Quick and friendly! Didn’t even take a minute to make 3 copies of a key — and they all are guaranteed (though they all also work, so that was unnecessary).

Hole in the wall locksmith, but that is kind of like what a keyhole is, isn’t it? Also, how much space do you really need for this kind of business? I stopped in to try to make a copy of a key… found out I wasn’t allowed to, which was disappointing, but all the same, the guy working there was very informative and saved me from running all around town to try to get a copy made– the lady I spoke with at Lowe’s prior to coming here didn’t have a clue. Grateful for the information, I’d probably come back in again if I were ever in a jam. Location is easy to find, street parking is no problem.

Do not use this locksmith. He is unreliable. I made an appointment with him, planned my day around him, and then he called and cancelled the job he scheduled less than a day ahead.

I’m usually shy when it comes to posting online, but I was so pleased with the service that I had to give them wonderful reviews. Quick, friendly, inexpensive and my copied keys work perfectly! I will recommend others and definitely use their services again!

I was on my way to Ace Hardware to get a key copied and saw this place on the way.
In and out in minutes, the guy at the front was able to assist me with competent and friendly service.
He also told me about the difference between key quality used at other establishments (Ace, Home Depot, etc) and how it differed to the quality of keys they used.
Recommended for quick key copying!

Thanks to Unilocal, I found O’Brien’s Lock and Key. The service was fast and very friendly. Will go back again if the time arises.

Needed a bunch of keys made badly so I showed up at 10 am which is when Unilocal and multiple signs on the door say they opened. No one was there so I waited until 10:10 when it became clear Mr o’brien doesn’t want my business.

Quick friendly service! The gentleman behind the counter made my key so fast I couldn’t take my money out quickly enough to pay him :) When you can support a stand alone independent business, do so.

I never expected to have any problem with these people. I arranged an appointment at my house and they were supposed to show up within a certain 2-​hour time frame. Sounds simple, right? Well their guy showed up much later as I was about to leave my house. I told him the appointment was for earlier, and he got defensive. He told me the appointment was for a later 4-​hour time frame that I would never have agreed to because of my schedule. Instead of owning up to the mistake and apologizing or trying to arrange another appointment (which would have been easy) he just implied that I was lying about the appointment time, and then he questioned whether I had even called to make an appointment at all.
When he left he said, «You’re welcome for nothing!»
The bottom line is, they are either too disorganized or don’t care enough to honor their appointment times. Some businesses don’t understand customer service, and based on my brief interaction I assume this is one of them.

My first 1 star review :(not at all my style but I was REALLY disappointed today. I totally respect the integrity this guy has. He takes the ‘do not duplicate’ thing seriously; handing out keys to my business makes me hope that all locksmiths do. That being said, I was obviously in need of a copy. When he refused I even asked about rekeying the lock for goodness sake — so clearly, this was something I needed to get done. I explained my situation — all I got was a stone cold, not-​my-​problem face. Since he turned me away I went to another locksmith to see if he would help. Come to find out that the law that prohibits duplicating a key with ‘do not duplicate’ etched into it goes on to say that it can be duplicated as long as you have something on company letterhead giving such authorization in writing. I don’t understand why he didn’t want to help. Doesn’t it make sense that one would simply share that? He didn’t have to cross any ethical boundaries — a little information could have made this a five star review. Not cool!

I was in and out in less than a few minutes and it only cost me $ 2.50.
Parking can be hard to find, but we all need the exercise anyways.

Excellent service. This is the place if you own an old house with original hardware on your doors. I got a new cylinder lock in my front door that looks like it was always there, and replaced the spindle for the door knobs that used to just spin. It now all works like new. Wished I had done this years ago!!!

Took my new house keys here to get extra copies and I had a great experience. No wait, friendly customer service by a woman with cute birkenstocks, keys worked when I got home, and I liked the somewhat kitchy atmosphere. I’m glad I was able to support a local business!
Note: there is about a 50 cent debit/​credit card transaction fees for anything under $ 10 so bring cash.

This is the only place in the city that can make any rare key available. Thank you so much for being there.
