I have had to hire attorneys for various reasons. One of the benefits of hiring an attorney is to have someone to look out for your best interests so that you don’t have to stress. This was absolutely the worst experience in have ever had. I 1000% had a less stressful time with court when I didn’t have an attorney. Besides for them filing paperwork, don’t understand what they did besides charge me a ridiculous amount of money. I feel like I just got completely robbed! We hired her for a move away case. I told her from the beginning that I was in a hurry because my husband had already been transferred for work and I was pregnant. I needed to move as soon as possible. I requested to do an ex parte but she said we didn’t need it. I hired her in march, and somehow I still ended up in court the day after I had my baby at the end of October! I wrote my own declaration. Basically they spent $ 20,000 on stupid emails back and forth asking me to sign things. And ridiculous court dates where she did nothing. She didn’t fight for me. She was weak and wanted me to settle with my ex who hadn’t been any part of my daughters life for 10 years! Do not hire this attorney if you want someone to fight for you. I had to request the court to talk to my daughter. I had to keep on top of them about deadlines. They never informed me about my mediation date and I was out of town on vacation! !!! I had to rush home the night before mediation! !! I was literally out of the state! She had the nerve to tell me that I could just leave my daughter so that I could go be with my husband when I had the baby! !!! My aunt spent $ 3500 TOTAL on her divorce after 30 years with a different lawyer but somehow this lawyer found a way to ring up a bill for this custody case to be more than $ 20,000. Honestly I could still go on and on. This was a mistake and a nightmare to hire this woman. She just made the entire situation more stressful than it should have been and I was an idiot to trust them! My husband kept asking me to check in with them, and I kept thinking they had it under control, like the other lawyers we hired in the past. But I was far from wrong. Honestly I don’t know how they have all 5 stars. I feel like they might be friends posting reviews or something.

The Sachdev Legal Group was absoultely fantastic handling my child support negotiations. I am out of state, and they were able to make the process very easy. All the paperwork was organized in a digital online file, as well as any invoices, which made it much easier to handle from a long distance. The whole experience was professional and organized, and ended up working out much better for me than expected. I would highly recommend Ms. Sachdev to anyone.

Let me just say that I never thought I would ever have to be in a position to review a divorce attorney on Unilocal or anywhere else. If you’re looking at divorce attorney reviews right now, I can only imagine what you’re going through. When I finally worked up the courage to leave my abusive partner of 9 years, I felt lost, terrified, and worried what to do about my ex’s threats to never let me see my children again.
The very first thing I noticed about Ms. Sachdev and her team was their compassion. I had met with a few other attorneys and she was the first that didn’t make me feel like I was going to go into battle, but instead focused on real court outcomes and how to best protect my children from some of the nastier elements of divorce. Her focus was on the mental and emotional health of my children and I; it is clear that she is in this business to help families and is not afraid to back down from a challenge.
Her office regularly checked in with me, kept me informed, and worked with me to move through the process as quickly as was possible. In the courtroom she is calm, confident, and classy. Her rapport with her peers and knowledge of each judge in each courtroom set me at ease.
If your aim is to preserve your dignity and the dignity of your children, retain Ms Sachdev.
If your aim is to move forward with grace through what is already a traumatic and a difficult time, retain Ms Sachdev.
If your aim is to complete a complicated legal process with your sanity and finances intact, retain Ms Sachdev.
You should not retain Ms. Sachdev if you’re only looking to hurt your former spouse as much as they hurt you, or if you’re looking to exact some form of financial or material justice, or if you’re trying to take your kids away from their other parent to get more financial support or to hurt your ex. If you want to be a petty nightmare or a caricature of every spiteful awful divorce court villain, Ms Sachdev and her firm are not for you. There are plenty of other combative pitbull attorneys working at firms looking to profit from the hours spent prolonging the agony of you and everyone in your family in this town. Just keep looking at Unilocal and you’ll find them. The reviews usually rave about how they got to stick it to their ex and said reviews are usually written by the kind of Unilocalers who write one star reviews about there not being any meat options in a vegan restaurant. If you’re one of those people, you’re not going to like Puja’s approach or her calm demeanor or her compassion.
In the end the only people who benefit from courtroom battles are the lawyers who enjoy billing you those expensive hours. You’d be better off finding compassion in your heart and retaining someone who will get you through this process with your conscience intact.
tl;dr: If you are looking to get through your divorce and move on with your life and grow as a human being, hire Puja. If you are an emotionally stunted wreck of a person looking to exact vengeance on your former partner in the form of reparations by metaphorically re-​enacting Sherman’s March to the Sea in the courtroom, I suggest looking elsewhere.

I read all the good reviews and contacted Ms. Sachdev’s office. After a few days of no return call, I called again. I got a secretary (or someone). Ms. Sachdev was out of the office so I left my contact info. She never called me back.

Where do I start, I’m going through a divorce and was researching high quality Family Law attorneys and came across the law office of Puja Sachdev. Puja’s reviews and accomplishments impressed me so much that I decided I needed to talk to her, and possibly have her represent me for my upcoming divorce. I called her office and spoke with her assistant Marie. Marie informed me that Puja was booked solid and couldn’t talk to me for another ten days. After seven years of ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ custody, my ex decided to go for full custody of our children. I was beyond mortified, scared and lost. I researched Puja online and set up a meeting. I knew she would support me in any way and was very knowledgeable. She helped me with every bit of the process and always kept me informed, answered all my questions and answered all my calls and emails. She also showed me what was fair and questioned some of the things we had in our custody. In the end, I came out with everything I asked for and my ex not only didn’t get what he asked for, other changes were made that I was always to scared to address. All of that is thanks to Puja! I saw Puja needing basic information on starting the divorce process. She put me in contact with a financial law expert who could help me to figure out the best first course of action especially dealing with multiple properties and the possibility of needing to file bankruptcy. She was very knowledgable, patient, kind, and answered so many of the questions I had at this very trying time. She is an excellent attorney who is not trying to bleed the client dry of money and has your best interest at heart. I went to no less than 10 attorneys before visiting Sachdev Law. No one would take my matter for less than $ 75,000.00. Sachdev Law came in at a little less than half of that, dealt with the matter efficaciously and I got a check for the remainder of the fees. I don’t know if anyone else on the planet has ever gotten change from and attorney. This is certainly the first time I ever have. Where most attorneys told me I had a very difficult case and chances of success were unlikely, Puja seemed to know off the top of her head how to handle the matter, and then handled it. Puja Sachdev is an excellent attorney — she is considerate and compassionate. Puja helped me to get a TRO against my ex and then appeared for me for a custody matter. I really like the way she approached my case, pointing out that sometimes you can be right or sometimes you can be happy.
