We repair, install, upgrade and service pool and spa equipment — including heaters, pumps, filters, skimmers, automation systems, chlorinators, ORP, and salt systems. We can also remodel your pool including tile, coping, plaster, water features, decking, and stone accents. California Contractors License Number C53−883 611.

Pool equipment brands include Pentair, Hayward, Raypak, Jandy, Zodiac, and Sta-​Rite.

Spa brands we repair and service include Jacuzzi, Bullfrog, Caldera, Cal Spas, LA Spas, Dimension One, Coleman, Sundance, Coast, Hot Springs, and Artesian Spas.

We provide energy audits on pool systems and make recommendations on how to lower your monthly SDG&E bill.

We also offer weekly and bi-​monthly cleaning/​maintenance service, seasonal filter cleanings, chemical check ups, spa tune ups, acid washes, and algae clean up. Our bi-​monthly service begins at $ 100 per month for an average backyard pool.

Established in 2006.

Having spent several years working in the Sportfishing industry and then on dry land for Pacific Bell we started Pure Water Pool and Spa, Inc as a way to leverage our technical and business experience while being able to work outdoors. After 10 years we are still going strong and look forward to meeting you, our next customer.

My name is Robert Hill and with my wife of 26 years, Laura, I started and continue to operate Pure Water Pool and Spa, Inc. Our goal is to partner with our customers to keep your pool and spa safe and in top working condition. We believe in proactive maintenance rather than reactive repairing. Our first question to all new customers is «Who do you trust in your backyard?»

I am a graduate of SDSU and a long time resident of San Diego. I am a member in good standing of IPSSA (Independent Pool and Spa Service Association) and APSP (Association of Pool and Spa Professionals.)

Pure Water holds a $ 3,000,000 liability policy and is licensed and incorporated in compliance with the State of California. Our employees are all covered under Workers Compensation Insurance and Commercial Truck Insurance. They all hold CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certifications. Additionally, they are paid on an hourly basis not by the pool — a big plus for you, the homeowner.

Laura is hands-​down the best contractor I’ve dealt with to date. We needed a pool person ASAP and had no idea where to go. I found Laura on Unilocal.We’ve been using them since January and have found them to be just amazing. They’re reliable, dependable, extremely knowledgeable, and always have a quick solution to any issue we may experience. We use them for our monthly maintenance, and will be using them next Spring to resurface our pool and replace the pool decking. A+!

The folks at Pure Water Pool and Spa did great work for us recently. Our pump and plumbing to the pool and spa needed major reworking and they handled the work professionally and timely. Both Rob and Laura were great to work with. Honest, professional, always on time and returned phone calls promptly. When the work was taking longer than anticipated (not the fault of PWP&S), Laura came to the house to ensure chemical levels were good so that we wouldn’t have to waste precious water by draining the pool. Highly recommended.

My wife and I were new to Jamul. We had a pool in need of repairs, didn’t know who to call or trust. Got lucky! Called Pure Water. Genuine folks. Laura and Robert are great. Still using Pure Water Pool & Spa for our pool needs– Robert and Laura take good care of our equipment so we don’t need to see them that often ;) but it’s always a pleasure when they come over! We needed our annual filter cleaning and not only did Robert do that but he (without me even asking) tested the chemicals and swept the pool. How NICE is that? Sadly it’s hard to get good customer service anymore, but this company definitely delivers excellent service and then some. I’d give them 6 stars if I could!

I spent some time on Unilocal to decide who we wanted to use for our service. We made the right choice. I called Laura, we chatted on the phone and set up an appointment within days. She immediately laid out the plan of action and was there the next day to treat and the following day as well to ensure it was working. Wonderful personalized service from really kind people.

These people are the real deal. Very rarely do you find truly honest people with integrity in business. I called about a pool problem and spoke with Laura. She gave me all kinds of advice on how I could fix it myself (backwash the filter) … which meant I would not need to hire them for service. That was impressive. I did end up needing service so her husband, Robert came out and fixed the problem and also diagnosed my spa, and told me to just get a used one rather than spend $ 700 in repairs. Again, benefitting me and not their business. I talked to him about getting a salt water system and he talked me out of it because they have expensive upkeep. Wow. Imagine that … running a business with honesty rather than trying to convince your customer to buy your service and products that they don’t need. It really renewed my faith in people in general. Also, they were so friendly and kind. Great people — great service.

