Rachel gives the best facial I’ve ever had; she has 20+ years of experience and it shows. She’s also just a great person to be around and I leave feeling beautiful and absolutely love the results. I trust her completely with my face and highly recommend.

If you haven’t had a facial with Rachel… DO IT. She’s gentle, listens and is so easy to talk to. I’m so glad she moved to a better salon!

I was very pleased with my experience at Original Skin & Body Care. I went in for a manicure and pedicure, and it have to say that my nails look beautiful (which if you saw my nails, is no small feat, yes, I wanted to sat «feet» but I nearly resisted…).
I saw several reviews where people mentioned something like they felt like they made a new friend, and I can see why. I found Lisa to be very personable and friendly. And the place is just so welcoming, made me feel very comfortable.

I’ve been a client if Lianna Jones for seven years now. She is a master at coloring hair. I’ve been to different salons all over the country and nobody compares to Lianna. She is incredible at mastering a natural look. I can’t imagine ever needing to go to another stylist for anything.

The week of my high school reunion, Lisa did a firming facial mask and special treatment for me and I literally looked a decade younger, which is hard to do after age 40. I don’t know what her secret ingredient was but it did the trick and lasted throughout the weekend. I’ve been back for more services including some of my best haircuts/​color by Sharon Hart and also brow waxing which I usually don’t like to do since my skin is sensitive. When I told Lisa about my sensitivity to waxing she used a special wax on my brows that hardens faster and doesn’t hurt or pull as much on removal and it worked great. I also happen to love a smaller, more intimate salon setting so that’s a plus for me, too.

Recently got a custom facial with Lisa and had a great experience. After calling and explaining that the stress of a very rough week had caught up to me, she was kind enough to squeeze me in same-​day (yes, I did, in fact, treat her like a therapist within the first 30 seconds of our conversation).
Lisa is a pro. She uses top-​notch products, has expert technique, and gives one kickass shoulder massage as a surprise bonus! She is also super warm and friendly, which are always nice qualities for the person who will be staring intensely at your face for an hour. I’m definitely a new fan.

This is a little, almost hidden gem on Park, but it is great and Lisa was awesome! I wanted a pedicure before I went back to law school for the year, and it was pretty last minute. I was able to get in pretty quick, Lisa called me right back. I’m not a huge fan of those pedicure places where you’re lined up with a bunch of strangers and other people getting your feet tended to. This was a one-​on-​one pedicure, and Lisa was super friendly and very good. I wanted a new, fun color on my toes and she recommended the perfect blue! I was really happy with this experience.

This was my first facial, and I chose Original Skin & Body Care because of the deal and because of the proximity to my house (i can walk) and it was amazing! I did a brow wax and a facial, both of which were super. The environment was very quaint and relaxing, I felt very comfortable and was made to feel very comfortable by the extremely hospitable Lisa! When time and my pocketbook allows again, I will definitely return and dont want anyone else to give me a facial, my skin was glowing and I haven’t had a major break out since!

I have been basking in the services provided by Lisa Getz for over 20 years. My principle choice of services are her manicure and pedicures. She has such a wonderful way of making nails look natural if they are acrylic. Lisa now offers the new long lasting shellac polishes! I have thoroughly enjoyed her brow waxing and facials as well. She has multiple talents and is a joy to be with. The environment is a cute cottage style home with very chic décor. Lisa is easy to talk with, provides high quality salon service, and you will leave you feeling like a million bucks! There are also fabulous hairstylists at the salon to complete the entire salon package.

Brow waxing can be quite an undertaking for a man. We typically have thicker hair and more of it. That’s why I’m glad to have found Original Skin & Body Care. I highly recommend this business to my guy friends as well as my girl friends.
First off, the parking is very convenient from metered out front to free parking around the corner. Lisa (the owner) is an extremely careful, patient and accommodating esthetician. As well, the room is private so you’re not in a space full of other people gawking at you.
Many past experiences I’ve had going to other establishments has left me feeling awkward and a little out of place being the only man in the salon. I’ve never felt pressured or uncomfortable when getting my eyebrows waxed by Lisa. For that, I’m truly grateful. Thank you!

The facial was soothing and relaxing, but the brow waxing was a mistake. It ruined the experience for me. When I called the next day to let her know that the skin under my right eyebrow was scabbing, she just told me to put some Neosporin on. I was hoping for more empathy and a little apology.

This place is in a very relaxing environment and they use high end products. Staff is very nice and friendly. My only complaint is their pedicures… I literally had nail polish all over my feet. It was so bad I had to just laugh at it. If it wasn’t for the final look of the polish, the actual scrub and massage that goes along with the pedicure was great. But there was nothing about the polishing attempt that would make me be able to stomach going back.

Lisa did my pedicure once and it was a very nice experience. She gave good attention, was friendly, and was not pushy at all. The pedicure looked great. I would go back for sure.

I came here for a brow wax last week and Lisa did a great job. I’m an esthetician as well so I can be a bit picky when getting waxed (clean pot, no double dipping, gentle, what products are used before and after, etc.). But she did an amazing job on my caterpillar brows. And she uses dermalogica, also a great plus. The location is quiet, and very cute. Especially the bathroom! :)

I first went to Original Skin & Body Care for a facial because it was so close to my house but then started going for mani/​pedi because I was so frustrated with the local Hillcrest nail shops. Lisa provides excellent service and it feels like spending an hour with a friend… as opposed to the impersonal «assembly line» service you get at the some other nail shops.
I always have a very pleasant experience and always look forward to chatting and getting myself pampered. I highly recommend Original Skin & Body Care.

I have be seeing Lisa for about a year and not only does my skin look great, but I have made a new friend.
The salon is on Park in the cute neighborhood of University Heights. It is usually easy to find parking on the street. The atmosphere is peaceful yet cheery. And her partner is a great hair stylist, if you are in the market for a new do!

Since I’ve been going for treatments and mani-​pedis at this great place, they’ve added a hair stylist, Sharon Hart. I love the energy now that Sharon is there, and she is an experienced, creative stylist — I know because she’s done my hair, and I am very fussy!
The salon and spa are in this beautiful little restored Craftsman that makes you feel good the moment you walk in. Lisa, the owner is amazing at both facials and mani-​pedis. When I’ve had facials at other salons I sometimes felt like they weren’t really doing what was best for MY skin. Lisa analyzes what I need and really customizes the facials. The biggest benefit is that I leave looking so much more rested and relaxed.
I have to recommend the manicure/​pedicure for two reasons: 1) my nails look awesome and 2) the polish LASTS for weeks. Really. This is so important because I don’t have a lot of time (or money) for my nails, but I feel so much better when they’re «done.» Lisa does the best mani/​pedis — my friends who go there agree.
One more thing — Original Skin is in University Heights but it’s close to the 163, Hillcrest, North Park, etc. so even if you think you’re not close, google it and check. It’s worth it.
