By far the worst customer service ever I called twice to place an order to go and was hung up on both times but was placed on hold for five minutes I when I asked to ask to talk to the manager she said it was her on the phone. Then said it was really busy that’s the reason I was hung up on and said can I get you anything and I didn’t answer right away and was hung up on again. The manager was so rude and unwelcoming. I work at fashion valley and knew it wasn’t busy. Plus I asked the other girl who is working if it’s been crazy busy and she said no it was slow so Mena the manager was just being lazy. When I was on hold I can just here a full on conversation going on its so annoying when you get paid to costumer derive and can’t simple do that. –1 star

I come here all the time since i work at the mall. I decided to write a review this time because i found it unbelievable that I get ignored even by the Manager Jose because he was too busy texting on his phone which he didnt even care to hide it. The same manager never says PLEASE or THANKYOU. I understand if he doesnt say it every time but like i said, i come here all the time and he has never said please or thank you to me. Food is decent but compared to the other rubios, it is not up to standard.

General Manager is extremely rude. Terrible customer service. He treats people like he is a miserable employee.

I have never had a bad experience at this Rubios. While I have only ducked my head into this particular location a handful of times while at Fashion Valley mall, I can say that their food quality is consistent with all other locations, including the original in PB. The only downside to this particular location is that it can sometimes take longer to receive your food, and I would have to say that it is probably due to being a smaller mall location. Other than that, a truly great establishment!

The staff is lovely and Norma, a shift leader is always on top of things and is wonderful at customer service! The staff is great and the food also.

This Rubios needs some help. The crew that works there for some reason or another don’t pay attention when taking your meal order. It never fails whenever ordering a meal it is somehow screwed up. Most recently ordered a burrito that had bacon. I asked that they leave the bacon out. Disgusting amounts were in my burrito, melted into the cheese and spread throughout. They all need some retraining! Always my last resort when dining in the mall food court.

Rubios is my favorite mall food, and also the most healthy in my opinion. I get the fish tacos and tell them to hold the sauce and to put them on corn tortillas. Everything else is all deep fried and gross. At least rubios tastes healthy even if it really isn’t. ;)

I ordered the classic shrimp burrito and it is delicious !.. I received chips with it to give a bit of complimentary crunch towards the already delicious burrito !.. they have a salsa bar which is also very nice which compliments any of the menu items and chips !! awesome spot !

I walk into the food court rubios at 8:55. Lady says«we’re closed». I said«why time do you close?» Kid says 9:00. I said«it isn’t 9:00 yet. Can I speak to the manager? The manager(Esmeralda I think) is adamant. I am shut out. My pals and I could not really quite believe it but there you have it. Turned away at the door so the kids could get off a little early on Friday night. I hope somebody at Rubios who cares will read this. I’ve eaten there for 20+ years and never treated so badly.

O.M.G. Very good fish tacos. Hot, fresh, and flavorful. Really enjoyed it. While I’m in SD, I’ve been trying fish and shrimp tacos at different places, and this place it high up on my list of places to go for a good fish taco.

This was my first time at a Rubios. In general it was a good experience and a nice alternative to Chipotle which I also love. I had a chicken burrito which was good. The Size of the burrito was average but it was nice that it comes with fresh tortilla chips which were very good and the salsa bar is a great addition to the meal. The«guac» in the burrito wasnt very impressive but at least there wasn’t an extra charge for it. I look forward to trying other items on the menu

I was craving a Fish Burrito without beans so I dropped by the Fashion Valley Rubio’s in the food court. Quality was exactly as I expected, great! Salsa was the same. What I didn’t like is the layout of this particular Rubio’s. Barely any room to order your food, wait for it while everyone else is getting drinks, salsa and utensils. It would really help if they setup those airport like ribbons directing people to move counter clockwise. PS — Customer service here was SUPERB! Glad the shift manager had a sense of humor and a great smile to go along!

