San Diego LASIK Center Global Laser Vision

I did laser surgery last August. The whole process was very satisfactory! Examination was done in a professional way. I felt confident that this centre and Doctor Yaqouti can do a good operation. The result was as I was expecting wonderful! I was –6 for both eyes. The operation itself takes only few minutes but what is important is the correct measurements before the operation and correct degree of correction which this centre is good at doing that!

Everyone at Global Laser Vision is very nice, friendly and makes the process very easy! I had the process done 1 month ago and I’m very pleased that I did this procedure. I had no issues, other than a burning sensation… but went to sleep and when i woke up, it was fine. I had no issue with dry eyes or halo’s. I still have to wear readers, as my close up vision couldn’t be corrected entirely… it’s a little disappointing but WAY better then needing prescriptions for everything.

I just finished with my post op appointment and I have to say how amazing it is to have better than ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision! Dr. Yaghouti & his team are AMAZING. During the procedure Dr. Yaghouti talks you through everything as its happening so you are not left in dark about what’s going with your eyes, I really appreciated that & it help keep me relaxed. The whole procedure is around 5 – 10 mins but felt lightning fast for me. Even better as soon as the procedure was done I could see clearly! It was also very reassuring that Dr. Yaghouti is in the top 1% of refractive surgeons in the country and attending Harvard doesn’t hurt either. I’m so glad I choose to have Lasik done & even more happy that I chose this establishment. No one beats San Diego LASIK Center Global Laser Vision!

My only regret about coming here, is that I didn’t come sooner. I truly wish that I had come & get lasik years ago, because I have the eyesight of an eagle now. No more contacts & no more glasses. The procedure here is quick & painless and you can be back to work the next day.
A friend of mine described the procedure to me with lasik & it freaked me out, but in practice the entire procedure is extremely quick & you won’t believe how quickly you are on your way out. My eye sight now is better than ²⁰⁄₂₀. Come here. You will be glad you did!

Remember this: you’re investing in your own person well-​being, health, and quality of life. You only get 1 pair of eyes so it’s an incredibly important decision to make when considering LASIK. For me, the experience and results I got from Global were worth every penny.

My initial consultation went smoothly, and the front desk staff and assistants were all very friendly. My first exam was done by Dr. Ploof, who was incredibly thorough in explaining not only everything he was doing, but why he was doing it, and how it related to the procedure. He touched upon every aspect of LASIK, pre-​op, and post-​op expectations, and essentially answered all of the questions I had lined up without me having to mention anything. His wide knowledge base, coupled with the fact that he also works for Kaiser during the rest of the week put me at ease.
After my initial exam, I spoke with Collette about financial details of the procedure, types of financing they had available, discounts for full payments in cash, etc. She was great at laying out my different payment options. You don’t pay until the day of surgery so you have time to consider what’s best for you. At the end of the meeting, she set my appointment for surgery just 2 days later, handed me 2 prescriptions to get filled beforehand, and we were all set.

The morning of surgery, expect to be there for at least 2 hours. I arrived for my appointment, got my eyes re-​examined by Dr. Bajpai to confirm some measurements, and after filling out some paperwork and waiting a little while, they took me back and gave me some Xanax about 20 – 30 minutes prior to surgery. They put in some eyedrops, gave me a goody bag with some sunglasses, Tylenol w/​codeine, and a sample of lubricating eye drops. I watched a short video, and waited in the back for my turn. There were probably 4 other patients getting surgery that day before me.
The procedure itself went by quickly. Dr. Yaghouti was great and continued to explain precisely everything he was doing during the entire process, and provided great feedback in letting you know what to expect next in the proceeding moment (i.e. pressure, flashing lights, darkness, blurriness, etc). He was very fast but the fact that he was communicating everything to you for the whole 5 (maybe 10?) minutes was comforting since it was such an unusual experience! It wasn’t painful at all, but you do feel a pretty uncomfortable amount of pressure on your eyes (as if someone was pushing them inwards). Meanwhile, all you see are blurry flashing lights, and by the time you’re done, they slap on some eye shields and you’re rushed out of there. Make sure your ride is ready and waiting!
During the car ride home, I kept my eyes closed but they were tearing up a storm. They were like waterfalls on my face, and my nose started becoming really congested so I’m not sure if I started having an allergy flare, but I cracked my eyes open enough to use the restroom once I got home, and afterwards, quickly popped the T3 they had given me and KTFO. At least 4 hours of rest is key!

When I awoke from my slumber the day of & especially the day after, my vision was essentially fixed. There were at times, fluctuations in my vision for the following 2 – 3 weeks or so (as they explain, is to be expected), and I did see halo’s at night when driving, but I’m about to go in for my 6 week follow-​up with them and I feel as though my vision has been pretty stable for the past few weeks now and I don’t notice halo’s any longer. I had dry eye for maybe 2 – 3 weeks post-​op as well, but no longer find the need to use any lubricating drops.
I’ll update this post if anything arises during my follow-​up appointment, but as of now, I’m satisfied with my newfound vision! I previously had astigmatism, but my vision had been stable for the past 5 – 6 years on toric soft contacts. I was –2.75 and –2.5, so if your specs are similar, you might be a good candidate! Definitely recommend Global.

