This place is clean, the staff was cordial to myself and to each other. I saw Dr. Tornay. It has been a long time since I’d seen a dentist and they were great– no weird teeth shaming! The general «vibe» of a doctor’s office is very important to me, and this one had it. Pair that with timely, professional service and you’ve got a patient for as long as I’m in San Diego!

I have looked high and low for a good dentist /​oral specialist. Living in Beverly Hills you would think I could find someone who was above par locally. I must say the lovely drive down the coast to Dr. Shaw’s office is worth every minute. I recently had implants placed to correct an ongoing problem. Dr. Peter Shaw provided the best service and price for such procedure. I no longer have the ongoing pain in my ear canal area, as I have had to endure over the past year. Somehow the nerve was being bothered in that area and Dr. Shaw understood what needed to be done to correct the pain issue. Dr. Peter Shaw is a true scholar in his field. The implant is like a piece of art, and no one could ever tell that it was not one of my original teeth. I wasn’t in pain at this recent Academy Awards Ceremony /​:-) I even sent Dr. Shaw a smile from the red carpet. I hope your staff enjoyed that photo… Thanks so much

I’ve been coming here since childhood. It’s hard to find a dentist I feel comfortable with, so even when I didn’t live in San Diego for over a decade, I always scheduled dentist appointments for when I came to town to visit.
Fortunately I haven’t had teeth issues for a long time, so my visits these days are mostly just cleanings. Michelle is my favorite dental hygienist. She’s gentle but thorough in her cleaning. She’s also been very helpful over the years, balancing my concerns (or my parents’ back in the day) with current research about degrees of abrasion for toothpaste, fluoride, gum recession, and frequency of x-​rays.
The parking lot is very small, but they will give you quarters for the meter if they’re full.

Dr. Shaw is the area’s best dentist. I was a dental assistant for over 5 years and moved to the San Diego area 2 years ago and am very picky about chosing a dentist. This office is caring and does excellent, ethical work, and that suprisingly is hard to find these days. I would and do reccomend Dr. Shaw to anyone looking for a dentist.

Dr. Shaw is a GEM!!! Intelligent, funny and an overall wonderful person.
I would highly recommend Dr. Shaw if your getting implants done on your teeth.
There is no pressure from him to get the implants done.
He is great at explaining.
Once you meet him, you will want to continue to stay in contact with him.
He is that GREAT of a person.

Dr Shaw and Celeste ROCK! The front desk person, Sue, is so friendly and nice.
The «insurance person» could do a better job with following up and getting back to patients in a timely manner.
Overall– a really good office and a gentle and smart dentist.

I have been going to Dr. Shaw for my whole life. My teeth are a big mess (I am missing eleven teeth, my gums have been operated on, blah blah blah) and Dr. Shaw has somehow given me a completely normal looking smile :) When I was a kid, he was very gentle with all of those awful gum anesthetic shots…
He is very friendly and has great dental hygenists. I always try and get an appointment with Celeste. She is wonderful! She always remembers what we talked about when I was in last and does a great job cleaning my teeth.
I know a good, honest densit can be hard to find and I am so happy to have Dr. Shaw!