Although I’m not entirely in love with Rubio’s, I decide to get a little something from here time to time. No, Rubio’s is nothing like Lolita’s or Lucha Libre when it comes to their burritos. I am not entirely sure how I would classify it. It’s somewhere along the lines of TJ Oyster Bar in terms of the selection. Of course, TJ Oyster Bar is much tastier. I guess there would be no exact comparison I could make for Rubio’s. Whenever I’d go here, it’d be for fish tacos(which are $ 1.50 after 2pm on Tuesday), or because I got a shrimp burrito once or twice. Their fish tacos are good, and not the best fish tacos I’ve had. Especially considering the fact that despite it being Taco Tuesday, they are not $ 1. The shrimp burrito I’ve had is good, but I feel as if they don’t give enough shrimp. Towards the end of it, the burrito is flatter than ever with nothing but a moist tortilla. Recently, I went to the Rubio’s at Fashion Valley Mall. It is a little space since it’s in the food court, and there’s barely any room to wait inside or get sauces, utensils, etc. The people I encountered were nice, at least. Advertised was their surf and turf combo, so I decided on getting it. It was one taco with shrimp and avocado, one tacos with steak pieces and avocado, chips with bean dip, and a drink. It was surprisingly delicious! The only downside was that it was $ 10 something. I understand that seafood and steak can get a little pricey, but $ 10?! I think for the price of $ 8 it’d be even better. I think that’s one thing that turns me off about Rubio’s – the prices.

This Rubio’s is in the mall food court, for those of you unfamiliar with the area. So know you’re about to visit a very, very small basically mousetrap sized version of Rubio’s where waiting in line here sometimes puts you back-to-back with a person trying to pour a soda from the machine. It can be a pretty awkward wait, and you will wait. The food isn’t any different than other locations. It’s all manner of tacos with an emphasis on seafood. I’ve only found this place to be clean, but I do agree with other reviewers about the workers being distracted by the whole«teenager working in the mall» deal. Not the best place to eat at the mall, and not the best Rubio’s.

While not the best Rubios in town(small, cramped, very busy, and often get your order wrong) it is still delicious! Nothing beats the grilled gourmet tacos or the fish tacos they are famous for, plus their fresh salsa bar is fantastic, and they have beer and sangria available. Beats other fast food joints hands down!

$ 1.50 fish tacos Tue after 2:30pm — as of 7.4.14 As the only recognizable eats in the Fashion Valley food court Rubios is our«go-to». The remodel really helped with the appearance and appeal. It’s always clean and the employees are generally nice. The only frustration with this location is the size. There is only space for about 5 people inside, so you need patience when ordering, getting your drink, or salsa and waiting for your order. Food quality, quantity and taste are the same as all other Rubios restaurants. Tasty :)

Been to many Rubio’s and this one is one of the worst. The shop is so tiny it is impossible to move around to get your drink, utensils or salsa. This last time I went they didn’t want to take a coupon I had gotten from an App. I never had a problem using a coupon(from this app) at any other Rubio’s, but they didn’t want to discount me the dollar, and it was a manager helping me. No big deal, it was only a dollar but it was rude the way he looked at my phone, looked at me and said«No, we no take a coupon from sites’. My burrito took way too long and when I sat down to eat it, the burrito was cold. I wondered how long it was actually sitting on the window. It was very disappointing. I should have gone to Sbarro’s instead.

I came here with a friend and it did not disappoint. I loooove fish tacos but I’ve never had tacos breaded but we so light. They had a great number of flavors and crunch with the cabbage. The salsa selection is great and the guac and white sauce was a yummy combo! This was my first time coming here and I will definitely return. When I got my receipt they gave me a coupon too! Can’t beat that!

I like Rubio’s, it’s one of my favorite fast food joints. But this particular location in the food court of Fashion Valley is very disappointing. I have been to this location twice and I had bad experience with both visits! First bad experience: I ordered the usual fish tacos and it was just lukewarm. Bad enough because beer battered fish tacos are never good if they are not hot. Second bad experience: I got the Grilled Chile-Lime Wild Salmon Taco and the salmon was so overcooked and dry. Overcooked and dry salmon is not acceptable! I don’t think I will ever go back to this location but then other restaurants in the food court are also not that great. I really like shopping in Fashion Valley, maybe I can get delivery for a quick bite to eat next time.
