Once Upon a Dream

My husband and I recently got married at Centennial Park in Coronado, CA on October 19, 2014. Our reception location came with a coordinator but our ceremony location did not. With our ceremony taking place in a very public place we really needed someone that could control the people walking through and direct our vendors. Catherine did just that plus went above and beyond. One thing I really wanted for our ceremony was a chalkboard basically stating that as two families become one that the guests should choose a seat and not a side. I ran out of time to get this done, so just decided not to do it. As I am getting ready with the girls on the day of our wedding I get a text from Catherine with a photo of a chalkboard with exactly what I wanted written on it. It was perfect and it just made our big day even that more special. She had also made a couple other chalkboard signs asking the public not to walk through while the ceremony was taking place and another chalkboard directing our guests where to park. Also, I must point out that she did all of this 8 months pregnant. She had originally planned on being on maternity leave starting the weekend before our wedding, but decided that our ceremony would be the last one before her leave. We are extremely grateful that she decided to be a part of our big day and we can’t thank her enough for all of her hard work in making sure our ceremony ran smoothly. Hiring Catherine was by far the best decision we made. I could not have imagined a better person to work with or a more perfect wedding day. We first approached Catherine because we knew we wanted to get married at home, in San Diego, but we lived in Maryland, and trying to plan a wedding from the other side of the country was proving to be a very difficult task for us. Once we contacted Catherine she immediately set to work helping us get ideas for what we wanted, setting up a budget, and putting together a timeline for us, so we knew exactly what we needed to do. The entire process from setting a budget, to discussing venues, to talking with vendors, and coming up with a seating chart was so easy! I can honestly say that I was not stressed at any point during our wedding planning, not even the week before. And the day of the wedding was absolutely perfect, from the decorations, which Catherine put together, to the flawless movement of vendors throughout the day. Absolutely nothing went wrong, and we keep hearing rave reviews about the ceremony and the reception.
If you are looking for a planner who is easy to work with, is extremely organized and ready to help you in any way they can, I highly urge you to give Catherine a call and talk with her. I was worried we couldn’t pull off a wedding in San Diego on the budget we had, but Catherine worked tirelessly to make sure we had a wedding we were happy with, and I can say that our wedding day was by far the best day of my life. The entire experience of working with Catherine was incredible. She was always available through email and phone calls, and she kept us on track and organized. The whole experience was incredible. Like I said, hiring Catherine was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding.

I was recently an MOH for a dear friend who hired Catherine as her wedding planner, and after watching and helping along the way over the last year I have nothing but positive things to say. The bride and groom were planning their wedding from across the country, while moving (not to the location of the wedding) and the bride was starting graduate school. Catherine managed everything, did an excellent job working with all the vendors, found a way to incorporate both the bride and grooms personalities, and actually designed and made the most unique decorations you have ever seen. The bride and groom were relaxed and actually got to enjoy the wedding process from beginning to end and it was the most beautiful wedding.
Also, the bride and groom were on a budget, and Catherine managed to give them everything they wanted and more within a tight budget. I always thought that wedding planners were too costly, but she has proven to be just the opposite. I am so thankful that the bride and groom had Catherine to make their wedding planning a great experience. I wish she would have been in business back when I was getting married.

I must say that I was extremely fortunate to have Catherine plan my wedding! I really had no idea how much goes into planning a wedding, but Catherine knew every little detail and the entire event was executed flawlessly. Every person I talked to during and after the wedding said it was by far the best wedding they had ever been to!
One of the great things about working with Catherine is that she is very professional but easy to work with, and she will make all of your ideas come true in a particularly classy way. She is incredible with design, she even drew up our entire floor plan in Auto Cad computer program so that we could easily make changes and make sure all the vendors were coordinated properly! Catherine took every extra effort to make sure everything about our wedding was perfect.
Catherine also had hundreds of candle holders, table signs and mason jars that she provided for the tables. As usual, every last detail had been pre-​planned. I couldn’t be happier with the service that was provided, we seriously would not have been able to do it without her! I would recommend to everyone, use Catherine to plan your wedding. One of the best decisions I made in my wedding planning was to hire Catherine as a full service wedding planner! She made the entire year before my wedding so smooth and enjoyable. Not only does Catherine have an eye for design, but she is extremely hard working and a strong communicator. She went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined, and all of my guests were completely blown away by her work. I honestly can not count how many guests told me that my wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to, and our friends and family members were emailing my parents for weeks after my wedding to tell them that they couldn’t stop thinking about it…
Another strength of choosing Catherine for a planner, is how well she works with other vendors (even ones she has never worked with before). Catherine communicated throughout the year leading up to my wedding with all of my vendors, and made sure she had a professional relationship established with all of them to make sure my big day ran smoothly. All of my vendors loved working with her, and my wedding was not only on time, but the entire day I never felt rushed (which was very important to me). Even my photographer kept mentioning that she had never attended a wedding that was so well planned and with such a roomy schedule.
Catherine will also work within your budget and make sure you stick to it (which is very rare for wedding planners!). I interviewed several wedding planners that I felt like were trying to push me to choose certain vendors that they had relationships with, and some that even mentioned that their fees would increase if my budget did. Catherine’s goal is to make sure her clients are happy and that their weddings are truly in line with their dreams. My parents could not get over how hard Catherine worked during my wedding weekend, and it was apparent that the success of our special day was due to the passion that Catherine put into everything she did. Planning a wedding can be stressful if you are on your own, but I can assure you that Catherine takes on the burdens of wedding planning and makes sure that her clients are care free.
Lastly, my wedding required a lot of work to plan. I wanted to get married on a rustic ranch on the California Central Coast, while working full time in San Francisco. The venue I chose did not have a commercial kitchen, so we needed to essentially plan and coordinate all of the catering and rentals too. Catherine managed to plan my entire wedding remotely from San Diego, and maintained constant communication with me to make sure we were on track (although we were always ahead of schedule). She allowed me to make my dream wedding come true, and was constantly dotting the i’s and t’s that most people would normally miss. I cannot say enough good things about the professional work that Catherine does. She has a passion for planning and making dreams come true, and it truly shows through her incredible work and personality. She is a joy to work with!
