I could not have asked for a better experience. We purchased a short sale that had the most complicated issues (multiple banks, tax issues, short escrow, etc.) and with Ryan’s knowledge and expertise we were able to secure the purchase before the property foreclosed. We were limited on time due to a possible foreclosure, and securing a loan in such a short time was looking extremely difficult. If it wasn’t for Ryan working on my loan around the clock we would not have closed on time.
Ryan was referred to me by coworkers. I was originally working with my former loan officer, which I had used three times prior. That Loan officer dropped the ball on me at the worst possible time. He flat out told me that he could not do it because he was «Too busy» for me and also could not recommend a loan officer to help his 3 time client. I was extremely disappointed that we were going to lose out on our dream home.
Ryan and Karen saved the day. Ryan took on the task knowing the complexity of the purchase and came through for us. Ryan even got me a lower interest rate and mortgage payment. Ryan is amazing! I don’t know what we would have done without him during our first-​time-​home-​buying experience. My husband and I felt like VIP’s working with him. He was dedicated to answering all of our questions patiently, and quickly. His attention to our needs is why we felt secure and confident during this process. I can tell Ryan is really knowledgeable at what he does. Additionally, his response times are immediate. We never waited to hear back from him. Most importantly, Ryan fought for us and looked out for us every step of the way. From start to finish, the service I received from Ryan was utterly impeccable! The countless hours of «special assistance» and personal service were exactly what I needed, since I was a first-​time-​homebuyer purchasing a For-​Sale-​By-​Owner property. I seldom ever write reviews but Ryan deserves the recognition, especially when his level of service had greatly exceeded my expectation. He’s informative, communicates everything clearly and unbelievably quickly, and is constantly answering my questions and concerns at any hour of the day.
It was a complex situation because prior to contacting Ryan, I had found a Realtor, whom had me sign an agreement would not permit me to be represented by another Realtor, but when it came down to business time, she would not represent me because it was a For-​Sale-​By-​Owner transaction. If it weren’t for Ryan’s assistance, which was extensive, I would not have felt comfortable AT ALL going forward with the transaction. And, of course, it was a nice feeling to have the loan all completed well over a week ahead of our close of escrow date, which really prevented a lot of stress. With most lenders, you’d have to follow-​up and request things to be expedited to make sure you close in time. And I thought I was on point with everything but Ryan was the one flagging me down to complete my items because I was one holding them back. Ryan was always on top of his game, easy to get a hold of, anticipated anything that could come up with the lender down the road, and, most importantly, was willing to go above and beyond.
Based on my experience, I’d recommend Ryan without any hesitation.

Ryan helped me refinance my house, dropping my monthly payments considerably. He also made all the paperwork pretty painless. It’s important to work with a lender you trust. At the signing there are about 500 sheets of paper to sign and unless you are an attorney you pretty much just sign, and sign and sign, just skimming the fine print or you would be there for a week!
All in all working with Ryan was great. He worked around my busy schedule and even met my wife and I at UTC to go over some loan options over a cup of coffee.

I highly recommend Ryan Gelardi to anyone in the San Diego area looking for a home loan. I was a first time home buyer and purchasing a short sale property. Ryan got me the rate I wanted and a lot of credit towards my closing costs. The overall out-​of-​pocket to me was several thousand dollars better than what my neighbor, who is also a loan officer, could do for me. Anyone who has purchased a short sale should know they are not always easy to get done, especially when you have 2 lenders being paid off. Ryan did a fantastic job of working with the realtors and the escrow company over a span of 6 months to ensure that my deal got done. In the end, because there was 2 short sale lenders causing all of our problems, we ended up with a 2 day window from which we had to get final loan approval, loan docs and fund… Ryan used his clout with the lender and made this happen — I call that going above and beyond. I was so pleased with the service that I felt it necessary to go on here and give him this great review. Ryan also did a home loan for a co-​worker of mine. She told me he hit a home run for her as well. You can’t go wrong with this guy as your loan officer. He is very good at what he does.

Ryan was great from the start. There were a few bumps in the road during the process, but overall I was able to close in 34 days. Ryan and Karen were always available whenever I needed to ask a question. If I had a question, Ryan would always get back to me very quickly and I appreciated the quick response from his team. Overall I am very impressed at the professionalism and work that Ryan did for me to be able to complete my cash out VA loan.

Ryan was such a blessing when I was going through the home buying process. My realtor referred him to me when I found a condo I was ready to make an offer on. I had been pre-​approved with another lender, but I didn’t feel comfortable with the loan package. I called Ryan after I had tried to compare several loans from various lenders myself and was stressed about the right loan for me. Even though I was already pretty far into the process and needed to lock in a loan quickly, he found the best loan option for my situation. He explained all of the different rates and what it would mean to take a lower or higher rate. He went over all the numbers very thoroughly with me and explained the process as I was a first time home buyer and had no idea what I was looking at. He worked quickly to get the loan funded on time and in fact my loan was ready to fund in a little over two weeks, however, I chose to wait a week and we funded the loan and closed escrow in only three weeks. Throughout the process he was very communicative and sent weekly update emails to everyone involved.
In addition to making the process a breeze, Ryan called me after my escrow closed and offered the use of his truck during my move! He couldn’t have been nicer to work with, but he was also genuinely excited for me purchasing my first home. A couple weeks after I moved, he even called to take me to lunch as a thank you for my business.
I don’t know what I would have done without Ryan and I would definitely encourage everyone to give him a call when they are beginning their own process. Even if you have never worked with a mortgage broker before or don’t know if it is right for you Ryan would be the perfect place to start. I know Ryan will go out of his way to answer any questions you have and help you find the best option for your situation.

