Outstanding selection of craft beer including many rare beers. Highly recommend for any craft beer fans.

They are all very nice. Great sandwiches. They let you use coupons here. None of the others stores will. Thanks, Heidi

I am a regular late evening customer here, great everything, ranging from deli sandwiches to craft beers and all sorts of stuff between. Great sales sometimes and delicious liquors, both the regulars(captain, crown, jose, etc.) and the not so regulars(apple whiskey, sugar rum, etc.) Highly recommended!

Damn fine sandwiches! Had to stop here for work and had heard the deli was pretty good, so I made a point to try it out(comped by an employee – thanks!!!). Got a #8 which is turkey, bacon, cheddar, AND avocado! Yes, all four yummies in one sandwich! Choice of bread and lots of condiments like olives, banana peppers, pickles, jalapeños, red onion, etc. This was as good or better than some of the professionals delis in office buildings downtown(and I Ioved the one in the Wells Fargo building). Liquor selection looked pretty good too. I definitely recommend!

Up until today, I used to go there for convenience since I live around the corner. I had an extreme craving for some Funions, so my husband and I went to this place. As we were entering the store, we heard loud commotion of one person saying, «What did I do?» and another, assuming the owner of the store, yelling back to the guy, «Get out of here! I don’t want you here! I don’t like your kind anyways!!» I did NOT like how the owner/worker treated that guy. I’m sure the guy probably did something wrong that made the store owner/worker pissed. And of course I know it is the store owners/workers’ rights to refuse service to people… but he didn’t need to say«your kind.» What«kind» is he referring to? Being of Middle Eastern descent, I’m sure HE wouldn’t appreciate being referred to as «your kind.» We thought it was very rude of the owner/worker to mistreat anyone in such a way. In any case, we decided to walk out and refuse to give our business here, FOREVER!!!

My review is for the deli only as I’ve never purchased liquor here. I’ve stopped by a couple of times here for lunch. This place has the most amazing Sandwiches. Old school classic style Deli. Chain sub shops have nothing on this place when it comes to flavor and quantity. And the prices are unbeatable. Avocado on regular Subs is a dollar extra and they don’t skimp on quantity like other places do. May I recommend the house special #8. Turkey, Bacon & Avocado on a foot long. The onion roll bread is my favorite but a foot long is too much sandwich unless I’m sharing. The Rye bread is also delicious… All the guys who work here are very polite and friendly also. I highly recommend it if you’re in the neighborhood!

Don’t judge a book by its cover. The exterior could use some help. They have a deli which had really really good sandwiches. Try the BLT! The store has a great selection of alcohol and other items. The customer service is hit or miss here! I’ve been coming here about 6 years and they either treat me like family or like I’m the homeless guy sleeping behind their store. The night crew is great! Rocky who owns the store is usually never friendly. They have check cashing but will charge you an arm and a leg to cash.

I have been coming here for years. I always cash my paycheck here,(When I don’t have an active bank account). They are as legit as you can get. They do get a ton of junior high/high schoolers so there are theft issues obviously. They all pile in the store at once with their backpacks, right after school. So for everyone saying they are unfriendly. You are most likely not a regular patron. They are very good to their customers. They have a great selection of beers & wines. They are also extremely knowledgeable about the products they sell. They also have an awesome deli. $ 5 subs all day. They are all brothers. They treat you like family. They have a security guard that stands around the front of the store. That solves the creepy parking lot issue. They also have cameras everywhere. I no longer live in Clairemont but I still use them to cash my checks. 1%.

Please ignore the racists who have posted negative reviews on Par Liquor. The guys that run this place are a group of brothers who also own /run Jimbo’s liquor. However, they are very nice and greet me everytime I come into the store. Great selection of beer and wine. No idea why some give them a bad review. Obviously they like to hate on anyone that wasn’t born in America. I am happy to give these guys my money, and they have great prices on the wine selection. Highly recommend this store!

This little store has a wonderful selection of boutique beers, a fairly extensive collection of wines, and a very good deli. What sets it apart from dozens of similar shops is the knowledge of the staff(about the beers and wines) and the friendliness of the staff. After years of patronizing this establishment, they almost feel like family. We can get most of the products for less elsewhere, however we choose to go to Par because of this. They make a little neighborhood out of a great big city. Leah; Par customer since the beginning.

I’m always conflicted about giving away my secret spots, but since I can’t drink it all myself, I’ll put it out there for the seekers: Pliny the Elder.

I always get a wierd feeling when I’m in here, something really shady. THe parking lot creeps me out, and the bars on the windows don’t really say anything good about it. There are so many freaking liquor stores in the area, there’s really no reason to go here.

Man, fuck these guys. They run Jimbo’s liquor, right down Derrick Dr, but this is seriously where they put the second stringers. Walked in with a buddy and heard one cashier say to another, «These guys haven’t worked a day in their life.» Grabbed what I needed, went to the counter and mentioned to Mr I-Wear-Gold-Chains-to-my-Job-as-a-Cashier that I had a long day of sitting on my ass, not working. He responded that he can tell, ’cause he was used to the kind of work they made him do while incarcerated. Cool beans, buddy, you keep failing at life, I’ll stop giving you my money.
