San Diego Resort Rentals

My husband and I stayed for a weekend in San Diego. We arrived very late from LA, so we had to do a self check-​in, but we had no problem, instructions sent were clear. We had a blast! We never moved from the beach. We rented bikes and cycled through the boardwalk, we rented kayaks in Mission Bay and at night we saw the fireworks from the San Diego Zoo! I never met any of the staff, just through the phone, but they were very helpful.

Beware of renting from this place!!! Complete rip off!!! Booked and confirmed a beautiful condo right on the strand with 2 spacious bedrooms and two beautiful bathrooms… showed pictures on their website of a fully remodeled 2 bedroom with a luxurious brand new interior. Upon arrival they put me in the unit upstairs from the one they showed me that hasn’t been updated in 25 years, with a broken coffee machine and one shower instead of two. Talked to Claudia who is supposedly the owner and she offered nothing, said it was just a misunderstanding and that the unit is just fine… Bait and switch!

DECEPTIVE!!! BEWARE of this company and especially of Marty…
1. Watch out for hidden fees, extra charges «updated lease»
2. Unreasonable owners complaining
3. Never returned security deposit
4. She’s only available when she wants you to sign lease /​or for payment. When you have an issue. She’s gone for days and very unresponsive and unprofessional…
Watch out for service fees, mandatory insurance, extra cleaning fees etc. Make sure everything is itemized in the invoice /​lease. She attempted to put extra charges on an «updated» lease but I caught it.
We had a group of people at 2727 Ocean Drive (nice house but not worth the aggravation of having the owner and Marty call/​text every 10 mins.) Especially gratifying when her assistant Nicki stopped by she said we were not loud at all and everything was calm… The guy was such a pain… We talked to other neighbors who had no issues with us all weekend. Do Not stay here if you have a group of more than 8. Actually do not use SDRR all together…
It’s been over two months and I still have not received the security deposit back from them. She was very sneaky on the last day. Requesting that we be out a little earlier but then told me that she had to wait for the cleaning crew to finish before I received the security deposit back. I had a flight to catch so she said she would mail it…
No check, no call backs, nothing…
I would NOT do business with them. DO NOT give them a cash deposit… I would only use a credit card if you do.

Beware!!! I met Marty and stayed at the Mission Bay home for a family wedding. Marty was rude and condescending. The home was beautiful but dirty, sand in the bed and the master bathtub. The cleaning crew had no access to cleaning supplies and Marty was unreachable. I felt sorry for the girl who works for her (I’m sure she has moved on… as many others have before her.)Vendors were astonished at the lack of communication. The only time you will hear from Marty is when she is trying to charge you for the same thing twice or «made up» charges then she just charges your credit card anyway. It wouldn’t surprise me if she kept the credit card machine at her house…“charge at will”. What a «shady character» is right.

Kudos to the person that found out most of these reviews are done by friends of hers. You don’t have to take my word for it spend the money to research her. If you get involved with her company be prepared to hire an attorney and fight for your integrity.
I normally write positive reviews so it speaks loudly when I can’t say enough about this unbelievably negative experience with her.

Engage at your own risk. At risk of identifying ourselves, considering she has our name and phone number, we were looking for a venue for a special occasion. We found it listed on Marty’s site and made the call. Safe to say we figured her out in less than a five minute conversation. Turns out she was never the exclusive rep on the property anyway and some of the pics were ripped from the internet. She’s a shady character alright and we’re really happy we never went in this direction.

My boss stayed here for his family reunion. Great location and they were quite helpful. They didn’t have any major issues.

I had been in need of a long spa weekend with the girls recently. So I decided to book a vacation rental with Marty from SD Resort Rentals & Services. The rental I chose was right on mission bay next to the Catamaran. It was PERFECT! We decided to stay in the sleeps10 so we could all have plenty of space to relax and be comfortable.
My friends and I had some masseuses come to the house. We did all of the usual stuff as well. All of that was awesome but the experience wouldn’t have been the same if it weren’t for the location and awesome service we got through Marty and the staff. The rental was very well put together. Anything we needed was already there or the staff was willing to help out .
I would definitely recommend SDRR. Next time I have a spa party I will be having it at the same location.

I can’t express enough how great my experience’s with SD Resort and Rentals has always been! Their staff is so professional and sweet, especially the owner Marty! She is a joy to work with and such a respectable nice person!
I have recommended a few of my clients to SD Resort and Rentals for weddings and weekend events and they have all been more than pleased with what was offered to them! I also recently rented a beach house for a friend’s bachelorette weekend and we were all so impressed by how affordable and easy the whole experience was for what we had paid for and the amazing service from everything we had received!
I definitely recommend using this company for all your house rental needs! And since I have worked with and used this company for a number of events, I am honestly shocked by the harsh words said above by the previous reviewer! It couldn’t be more far off from what my clients, friends, and myself have experienced!

NIGHTMARE!!! I held my wedding here in November. I started planning in March, Marti, the owner is the most despicable person I have ever met. She will scam you for your last dollar. She frequently didn’t mention things only to charge us for them later. For the weekend, the price we got for Villa on the Bay was around 7K by the end of everything we paid over 9K. She then charged my in-​laws card for reasons still unknown. They had to have the bank reverse the charges. Two months AFTER the wedding she calls demanding for more money and making legal threats. I would strongly recommend not to hold an event with this company nor even rent for business/​pleasure due to the horrid nature of dealing with Marti and her team. I cannot put into words how unprofessional and rude she is. She embarrassed me and herself in front of all my venders. She lied more than I can keep track of. The contract is so broad that there is nothing you can do until she has already taken you for everything. The entire process was just mind blowing, we didnt even have a check in/​out. Nor did we have codes to open the garage, after calling Marti’s cell 10 times she calls back an hour later and screaming. In conversation she will talk over and not let you get a word in edge wise. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
