Terrible customer service. De Lam was the technician.
De’s english is hard to understand, and he got very aggressive when I asked him to repeat something he said.
I definitely do not recommend this place.

Pulled right in and started test right away. 15 min done. $ 40 out the door. What could be better.

Busy two bay, STAR certified test only station. It is right off El Cajon Blvd. and on corner of Highland & ECB.
Definitely no frills, low price, quick smog check. $ 40 smog and cert. for my truck. I wish I could speak Vietnamese.
I will definitely be back! Quick, inexpensive and easy.

Lam the owner, wonderful job, very professional, even fixed a hose in my engine at no extra cost. I will use lam for all smog checks for my vehicles.

Thought I would try this place due to the positive reviews, went in failed (barely) he told me free retest, I went and discovered a small exsaust leak, fixed it, went back, passed flying colors, he says 10.00, I asked «i thought it was free?» He starts saying a bunch of crap I could not understand, then I ask him why his sign says 37.50 and he charged me 40.00, he then starts saying more bable, then says I should «shut up» I though about throwing his 105 lil ass across the room but decided to just leave, I will not be back.

Great small business, I trust Smog Specialist with my inspections! They are busy on Saturdays but always available Mon-​Fri starting at 8am. I was having trouble getting my SMOG to pass on my 2000 Izusu Rodeo. Once I got the work completed, I took it back to Smog Specialist and he was nice enough to run it twice since it failed the first time (my car was really cold!)
I trust Smog Specialist with my vehicle and will continue to use him in the future.

this is an awesome «smog check only» station and i’ve been using them for over 11 years now.
the two technicians are very friendly, efficient and best of all– very fast!
this is a great, no-​frills place to get your smog check done in no time at all (even when there’s a line of 3 cars ahead of my i got out of there in less than an hour! they have two service bays going at the same time).

De T Lam is the owner and operator. He does a quick 15 minute in and out job with no BS. This is a test only facility and ran me $ 40 with the pass certificate included. He’s a fair man and won’t bother running the check if he doesn’t think it’ll pass — saves you the time and money. Highly recommend him.

My car needed to have a smog check before getting registered with the DMV. I went there and was greeted by an older nice man who told me
to keep the car on so the engine could settle. I waited by the counter while they smog tested my car. The man said. I was lucky. I barely passed right at the RPM mark, otherwise I would have had to had my catalytic converter changed at over $ 400! He gave me some good tips for next time: Get premium gas before get a car tune-​up. If you feel your car is on the fence of passing or not, I recommend that you do this.
The only bad things are that the building could be more easier to see. Its just got a concrete façade and the waiting room could be made to look more friendlier. Other than that I know this place is great.

This test-​only smog check station is fast, friendly and cheap.
