery is a perfect fit for San Diegans to enjoy in their own neighborhoods.

Sonny’s rocks the scoops like no one in town. They’re boutique enough to deliver only the freshest and most unique ingredients to make your mouth happy, and punk rock enough to come up with flavors loosely based on Dead Milkmen songs.
Although my multiple requests to create Fish Taco ice cream have fallen on deaf ears, varietals such as Strawberry Balsamic zinged my taste buds like a winged unicorn kicking the back of a rainbow.
