An honest business!!! I thought there was a problem with the vacuum, but I had pushed a wrong button. Jeremy showed me my mistake. He could easily have fooled me but he didn’t. I’m so happy to find an honest business that I had to share.

Rainbow Service Center is a great place to take your vacuum and carpet cleaners for knowledgeable, competent, thorough assessment and repair, if it can be repaired. This is a classic All American small business which specializes in these appliances but is willing an open-​minded to evaluating whatever you need repaired. I just dropped-​off my ion air purifier which simply quit. Jeremy called me and explained in scientific detail why it is not worth time, money and effort to repair and he even checked to see how much a replacement would cost me. This is service we all need to experience these days. I also took a very valuable football signed by 2 dozen NFL Hall of Fame Players which has a damaged air filling nozzle. Paul, the owner, and Jeremy his top technician told me that they evaluated it and decided to hand in back due to the need for someone who specializes in this type of repair. They also sell refurbished units, filters, belts and other supplies. You should expect honesty in today’s retail fix-​it market; this business deserves your consideration. The service is pretty slow, I had to call them to find out what was up with my sewing machine, but over all I’m pleased. I was originally told the fix would cost $ 90-​$ 120 and they are charging me $ 70.

Had a super old but very expensive Oreck vacuum that suddenly stopped working. After having spent the better part of twenty minutes attempting to self-​diagnose and fix it, naturally I was unsuccessful.
I found these guys through the aid of Unilocal (gotta love y’all!!!) and the men here fixed it in less than ten minutes at a reasonable price and I walked out with what seems to be a brand new vacuum! Fortunately for my ego it was not something I could have repaired on my own as it needed a new roller brush lolol. But regardless, I’d definitely recommend them to anyone need of any type of vacuum related service!

Definitely take your business else where lazy people and poor communication. Not recommended.

I really wanted to give these guys a good rating! About 1 month ago I went in asking for a new roller brush for my vacuum and they said it needed to be ordered. They asked to keep my vacuum till it was fixed… So glad I said no. I got a call maybe 2.5 weeks later and they mixed me up with another customer, then said sorry and told me my part was ready. I went in 2 days later and waited 10 minutes for them to say it wasnt in. Called today another almost 2 weeks later and they said oops the parts have been in for a while. I asked how much it would be and he replied «I think 20, definitely not over 25», but it ended up costing me $ 40. I just needed to get my vacuum fixed and far away from there. Ugh.

To be fair they are not a dyson service center. They did do a diagnostic, They called me back the next day and told me they could not fix the vac. Actually they told me it would cost me to much to fix the vac. I ended up taking the vac to a dyson service center and it was repaired under warranty (very good service, but thats another review).
I would have been more impressed if they would have let me know that a dyson service center may be able to help me.
They did however seem to be knowledgable.

Ugh, I was researching this place under a different name and did not stumble across the reviews until AFTER I took my sewing machine in. I wish I had found this beforehand. I have a two-​year old Brother sewing machine that got snagged up during a project and I could tell needed to be re-​timed. I called around, this place was closest to me and I asked if I could bring it in today for a fast-​turn around (like I said, I was in the middle of a project). He assured me that I certainly could. I dropped it off on a Thursday at 3 and told him it just needed to be re-​timed. No word come Monday so I called to check on it and the repair guy hadn’t even been into the shop due to inclement weather. Ha! Apparently rain is termed ‘inclement weather’. Whatever. No word come Wednesday, so I called again and the guy said he had been meaning to call and he determined it needed to be re-​timed and quoted me $ 90. DUH! I said it needed to be re-​timed when I dropped it off. Okay, he will fix it today. No word come Friday so I call again and another guy says he hasn’t even touched it yet. 8 days later, WAY behind on my project and still no repair. I am off to pick up the machine and find another place to do the repair. Stay away. There are plenty of other shops in the area and I’m off to test a few myself.

They’re great. Don’t let the shop fool you. :) They know what they’re doing and they’re honest. Be prepaired to PAY for their services — esp. if you have a Rainbow which isn’t a cheap vacuum to begin with!

I have been taking my Rainbow vac to this shop for 10+ years and I have never had anything but EXCELLENT service. They are friendly, professional and ALWAYS willing to help. I would recommend them to anyone with a vacuum or sewing machine that needs service. It doesn’t get any better than this!

I took my vacuum to Rainbow Service Center despite the poor review I found here — mostly because it was the closest location. I had an EXCELLENT experience. As soon as I got there the repair guy opened it up and started to find the problem. My complaint was that the cord was stuck about halfway out. My vacuum otherwise worked great and it was a medium priced machine — expensive to me. I expected it was just tangled and just needed to be rewound, but I could not figure out how to get to it myself. It turned out to be a little more serious — the winding mechanism was broken. He tried to work with it — spent a long time at it, but in the end I had the choice of ordering a part, or he could fix it so the cord stayed outside the machine and I would have to wind it myself, but I could have all the cord available when I vacuumed. I chose this option. They even offered to give me a velcro strap so I could neatly wind it up. THE PRICE WAS RIGHT, AND THE SERVICE EXCELLENT. I am sure they cannot fix everyone’s problems immediately as they wait, but I am sure glad they accommodated me this way. The conversation while they worked and I waited was pleasant too.

I would NOT recommend this shop for any vacuum repair. Today was my 2^nd time in the shop for service/​repairs. The first time I was in the shop, 3 years ago, was to service my $ 1500 Rainbow vacuum that had never been cleaned. I wasn’t particularly happy with the work that was actually done for the $ 110.00 I was charged. Basically, he cleaned it out but didn’t repair or replace anything but a $ 4.00 band!!! I ranted & raved to my husband about it for awhile and ultimately made future repairs at another local shop, which due to the economy closed recently.
Since it’s been a few years and I now have a less expensive Target bought vacuum I thought I would give it another try… I found out quickly that this was a bad decision. First, he quoted me $ 69.95 to clean a «clogged» vacuum. Then he had the nerve to accuse me, or someone is my household, of having removed one of the two filters. Then he re-​quoted me a higher price… it went from $ 69.95 to $ 79.95 in the same conversation. I knew the first time that this guy was overcharging me but I gave him a second chance to prove me wrong. Unfortunately, he is a crook and I would recommend that if you need your vacuum fixed, find some other repair shop to do the work.
Now it makes sense why there’s a graveyard (literally) of vacuums in this guy’s shop. I don’t trust him and neither should you!

Very friendly service, albeit maybe not the most efficient. They thought my phone number was 760 instead of 714, so that held up some things. In the end I got my hoover fixed for $ 50 and it works like new! When they called to tell me what was wrong with it, he rattled off a list of this that needed to be replaced and I thought it was going to be expensive, but that wasn’t the case.
If you are in a hurry don’t be chatty with Paul, or he will talk your ear off.