TIPS:
— If you wear toric soft contacts, be sure to leave them off of your eyes for the 2 weeks prior to consultation. They tend to change the shape of your eye, so it’s a more accurate reading when they’ve been off for a while.
— The medical tape they give you to use with your eye shields (to be worn nightly x 14 days post-​op) can be incredibly aggravating to the skin – especially when you’re trying to be gentle around your eye area and the sticky mess it leaves on your face is difficult to remove! I had to use waterproof eye makeup remover and toner, but even this proved to be too much work for me. I recommend getting some paper tape to use instead – something that is more gentle on the skin.
— If you’re weird like me and sometimes sleep with your eye not completely shut, it can be helpful to wear a sleeping mask (w/​or w/​o the eye shields) to keep your eyes closed throughout the night so that they don’t dry out.
— Polarized sunglasses will be your bff. Invest in a good pair.

I decided to erase my original review and give my WHOLE experience with LASIK here. I had my consultation on December 2014(I have an Astigmatism) I do not remember the doctor (Doctor #1) He said I would see wayyyyy better with out glasses and promised me I was a candidate… The next day surgery day, I had a pre-​op exam (Doctor #2)… Surgery time (Doctor #3, and actual surgeon) Ill clarify by saying I had a total of 3 doctors and actually did not meet the doctor performing the surgery till I was in the room getting it done. Surgery is quick, a little painful but nothing I could not handle. The next day I went for my follow up and my vision was very blurry! For the next 6 weeks I struggled with my vision…
Surgery #2 Feb 2015 vision a lot better but still not as good as I would see with glasses. I finally got to talk to the actual surgeon during one of my follow ups and he explained to me why I was having the issues I was. It made me feel a lot better when he explained things but not 100% satisfied. He asked me to come back in a few months which I never did because during the follow up he pretty much told me he could perform surgery again but it would be a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance if it would help correct my issues, so why would I go thru a 3^rd surgery…
I now have scheduled an appointment to get a prescription for glasses as seeing is an EVERYDAY struggle for me especially at night. I am not saying that it is the surgeons fault or anything of that sort but I STRONGLY believe I was never a candidate for LASIK. Now $ 4500 later I still need to get glasses. So my advice is that you get multiple opinions, weigh your pros and cons, really do your research because If I could go back I would NEVER have done this surgery. My eyes hurt everyday, they are dry, I have a ton of halos and see blurry. I am not going to say my vision has not improved as it has but I am going to say seeing was a lot easier with glasses. I do not plan on going to any more appointments here, and although I did pay for the life time warranty (which is $ 250 for touch ups) I don’t see a point in getting any at all. I am happy for those who had great results with this as I do believe LASIK does work but I know for me it didn’t and I should of never been over promised and under delivered. My vision seems to be getting worse again so I will be going to other surgeons to get opinions on what I can do, for now glasses will have to do.

On Aug 28, 2015 I went in to get LASIK! It was the best experience of my life. I was really nervous, but the staff here made it so comfortable for me! It was over in less than 10min’s & when I got home I fell asleep till the next day!!!
When I woke up and saw everything clear I literally broke down in tears. Every since I was 8 I been wearing glasses and at 24 to finally feel like I didn’t need to reach over for my glasses or run to the bathroom and put my contacts on was a very overwhelming feeling!!!

Came in for a lasik consultation on thursday, had my iLasik procedure done on friday the next day! Collette the financial advisor was super friendly and sweet, she answered any and all questions that I had. She advised me that they had an opening and I decided to take it. If I can do it, anyone can! I was so nervous the night before I couldn’t sleep at all and felt sick the day of. After the Xanax and thorough explanation of what was going to happen, I went in for the procedure. I felt safe the whole time everything was happening and the doctors made me feel safe and comfortable (the numbing drops helped too). The whole process was so quick and the best part was waking up the next day being able to see perfectly. The miracle of technology!

What an amazing life changing experience! Greatest investment any one can ever invest. I would refer SD LASIK off friars rd. To anyone. Dr. Is very gentle and kind. ;)

I had Lasik with Wavefront Technology done on July of 2011. I’ve always worn glasses and contacts, but after Lasik, it was better than ²⁰⁄₂₀. It was the best investment that I could have ever given myself.
The procedure was quick; about 3 – 5 minutes. It was a bit uncomfortable with some minor pain but nothing that OTC pain meds wouldn’t cure.
The staff here is super friendly and the doctors are very professional, attentive and nice. If you can afford it, and are tired of wearing glasses and contacts, I highly recommend that you get Lasik done ASAP. You won’t regret it!

