I enjoyed the japenese clam chowder and the burger. Chowder was the real winner. Great service sitting at the bar. Very glad I ate here before going into the gate 1,2 area where there is little/nothing to choose from.

WOW, I’m still thinking about the salmon sandwich! Mmmmm… fly me right back through the Terminal 1 at San Diego airport!(FYI, this spot is pre-security) It’s seriously been almost a week, and I’m still thinking about the sandwich. And the Bloody Mary’s. Really, some of the best airport food I’ve ever had. **Really great service from Christian the bartender! Super nice and friendly, and made me two mean Smoked Tito’s Bloody Mary’s. Comes with a pickle, two stuffed olives, and a nice little kick. Awesome. ** Sugar-Spiced Salmon Sandwich… fresh, perfectly-grilled salmon, one of the best salmon sandwiches I’ve ever had!(usually they end up too dry). Comes on a Mexican torta roll with red onion, arugula, and lemon-caper mayo — great combination. SOGOOD! Was recommended the sandwich by some other fellow patrons at the bar raving about it — and damn, it did not disappoint. Personally, I recommend getting a side of the housemade yam chips instead of the pesto pasta salad(which was kinda bland and flavorless). ** Mulligatawny Soup… A hearty curry, chicken, wild rice soup that is very tasty and filling. Added a dash of Tabasco on top for a little kick, and it was delicious. ** If you don’t like fish, the(juicy) chicken sandwich also does not disappoint! My boyfriend got it, and I had to steal two bites instead of just the one :)

Good food, the breeze burger was amazing along with the yam chips. I’m only taking a star off for the cocktail prices. They are way overpriced at $ 15 – 18.

They don’t show the drink prices for a reason. I had one margarita wasn’t even strong and the sizes are small too and not worth the price. I paid 15.99 for a margarita and with taxes was a 17.00 drink for well tequila. These types of tricks are uncalled for.

Service was great, very fast and friendly. More importantly, they were helpful. I’d never tried mulligatawny soup before, and, unsolicited, the cashier offered to go to the back to bring me a sample. I don’t really like curry generally, but this was delicious and hit the spot after two long flights all the way from DC.

Decent burger. But I just paid $ 3 for an Arnold Palmer. Server was slow and in an incredibly bad mood. Avoid.

I was surprised how good the food was here. I think the café is an off shoot of the Del Mar seaside location. I wasn’t expecting much because of the other reviews I’ve been reading, but my husband and I were hungry and we were willing to try anything. We went in and sat down and a server noticed us instantly. She was nice and friendly and pregnant. I’m mentioning that because I know how it feels to be walking around all day while your pregnant and sometimes you are not in the best of moods, but she was very pleasant. She gave us our waters right away and the drinks we ordered. I had a bloody mary and my husband got an IPA on tap(I don’t remember which one, but he liked it) As for my bloody mary, I did not like it at all. Bleh. Wasn’t very good. Too much pepper and tabasco. Way more vodka than tomato juice. I ordered a Grilled Salmon salad and my hubby ordered a Steak Salad. Both were very good. The salmon and the steak on both salads were tasty and cooked perfectly. We finished it all and was stuffed, but I was craving something sweet afterwards and wanted dessert. They don’t offer any dessert and only had muffins displayed in the counter. No problem, we’ll just get it somewhere else. Overall, a good place to eat in the airport for a sit down restaurant.

Stood at counter for a few until a bartender from the nearby bar came over. She told us since we were going to stay to eat we had to sit in the bar for a waitress. Walk over there but two guys were taking up half the space plugging in their laptops. I’m all for having the outlets in the airport, but NOT in an eating or drinking area. Total rudeness on their part! We sit at the long table past the deli, but had to avoid stepping in spilled water and food on the floor… Ordered the chicken sandwich and yam chips to split with my wife. The sandwich was pretty good; tasty moist chicken breast with a carmelized raisin onion sauce. The yam chips were ok. Not a lot of flavor. The waitress was very nice and not only split our sandwich between two plates but also put a good sized portion of chips on both plates! She is what earned the fourth star…

Breakfast was pretty good. Staff was ok. Good place to have breakfast at the airport. It was not crowded the morning I visited which was nice.

Got to the airport 3 hours early(due to check out time at the hotel) and we were told we could only check in 2 hours early. So we went here for some drinks(it’s in the airport pre-security. As expected prices are soaring high but the portions are carryon sized and the drinks aren’t strong by any means. We also ordered the Japanese clam chowder and some chicken curry soup they were tasty and had a better size to price ratio. Bottom line… Next time we won’t arrive 3 hours early to this airport.

This made for a decent and fresh lunch inside of Terminal 1 at the airport. I had been disappointed by the offerings in Terminal 2 and walked in search of something fresh and healthy. Pacifica Breeze caught my eye because there was no line and plenty of tables. The cashier confused me some when she said it was 3 to 5 minutes for a to-go meal, or 15 minutes for it on a plate. Was the plate really that much extra effort? In any case, I ordered a Thai salad with grilled chicken, to go.(Sadly, their website and Facebook are very out of date, and neither list this menu item). It cost about $ 12. Just a few minutes later, she brought me my salad in a clamshell box. I was pleased that it wasn’t an itty bitty salad. The chicken looked like a serving size, maybe 4 – 5 ounces. The overall taste was pretty good. The salad was fresh and crunchy, and the mango and other ingredients added good texture; I liked the peanut dressing, even if there seemed to be a bit much. The chicken was warm and tasted like it had been freshly grilled, likely to reheat it, as it was a bit dry. It was still totally edible, and I bet it was still better than the pre-packed rubbery chicken salads found throughout the airport. I left satisfied and the food sat well in my belly – I needed that energy to head downtown and confront Comic-Con! I do wish there were other local food options around the airport, but this worked out okay.

Landed at San Diego airport and decided to have a quick drink while I waited for my ride and was told they were shutting down. This was at 8:40 when they close at 9. I convinced the bartender to give me a beer but she didn’t seem happy to serve me. I then watched her turn several customers away even though they said they would hurry. Gave it one star because I enjoyed the beer but clearly they don’t depend on customer service… I’ve been to countless airports and this was the worst service.

4 star for the burger that I ate here. The sauce and the bacon complement the burger perfectly. Vegetables were pretty fresh too. Not the best bun used, but it did the job. 2 star for the chips that come with it… I didn’t care for those at all.

No happy bartenders at Pacifica today. Took five minutes to get a beer after the fast food server saw my desperation and went and pulled a very unhappy bartender from the kitchen. Bar is full of basketball watchers who I guess aren’t drinking much… Maybe that is the reason for the poor disposition. For a bar in SD to have only two very commercial IPA’s on their menu is a sin… But I guess it is the airport so any port in a storm…

I’m going to have a long day of travel and this is the perfect spot to start my day. I had the scrambled eggs and bacon today. Fresh & tasty. Great service at the bar, super quick getting the food out. I also love the sugar spices salmon, and would vote for that every time for an afternoon or evening meal, but it’s only 9am! The bloody Mary’s looked good, but didn’t try one.

This is a really great airport restaurant! I had the signature dish, the sugar spiced salmon salad. The salmon was fresh tasting and prepared well. My greens were fresh and crisp and the house made sesame dressing was delicious. My husband enjoyed the Breeze Burger flavorful and juicy and he enjoyed the caramelized onions and saga cheese on it. The saga cheese was like blue cheese but more mild. The burger also came with yam chips. Service was also very good. If you need to stop for a salad, soup, sandwich or burger you might want to give this place a try.
