My first ever storage. I came to use their service while I was under last minute circumstances. Used their storage unit for a year and a half. The best customer service I’ve ever done business with. Always prompt with a call back. Met up with me in person when necessary. Always willing to work with whatever my situation entailed. Simply, great. Always clean and freshly painted and maintained. This is the first time I have reviewed something on Unilocal but I have been very happy with the customer service here. I’m glad to have chosen rocket storage to store my stuff. I chose an indoor unit through the insomniac unit outside. Which made my life so super simple to just go inside. Have the keys already there. Didn’t have to go through any paperwork or extra steps. Which made me very happy, but the real reason I am leaving this review is because when I have had to speak with someone over the phone for the sake of billing or a question the voice on the other end of the line is filled with kindness and trust. Which I find the most valuable. Thank for making this experience a good one!

Fantastic. Customer. Service.
My husband and I feel very lucky to have found this place. We had a hectic, last minute, long distance move — sold as much furniture as we could, took some things to a temporary furnished sublet, and needed storage for, well… all the other stuff. Did not plan this in advance, had a 16′ truck to sort, empty and return the next day. Calling Rocket Storage and reaching Craig was the best part of our move. After he answered all our questions, we hopped online and purchased a month of the unit of our choice.
We have done the storage thing before… expected a dark, dirty dungeon full of spiders, etc. Amazed to find how clean the unit was, and very well lit from the hallway. There was a perfect parking spot out front, making it very easy to unload. The unit even contained a new lock. Literally everything was ready for use.
Partway through we realized we would need a bit more room. Looked at availability online, called Craig again with some more questions, and were able to book an extra, smaller unit right down the hall. Also clean, with lock, and well lit.
This place turned a disaster situation into peace of mind. Thank you Craig!

I inquired about a storage unit because I was trying to crunch numbers on whether or not I should purchase staging materials and then store them, or if I should pay a stager to do it project by project. It hurt my heart a little to think about investing so much money and not having anything to show for it (hiring a stager.) So, I emailed an inquiry over and stated what I was looking for. Craig, one of the owners/​operators, called me back quickly and patiently listened to me go over the pros and cons on the phone. His advice was to pay a stager and NOT deal with having to store furniture. I appreciated his candid and honest answer, especially because that was the option that wouldn’t bring him any business.
I have driven past the storage facility many times, it’s conveniently located behind the Winchell’s Donuts in Point Loma off of Rosecrans. It’s a very nice facility, and well-​taken care of. The owners/​operators are available 24 hours a day by phone.
So, I guess I won’t be using them after all. But I really appreciated their honesty and would definitely rent from them in the future, should the need arise.

Totally excellent service and convenient location. I have no idea what these other reviews are talking about. I needed a smaller unit for a month, was able to arrive from the airport at 4am, sign up on a computer, store my things immediately, and was finished in no time at all. After my first month I realized I no longer required the storage, and the manager had no problem letting me remove my things a couple days late at no extra charge. Just good-​natured hospitality. Thanks for welcoming me to San Diego, Rocket.

This place deserves 0 stars, not even one! They charged me more than they were supposed and after i called and complained they didn’t even bothered to solve the problem, i had to solve the problem with the bank instead to get the refund. Bad customer service and they cheat really bad with money! Be aware of your money here!

We stayed exactly 30 days (maybe 29). Called the owner/​manager to let him know to stop the rebill… was rebilled 2 days later. Maybe he forgot or something, I don’t know. I called to resolve and he said «whoops I saw that too, ill fix it». I appreciate the fact that you may be trying to resolve this, but its kind of too late now that the cash is gone from my account. When it comes to peoples money you cant mess around. What if I cant float $ 240 for 10 days while you fix the mistake? what if I get overdraft fees or bounce a rent check? It sucks and its stressful and I don’t have time to deal with it. All this because you were too busy, or forgot to manage your business.

Horrible customer service. Went back on there word about the rental and ripped me off would never come back glad to be gone. Don’t give these guys your money

This place is pretty pathetic. $ 430 for a 10×10 that doesn’t even have a light in it! I only needed it for 10 days — still charged me the entire $ 430. Total rip off, would never go back to this place