I CAN SEE!!! After years of having the wrong prescription, I finally decided to do LASIK at Global Laser Vision and I can see and read without glasses or contacts. I considered doing LASIK many years ago but was advised to hold off since my eyes were still changing year after year. But for the past 2 years, my vision actually improved which I didn’t even know was possible. So I asked my optometrist if I can consider LASIK and she said yes. Now that I got the approval, I just needed to get over the fear of doing it. I reached out to my fellow Unilocalers (Lisa W and Shayne C) for their input on San Diego LASIK Center Global Laser Vision since they were highly reviewed and recommended. Both had very positive things to say about the facility and the doctor performing the procedure. So I made the appointment.
The initial consultation took about a couple hours where they examined and mapped my eye. In order to do this, I had to be dilated so be prepared in case you decide to go alone. During my consultation, they went over procedure in detail and was very thorough with the entire process.
After the consultation, I met with Collette in the back office, who reviewed the payment options and promotional offers.
I went home, spoke to the wife and scheduled my LASIK surgery for the following Friday.
Here’s how it went down:
— Arrived at 9am and checked in.
— Eyes were re-​checked and examined.
— Waited a few minutes in the lobby and was called to the back area.
— Watched a video regarding post-​surgery care.
— Was given Xanex for relaxation
— Surgical assistant applied three different eye drops in each eye.
— Waited a few more minutes.
— Was called into the surgery room.
— Met Dr. Yaghouti and his staff.
— Dr. Yaghouti explained the procedure and got started.
— He explained what was happening and was speaking to me the entire time.
— The most discomfort I felt was when pressure was applied to my eyes but it was slight.
— The entire process took about 5 minutes from what I can tell.
— Dr. Yaghouti walked me to a device to closely examine my eyes and advised what I need to do for the next 5 hours and 5 days.
— Went straight home with my eyes taped shut.
— Slept for 6 hours, woke up and was able to see everything.
The follow up appointment happened the next day with Dr Yaghouti. He compared my vision prior to the surgery with and without my prescription glasses.
Dr. Yaghouti said everything is perfect and I am able see better than ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision which is rare since I have astigmatism. He told me my vision will continue to improve over the next 6 weeks so this was awesome!
All in all, best decision and investment ever made.

I had my Lasik surgery approx 8 weeks ago and I wanted to hold off on writing any reviews. With that said I am very satisfied and happy with the results.
The staff (both front end and the medical staff) are very professional, nice and courteous.
I was very nervous going into the surgery but the doctor made sure he told me exactly what he was doing during the brief procedure.
I saw results within the next 24 hours though driving at night was still a bit difficult so I would personally advise against that if possible.
There was some eyeball bruising but those eventually went away.
I decided to pay for this expensive procedure for both vanity and safety reasons. I am a girl after all and wearing glasses all the time was cramping my style. I was also having difficulty seeing at night when driving despite new glasses and contacts.
Lasik was a great investment and I am glad I went with San Diego Lasik Center Global Laser Surgery.

I have terrible anxiety with my eyes. It takes 2 hours just for me complete an eye exam for example.
I’ve purchased my last two prescriptions from them and everyone was amazing. So amazing that I eventually decided to have my lasik surgery.
I can’t rave enough about how calm everyone made me feel and how fast the lasik procedure was. 10 minutes total for ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I had custom Lasik done last week and I’m happy with the results. I was a –1.5 in each eye with a mild astigmatism in the right. My left eye is now excellent. I’m certain that it’s better than ²⁰⁄₂₀. My right eye still, unfortunately, has some astigmatism. I’m mildly disappointed, since they kinda made it sound like that would get fixed too, but it’s not a deal breaker. I’m very happy with how well I can see and I no longer have any need for glasses, contacts or squinting.
As for recovery: right after surgery they put a translucent eye sheild on you and encourage you to go right to sleep (it was ~8 pm on friday) and actually give you some zanex to help you do that. I woke up the next morning and felt fine. most of Saturday my eyes felt «over exposed.» Like the feeling of the lights being too bright in a room, but closing my eyes didn’t help. It was mildly uncomfortable at best. Sunday I felt pretty much fine, with a small amount of dryness and maybe a bit of itchyness. Since sunday my eyes have felt fine. I just finished the eye drop schedule (every 4 hours from 8am-​8pm) and the halos are going away quite rapidly already (said it could take a few weeks). honestly I can go on living my life 100% normally now (well… you’re still not supposed to touch or rub eyes or swim).
Overall I’m pleased, just slightly bummed that the astigmatism is still there. Still worth the $ 4k

It’s been about 5 weeks since my surgery and I can see better than ever! The doctors at the Global Laser Vision Center are top notch and all very nice. They answered all my questions and made me very comfortable with the process. My only complaint is that you don’t meet the actual doctor doing the surgery until you are in the operating room. He was very nice skilled as I now see better than ²⁰⁄₂₀!
I think they should give out hats that say «I just got LASIK!». I feel like I did this major life altering thing and no one can even tell! The hat would help! ;)

If you’re having doubts, don’t ! Trust me I am the most apprehensive and indecisive person I know. I’ve been holding off on getting LASIK surgery for years ! I just didn’t feel confident enough and I didn’t want to take a chance if something were to go wrong with my vision.
