Smi Surgery Center

On March 13^th I went to SMI for knee surgery performed by Dr. Hanson. My experience with the operation and the staff could not have been any better. From the young woman who checked me in, my LVN Amalia,(sorry about the spelling of her name), RN Billie, anesthesiologist Dr. Cage, and Dr. Hanson who performed the surgery, were professional and amazingly kind. Everyone in the building was so kind that I began to wonder if I had been mistaken for a celebrity. The attending staff was thorough in keeping me informed about everything and their manner put me at ease throughout my visit.
In today’s business atmosphere, I was beyond pleased to be treated so well.
I am recovering so well that I am not taking any pain relievers. I’m not riding my pogo stick to the store, or running hurdles, but I feel great.
My sincerest thanks to the entire staff.

I have to make an update sadly. After I went to the post up appt, I found out this location gave me incorrect post op directions @ the post up apt. This is an issue which I don’t known if it was the center or dr that made the mistake. I got it from the staff at the surgery center so must give them some blame.

I’ve been here several times for various procedures with my pain doctor, and I have to say, I really don’t care for hospitals or the medical field in general. I’ve had four babies, and I’m a little frightened by medical procedures and even needles. However, I must say, SMI Surgery Center is simply amazing.
I was blown away by the friendliness and kindness of the staff – from the reception area (which is clean, comfortable and fast) all the way through to recovery. They work very well together, and they seem to enjoy each other and their jobs, and that naturally flows through to patient care. (Procedures I’ve had at Sharp didn’t run nearly so smoothly!)
My procedure went perfectly, and on time, and the staff was so nice. Ariella got my IV in like a pro, and Diane is super nice as well. Billie is amazingly sweet, and the rest of the staff, Andre, Marty, and Beth were all courteous and friendly as well. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home. I highly recommend this facility – I’ll be sure to go here for any future procedures I need done, and I’ll recommend it to friends and family as well. Thanks so much!

Yesterday morning I had an anterior cervical discectomy with partial corpectomy and bone fusion with my Dr. Ghosh who is by far the best neurosurgeon I know. Very professional and more importantly friendly. The facility is the cleanest I have ever seen. My nurses Hillary, Billie, Connie, Tom, Pamela and Aleen were fantastic. They made mee feel at home by asking me what I needed, if I wanted to eat or drink anything. In a private room right now but the only drawback is the no family member can stay in the room with you. Which is okay due to the limited space. With all the pros out weighing the cons. I will give this center a 5 star.

Very caring staff and knowledgeable doctors. I felt so comfortable and the entire staff made such an effort to help me feel better. Its such a nice clean office too!
