Point Loma Smog

I was really nervous looking for a smog check on my ’92 van. You hear horror stories of shops giving you the run around and charge you for work you don’t need. Before going to Pt. Loma Smog I had called several other shops that could not smog an older model vehicle, or had their machines broken.
Luckily– I called here and they said to come on in, no appointment needed. I arrived and was helped immediately (hooray!). There were no hidden fees or extras. I had my invoice written up and the gentleman got started right away. While I was waiting, two other customers arrived and even though he was working alone, he was able to greet them while the tests were running on my van. I stepped outside and went next door to grab a sandwich at the BrownBag and when I got back he was just finishing up. All was well, though if I hadn’t passed, they do a free re-​test. Out the door for Smog, Evap test and Certificate $ 63. I’m happy and I will go back.

Don’t waste your time and money going anywhere else. Excellent service (done in less than 15 minutes) and price. I bring all my cars here, and will continue to do so.

Simple process, in and out before I was done checking the email on my phone. Nice workers and the price is right. Honestly I have no other place to compare this to because I don’t typically find myself shopping around when it comes to a smog check.

This is a store me and my family have had smog done for our cars for many years. Very trustworthy, with kind service, and includes a large and comfortable parking space. There also includes a space to be able to read magazines or walk around for lunch. Although they do not advertise a free retest, once when my car failed we were given a free retest. My house has many cars and have had our cars done here for many years and rely this place greatly. Very quick, one car takes about 20 minutes. Excellent service I would recommend for everyone. The man who did my car was very kind when my car failed and explained to me what was wrong. I will always continue coming here, because of the fast, kind, and superb service!

Service was fast, friendly, and cost-​effective! One guy runs the show but his service was fantastic. I had no appointment and a car was already in the bay and another customer arrived while I was there. But, this guy treated me like I was the only customer he had all day — and I was in and out in less than 25 minutes. Amazing speed and efficient service while handling several customers — impressive. It is a pleasure to recommend this company.

I couldn’t reach them on the phone, but when I showed up, I realized that there was only one guy working the Smog Station. I had to pop my head in to get his attention, so if you go, don’t just wait at the window.
If it weren’t for the contact issues, I would have given a 5 Star.
That said, the service was excellent and friendly, the smog check was super fast, they transmit directly to the DMV. $ 50 without a coupon.

If you’re looking for an easy place to get your car smog-​checked, this is it. I was in and out in about 30 minutes this weekend, and it was quick and painless. For $ 50, it was good value, and if you fail, they will do the re-​check for free. Since they only do smog checks and not repairs you don’t feel like they’re going to scam you. The waiting room leaves something to be desired, but I guess you can’t expect too much from a car place!