I have used Ryan several times for refinancing my 1^st mortgage. (Don’t blame me; the interest rates kept dropping).
Ryan is very experienced with refis. He has done so many refis, that he know the ins and outs of the process. He was able to successfully walk me through the process each time. He was able to predict where the trouble spots would be and to help me get past them.
The fact that I have used Ryan for 3 refis should say a lot. I was very pleased with his professionalism and also his calm manner. I would start getting irate when the bank I was using started making me jump through hoops for no reason. Ryan was able to calm me down and explain why the bank was being an idiot. How he can deal with the new mortgage regulations and still keep his cool is beyond me. I always felt like shooting someone, but Ryan was calm and collected. Must be the beach living!!!

This was my wife and I’s first home purchase and Ryan made everything such a breeze. He was very professional, ahead of schedule, resourceful, thoughtful, and I always felt that he was looking out for our best interests during the loan approval process. He was so determined to get us qualified for the lowest possible rate that he spent endless hours tracking down lenders that would fit our needs. Then to top it off he followed up with us months later after we moved in and told us about an easy re-​fi that would drop our already low interest rate even lower. Can’t thank him enough for that as our monthly dropped quite a bit with the re-​fi. Ryan was one of the best things to happen to me and my husband during our horrific home buying experience. Although we weren’t able to work with him to the end and had to find another lender to finance through (due to no fault of his own, it was a quirky condo rule we had to work around!), Ryan kept checking in with us to make sure everything was going smoothly and we were going to be able to fund our loan.
Ryan goes above and beyond what is expected and he works hard from start to finish to make sure that you are getting the best experience possible. He was very patient with us first time home buyers, and had no problem answering our questions and giving us honest answers as to the best loan types for our situation and also answer questions that would have helped us decide whether or not we should buy down our rate.

Ryan is amazing… Seriously. I have done a couple loans through him and I cant imagine ever finding anyone quicker, more knowledgeable, or professional.
Lets cut to the quick: We initially bought our house in June of 2010. It was a short sale and the sellers bank gave us 17 days to close our loan or they were going to foreclose. Ryan was able to do a full doc, FHA, short sale in less than that… With a SMOKING rate. Unheard of. Did I mention it was really EASY?
And on to the knowledgeable: Ryan reached out to us when a couple opportunities came up to reduce our rate and get rid of our PMI. So Ryan helped us through a couple refis. Since buying the house initially we were able to reduce the cost of our mortgage by $ 500 per month. Keep in mind we started with a smoking rate, but we also bought at a great time. Getting rid of that garbage PMI in under 2 years was amazing!!! (Thanks again Ryan) Our refis were done within a week or two (no joke). Again the process was too easy.
Lastly, the professional: I was referred to Ryan after I reached out to several other loan officers and had yet to receive a call back. The first time I spoke with him he was at the airport returning from a family vacation… Can you find a loan officer to pick up the phone let alone while on vacation? That will NEVER happen. Then around the time my loan was closing he was returning my calls from the hospital while his wife was having their second baby… True story.
I have referred tons of friends and family to him, after they hear about my rates and how I was able to get rid of my PMI in under 2 years. A friend of mine was able to save a ton of money with a better interest rate through Ryan. And she said the same exact thing: Way too easy, under 2 weeks, I love this guy.

I met Ryan through a property where I was asked to cross-​qualify with him. We ended up getting out-​bid on that particular property, but stayed in-​touch with Ryan because of his helpful offer to send us frequent rate updates. He also put together a free package of our documents for use with future cross-​qualifications. When we finally got an offer accepted I decided to go with him over the previous lender we had identified because of his tremendous communication and unbeatable rates. Any time we had a question he responded very quickly. He explained different loan options to us… too many to name. We ended up going with a VA loan, which is perfect for us.
Throughout our transaction he was timely, professional, and always thorough in his explanations. I am convinced that he got us the best deal possible and am extremely satisfied with his service.

Unbelievable! We had a 7 ¼ loan, everywhere we went people sad we should just stop paying our mortgage and negotiate. I have worked long and hard for a perfect credit rating and I was not going to do that. Ryan worked over and above, strategically planning each move, what happened at the very end is that we got a well known lender with a 3 ½ mortgage! Not even my accountant could believe we got that loan. Ryan is a miracle worker. He was quick, efficient, always available. And now when I pay my mortgage, 50% goes straight to principle. MIRACLE!!!
