Comfort Inn San Diego At The Harbor

Pretty much your standard Comfort Inn. Room was clean and up to date, breakfast and wifi was included. Parking is free although you can only get into the lot off westbound Harbor Dr. The location is great, pretty much close to everything in SD.

I love staying at Comfort Inn hotels because like Holiday Inns they serve free breakfast. However this Comfort Inn is beyond ghetto. I reserved two rooms. One room had a shower door and the other did not. When showering water got all over the floors in the extremely cramp bathroom. I asked for a room change due to the door less shower. I explained to the manager that I had two rooms and one room did not have a shower door. The manager AJ kicked me out due to my request. He said no one else had complain. After this experience I will never waste my money on any other Comfort Inn hotel. I would understand if both my rooms had no shower doors, but when one room has one and the other does not and they are the same type of rooms something is wrong. And to be kicked out at 7:00 pm because I asked for Comfort Inns district hotline to make them aware that one room had no shower door I found it shady. I left Comfort Inn and got a room at the Four Points Sheraton down the street for $ 10 more. The Four Points Sheraton was 10 times cleaner and the manager did not act like a complete ass.

Not a bad deal. Room was remodels w flat screen. Linens clean. Don’t like hard floors in rooms… to easy not to vac and pet accidents cane not be cleaned up easy. Tiny bath but good shower. Bed was just fair.
Both blackout shades torn so would not close properly.
Rooms clean but not spic and span as they should be.
Breakfast food. Nice attendant. Good variety. Waffles bagels cereal fruit muffins and decent coffee.
Not sure I would stay again but I’d u r looking for location, a decent room and decent breakfast, give it a try.
On major stree so a little noisy. Not sure how San Diegoans deal with constant airplane noise over their entire city.
Exterior needs attention. Paint, better cleaning. paint the rusted ice machine… it is all in the details of how a guest perceives a property.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful staycation here. The location is perfect because there are many places to eat and drink within walking distance (Pizza Nova, Harbor Town Pub, Old Venice), but it’s a short Über trip to Shelter Island or elsewhere if you’re in the mood for that.
This hotel had a nice pool, nice bed and furniture. The bathroom was just ok, but I didn’t really care. We didn’t make the 9:30am cutoff for the breakfast, so I’m not sure how that is, but the service at the front desk was very friendly and I have no complaints. There’s free wi-​fi and a nice deck on the second floor that overlooks the pool area and is really nice in the evening. I did think the price was a little high for a ChoiceHotels room, but I’m sure that’s only because it’s in Pt. Loma, where everything costs a little more. I would definitely stay here again!

I was in town for business and decided to make a weekend out of it with the family. I booked online and got the confirmation (but apparently didn’t look close enough) because when I got to the hotel I was surprised to find the reservation was not 1 room for 2 nights, but 2 rooms for 1 night. I really think there was a glitch with the booking system, I have no idea how myself and my wife were booked for one room, and my 7 month old son another room by himself. Well the hotel was booked full and it was already 10 PM. The guy working the front desk knew of a possible vacancy and followed up with the occupant who had already left town, so we got a room anyhow. I certainly appreciated the extra effort on his part.
The rooms are about what I expected for the price, no frills. The room seemed really musty and humid despite not being that humid outside– I really think there was a water problem inside the walls. The bathroom was very small but adequate. Parking was VERY tight. I had to move my car in one spot so another guy could get his car out of his spot on the opposite side of the lot. It didn’t help that someone parked a truck and trailer in the parking lot as well. Overall the place could use a good face lift, but I am satisfied with what I got for the money.

Smallest bathroom we have ever seen… water runs hot or cold depending on someone in another room turning water on and off… no shelf in shower for anything except a small bar of soap… noise from thin walls and ceiling… table and lamp on only one side of bed… external lights keep bathroom brightly lit all night… bed is comfortable… fridge, but no microwave…

The towels and sheets were worn out and stained.
The complimentary breakfast is ok (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, and pastries).

First time at a Comfort Inn… Yup. Booked it for the price. We just needed it to sleep and shower while in San Diego. It was just what we needed. It was clean, well attended, parking was free. Breakfast was satisfying. Our bed was big and comfortable. My sister and I are both BIG girls, 5’7″ and 2+, and we were still able to have a shower that left us squeaky clean! Meghan gave us a very late check in, and Lynette answered my MANY questions! Carmen kept us full of sausages and other breakfast items. And EVERY DAY housekeeping kept our rooms tidy! Small and clean, I’d stay here again. :0)

This hotel was ok, but I don’t think I’ll stay here again. The room had an awkward layout, and there was a lot of dead space in the back. There were also a few spiders there! The windows are really thin, so you hear a lot of outside noise. The bathroom and bed were ok.
The workers are incredibly friendly, though! And you get a gift of really useful toiletries!

