I was looking for a mold inspection company in San Diego that could come do an mold inspection of the house me and my boyfriend are renting. I first contacted a different company who was not available to come the next day so they recommended I give Dave a call at SD home & mold inspection. They said they had already recommended Dave before and everyone was very pleased with the service. I contacted Dave right away and was able to make an appointment the next morning. His prices were very competitive. He took the time to explain to me exactly what tests he would be performing the next day so I knew what to expect. My boyfriend and I were going through a very frustrating experience with the owners of the place we are renting and after they had the mold remediated, I wanted Dave to come in to test the air & surface of the areas where mold was found to ensure it was in fact all gone. When I spoke to Dave on the phone the first time to schedule the appointment, he asked for some details on our situation and how he could be of service. Dave was professional and very attentive & sympathetic to our situation.
The next morning, Dave came in to do the inspection. I had a lot of questions to which Dave provided a lot of insight. I had been experiencing a lot of allergy symptoms that could be linked to the mold found. Dave provided great advice and answered all my questions with extremely valuable answers. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable and helpful with our situation.
Dave sent the lab results/​report to us the next business day. The report was very detailed and thorough and came with all the pictures Dave had taken during the inspection. We had a few questions after taking a quick look at the report so we called Dave who was available to help and again very helpful with the useful information he provided. He welcomed all of our questions and has been a huge help throughout this process for us.
Dave made sure to let us know to call him back if we had any other questions at all. The service we received from Dave at SD home & mold inspection service was genuine, professional, thorough and informative.

It’s been a few months now, but I wanted to say how happy we are with the service from Dave. He came by the next day, a Friday, after a referral from DryHome (& gave us a discount). He was prompt, courteous & efficient. We had the report (&clearance letter) that next Tuesday — what a relief!

I was looking to order some mold testing for my clients last month, who were in escrow to purchase a new home. I reached out to a business partner to obtain a referral. SD Home & Mold Inspection came highly referred, especially Dave. So I contacted him for our order. I was impressed with Dave as he did an outstanding job, and he was prompt and professional.
Soon after that encounter, we discovered some water damage within my own home. I immediately contacted Dave and he came out to our home the very next day. The things I appreciated the most: Dave took the time to make our personal worries a priority AND he had a genuine concern with regards to our situation. He handled our questions with the utmost respect and patience.

Prior to my family going to escrow, we really wanted to do our due diligence on the house that we were about to purhcase. The house we were considering had been completely remodeled from the ground up. Therefore, we weren’t too concerned about things like mold, old water pipes, water leakage, etc. Having said, you can never be too catious so we went the extra mile and performed many independent inspections.
For mold and water, we hired Dave from San Diego Home & Mold as he seemed to have a good understanding of mold and water quality. We essentially selected the Infrared, Mold and Water quality test. Dave came out to the property as scheduled and was very flexible. His costs were very reasonable for the amount of tests were had selected and Dave seemed friendly enough.
So why the 3 stars you say? We’ll, it really came down to follow through. We received a very detailed Mold report from Dave but there was little attempt to try and explain the nature of the report, let alone make any suggestions. We actually got a slightly elevated spore count in one of bedrooms. This surprised us, as the entire house had been remodeled to the studs and there was no water leakage anywhere. Again, I had to really press Dave on the interpretation of the Mold report and the best I got was «inconclusive» on the report. Again, if I have a high spore count, I want to know what a professionalals opinion.
Also, the water report was incredibly generic. It contained three or four categories for each contaminent. For example under hard water, it just said «Hard» or under copper and lead it just indicated «safe». There was no detail to the particulates and the count of the various particulates. I also had to follow-​up with Dave on the Lead report more than once because the lead information was not made available on the original water report. Not a big deal but again, no follow through.
Afterwards, Dave did recommend a remediation company that he was familiar with called Pure Flo. In the end, Pure Flo and Dave didn’t instill confidence so I got a second opinion from another Mold company, Orange Restoration. Orange indicated that no serious remediation was necessary. Just to be safe, we ended up going with a wipe down of all surface area and scrubbed the air for several days. This was sufficient to bring the moldscore down. I could speculate all day long but in the end the report we received was detailed but prompted more questions than answers and Dave just wasn’t willing or prepared to provide any guidance.