I called for a start of pool season FNS+ filter cleaning. Laura promptly gave me a convenient date/​time confirmed appointment and provided me with the name of the service technician, David.
David actually called me about 9:00 the day of the appointment to tell me to tell me he was on his way as scheduled and would arrive within 20 minutes, which he did. The filter was cleaned efficiently, o-​ring replaced, and DE re-​primed. David also replaced the top manifold which was unfortunately cracked. David was very helpful when we talked about filter grid life, filter pump times, chlorine settings, and various water chemistry topics.
I also found Laura’s web site provided sufficiently detailed information that made my choice for filter service straightforward.
I definitely recommend and will certainly call Pure Water Pool & Spa again for my next pool service or repair.

I had purchased a new variable speed pump and new filter valve to upgrade our pool equipment but hadn’t had time to install it yet. Our old motor suddenly died so I decided to save myself the time and hassle and call in a professional. I found Pure Water Pool and Spa through Unilocal.The reviews were all top notch so I figured I would give them a try. The scheduling was quick and easy and Rob did a great job hooking everything up. He even noticed some small air leaks in the other old valves and told us how to fix them to save us some money. Rob and Laura are true professionals. Rob showed up when he said he would and the work was finished on time. Our equipment has never worked this well.
I have used 3 different companies that our home warranty company sent and all of those companies proved to be frustrating to deal with. Rob and Laura have earned all the 5 star recommendations. They are our go to people for all of our pool needs.

I found Pure Water Pool and Spa on Unilocal.After reading the reviews, I knew these were the people I wanted working my brand newly installed salt water in-​ground pool. The friendly husband and wife team work great together, both with the scheduling and pool side water treatments. Bob takes him time in explaining the chemical process to me, which is very important for a life time of enjoying my pool.

We thought our spa had died but decided to give it one more chance and called Pure Water Pool & Spa and asked Robert to see what he could do. That man is AMAZING!!! He spent two days trying to fix the problem with a «never say never» attitude, found the problem (it was electrical at our breaker box) replaced the part, the part was bad. Went out to get another one, spent more time trying to make it fit in our old equipment. SUCCESS!!! He is reasonable, honest, always on time and even loved our dogs :) Very nice family run business and a pleasant wife on the business end. I wish I could give him more than 5 stars, I sent him to my daughter’s house next to see if he could work his miracles there. Kudos to Pure Water Pool & Spa, Inc.

We purchased our house as a foreclosure and our pool was left in extremely bad shape. We called Pure Water Pool and Spa for the clean up of our pool and hot tub. Robert Hill is a miracle worker! He not only cleaned our pool and hot tub but replaced the filter, which was shot, and a couple of valves that were clogged and/​or broken. He also repaired the grout around the pool and did some troubleshooting on our heater. Robert Hill spent several days working out at our property in Alpine. He explained everything he was doing, step-​by-​step, and showed us how to maintain our pool, including how to backflush the filter. Our pool is as good as new!
As an extra bonus to the wonderful service that was provided, Robert Hill came by free of charge for a service check up a month later. During his visit he explained more about our system and took apart our filter for cleaning.

We had a very old pool heater, and it finally stopped working when we tried to start it up this summer. We decided it was time to purchase a new pool heater for our home in Tierrasanta. We did a search through Service Magic
to find someone to install a pool heater for us because it was hard to find any such professionals through Unilocal.
Through Service Magic, we found Pure Water Pool & Spa. The owner, Robert Hill, came out for the initial estimate. He was prompt, knowledgeable, and extremely through in explaining the details of the job, as well as examining what we needed. He even took off the front door panel of our old heater to see what what was needed for the job. He quoted us a reasonable price, and the job was completed promptly. Robert has amazing customer service skills, and is a genuinely nice person to work with. If you need someone to work on your pool heater or pool pumps, Pure Water Pool is the company for you. We highly recommend this company.