We were recently in town to go to Sea World and booked this hotel through the Comfort Inn website for a pretty good deal ($ 71 with taxes). I was pretty impressed for it being a two-​star hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious. Our had an odd sitting room off of the main room, but the sofa sleeper in the sitting room was our reason for booking it, so we didn’t care how it was laid out. Our room also had a fridge and microwave, which made it easy to store snacks. As for the bathroom, quite a few other reviewers have commented on the small shower size. Yes, it’s not a full-​size shower, but it’s plenty big for one person. If two people are showering in there, it would obviously be tight, but I look at it this way: if it’s annoying to be squished into a shower with the one you love, you should probably go to marriage counseling. Again, everything was clean (bathroom, bedsheets, carpet) and the room smelled fine (no smoke, mildew, etc.). The one complaint we had was that there isn’t an AC unit or fan in the sitting room, so it was pretty warm for a while and we had to crank the AC in the main room to cool both rooms. We showed up later at night, though. If we had started the AC in the afternoon after a normal 3 pm check-​in, both rooms would probably be comfortable by bedtime.
The breakfast was better than I was expecting. The website shows a few items (cereal, bagels, toast, juice) and some other reviewers said there was hardly any food. When I got to the breakfast room, though, there were those previously mentioned items, plus a waffle maker, yogurt, some hot items (eggs, bacon) and lots of danishes and muffins. The waffles are always a big hit with the kids, and they didn’t disappoint this time. We filled up quite a few plates, brought them back to the room and feasted while watching cartoons. The gentleman that was running the breakfast/​front desk asked me, probably not less than 5 times, if my stay was good and if there was anything he could do to make it better. It wasn’t annoying, either, because he seemed like he was genuinely interested in my welfare.
We took a cab from the airport, and it was about $ 15, with the tip.
I would definitely stay at this Comfort Inn again!

What disgusting place! Hair in our bed, blood on the back of the bathroom door and no small refrigerator as promised! I would never stay there again

This is the nicest comfort inn I have ever stayed in! We spent the previous night at a hostel so this was a huge step up by comparison. All I care about in a hotel are location, clean rooms, clean bathroom, no smoking, nice staff. This hotel had all of those. Yes the parking is tight, but it’s free. No the rooms do not have a view, but you can go outside to see the view. The bathroom was tiny but it’s a bathroom at a Comfort Inn — what do you expect?

Stayed here over the weekend. Most Unilocal’s are correct. Tiny bathrooms are the take away. Clean, centrally located and cheap are the trade offs.

The reason I booked a room at a Comfort Inn hotel, which happens to be a brand of Comfort Suites is simply because of my experience at the one I had stayed at in Arizona not to long ago. Well well well I think next time I’ll have to pay the extra money to stay in a nicer place, you definitely get what you pay for here.
Since we are on a budget and who isn’t these days the way the economy is going, I decided on this location for my night of relaxation after our big Unilocal Party downtown. D’uh you would think since I’m a Unilocaler I would of totally looked this place up before even booking a room but silly me was so excited about the fact of surprising my husband it completely slipped my mind!!! Next time I know to check check check it up on Unilocal before I just go and book book book!!!

Even though the entire hotel was smoke free and practiced the Go Green act it still smelled musty in there like someone once did smoke in that place. I actually felt like it used to be a set of apartments that they turned into hotel rooms. I probably won’t ever stay here again but I’m not going to stop staying at Comfort Inn Suites or Hotels that’s for sure!

The Comfort Inn at the Harbor is an inexpensive place to stay in San Diego, if you want to be somewhat close to downtown.
It is near «Pizza Nova» which rates it one star.
The people at the front desk are very nice, very helpful.
They got us a taxi to the Gaslamp in short order.
Check in and check out were very smooth.
The second star for them …
The room was small but serviceable … we just wanted a place to crash after a night on the town.
No extra star, maybe a half of one …
The shower was microscopic — I was not sure I could squeeze through the door and I was positive that I could not turn around in the shower … so I skipped that opportunity.
Everything looks old in the room, the bed, the dresser, the TV …
even though the literature states that there are 46 remodeled rooms in the hotel.
What did the rooms look like before the remodeling ???
They have a «sort of» continental breakfast in the morning.
My experience with the Inn is «serviceable.»
You get what you pay for.
