Pacific Breeze Apartments

I have been living here since 4/10/2013.This place is an oasis in a desert of bad apartments. The price is reasonable, bedroom is huge, the pool is clean, neighbors are friendly, the gym is clean and the management actually cares. Whenever I call or email Beverly I always get a response. Her and her husband have been very helpful and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Here’s the deal. All of the prior reviews are from 2009. New management came in as we began renting in 2010. Our experience has been so much different. Most people living here are either older military or families. It is really quiet and has the best property managers I have ever had. Maintenance is out of this world! Any small problem I’ve had in the past almost 3 years is fixed within a few days.
It’s gated, it has its own washer and dryer facility and it even has a pool. There is a gym with a treadmill, spin bike, weights, and an elliptical. You can have your own closed garage that locks. It is a 5 minute drive from the beach. I think that you need to come give it a walk through to see how much it has changed. I know many of my neighbors and everyone seems happy and friendly here. I personally, have never been happier. We live in a studio for about $ 950 a month which you really can’t beat to be this close to the ocean. $ 950 includes water, garbage and recycle service. A 1 bedroom is about $ 1175.
There is even a slough with wildlife right next to where you park! I will say that you do have some planes flying overhead because you are so close to the airport but its really about maybe 3 – 5 times a day? If you work like I do, you’ll probably never hear them!

I have lived here with my fiancé for nearly three years. I have thoroughly enjoyed residing here for all of that time. This is mainly due to having the same awesome apartment managers, superb maintenance staff, and the amenities offered for what we pay. The majority of the bad reviews for Pacific Breeze originated when there was a previous apartment manager from before 2009 who didn’t have the knowledge and experience that the current ones do. The current managers are efficient, and they follow through with their every intention. William the maintenance man is so devoted to his job there and he’s one of the hardest workers I know. As far the bang for my buck at our apartment complex, the amenities provided to us for the reasonable amount of rent we pay is a solid deal. Pacific Breeze offers free garbage and recycle service that is picked up weekly. The water is free. There is a nice gym on site to take advantage of with great workout equipment. The laundry facilities are modern. There is a pool in the middle of the apartments. Each resident gets their own garage or convenient parking spot inside a gated parking lot. The whole complex gives a very secure feeling due to being gated and locked.
If you want to talk about location, Pacific Breeze is a short 5 minutes from the beach. There is a protected slough right next to the place that provides for a nice constant breeze, and the wildlife there is abundant. The apartments are quiet due to chill neighbors. Some might argue that the airplane noise overhead is excessive due to our close proximity to the airport, but how do the other 1.3 Million San Diego residents deal with it while living in the city limits? They take the good with the bad and realize that most people in the United States would give their left arm to live here full time. Also, the complainers could shut their windows.

I loved living at Pacific Breeze. It was small, quiet and felt very safe. There were a lot of residents who had lived there for 20+ years. Management lives on site and are very receptive to any questions or complaints. I loved Beverly. I wasn’t a fan of her husband at all but she takes care of most things so I didn’t have to deal with him very much.
My apartment was very clean when I moved in and the grounds were kept well manicured as well. The laundry room was always clean and I never had to wait for washers or dryers. A garage comes with the apartment and you can get an extra spot if you need one which is good since street parking is an issue. My apartment was upstairs and overlooked the Famosa Slough which was nice. The closet space is what sold me on the place. It’s fantastic! I had a one bedroom and it was so spacious compared to a lot of others I looked at. I also got a wonderful breeze every time I opened my windows. It never got hot at all which is good since like most apartments in the area they do not have a/​c. The sunsets were beautiful as well. I’ve been a renter for many years and this has been my favorite apartment. I would move back there in a second and only moved because we needed a two bedroom.
It is Point Loma so you do hear the airplanes but I got used to them and it was never a problem. That’s just something you have to accept if you’re going to live in Point Loma. The street parking can also be difficult, especially on the weekends or at night. I knew both of these things coming in so I wasn’t surprised. Overall, I was extremely happy with my experience living at Pacific Breeze.

This is one of the smaller complexes. It is in an area surrounded by many other apartments. I liked the area since it was close to everything Sports Arena, Pacific Beach, and MIssion Valley. However, I didn’t care for the apartments. The place is pretty old and dirty. The kitchen is waaay dated and doesn’t come with a microwave. Our faucets always made annoying squeeling sounds whenever we used them.
And its proximity to the airport was terrible. Every half an hour you would hear a plane pass by and won’t be able to hear a thing. I’ve missed many punch lines in TV shows due to this –_​–
We lived right next to the entrance and when people used the intercom to get in it was unnecessarily loud. The guy below us must be deaf or something because he would listen to pornos on his computer so loud that we could hear it through our floor! (trust me it was porno the groaning and moaning) very disturbing.
These are unique because they come with garages which are nice except for the fact that there was a black widow in ours! Parking on the street is a nightmare if you get home later than 7. We spotted a skunk twice on the grounds and ran for cover. It is gated and pretty safe except one time some loser skater teeny boppers decided to come in and skate around.
They offer basically no ammenities, they told us there was community grills but we never found them. And through the spring the pool was closed because it didn’t comply with «Health Regulations»… scary. The pool is also surrounded by the apartments so it kinda feels like everybody is watching you.
Oh and don’t even bother trying to get a hold of their one employee that «works/​lives» there. She is never in the office and never answers her phone.

This complex has gone downhill. I have lived here for over 3 years and I can honestly say that the property management has drastically deteriorated over the past few years. The complex is turning into a frat house. There are too many immature, disrespectful and unruly kids living here and the property manager doesn’t care even though she lives within the small complex. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the way this place has been run. I will be moving very soon.
