New Way Landscape & Tree Services

Not sure about the other reviews, but I am a portfolio manager for a commercial real estate firm with many San Diego properties. New Way has performed landscape maintenance and tree care at several of our properties, and consistently does an outstanding job. Particularly strong in the area of customer service and follow up. Would absolutely recommend to other property/​HOA managers.

What the hell??? I am sitting out in my car during my lunch break when one of their landscaper decided to put everything he was blowing right on my car. He saw me in the car, he looked right at me. I would have been more than happy to move but was given no time to before he had a heaping pile of pine cones, pine needles, leaves, and whatever the hell else is on the ground in the area. I have called and left a very upset message right after it happened. This is no way to do business. Why would anyone hire you when your workers have no respect for the property of others. This company and that worker should be ashamed of themselves if they think this is okay. I do EXPECT a return call. This is ridiculous!!!

Poor Randy Newhard. As their profile states, Randy had a dream of building a company. In 1980, New Way was spawned… and they’ve been disapointing customers ever since.
Like at least one Unilocaler has stated, New Way was hired by my HOA to care for the common areas. And similar to my HOA management company, they suck!
1) Common areas often get ignored and they look like it. Photos available upon request.
2) Requests for service often turn into complaints. They’ll state the job was done, but when you get home from work, it looks like nothing was touched.
3) They can’t do anything right the first time. After the intitial installation, an irrigation line was leaking. They had to dig up my front yard twice to fix it. Also, they had to dig up and reinstall a few hundred square feet of sod in a park, because they used the wrong filler the first time.
4) They were confronted by one of my neighbors while taking photos of her backyard. They claimed her backyard landscaping was affecting the front yard/​common area, and it was not their responsibility to fix it.
Hopefully they’ll be replaced as soon as the contract expires!

WORST COMPANY EVER! If I could give ZERO stars I would. SO awful! Unfortunately they are hired by the property management company where our office is located, otherwise I would FIRE them if I could!
The gardeners themselves are RUDE RUDE RUDE! They hack away at our shrubs, but leave the foot tall weeds that are growing out of cracks in the sidewalk and corners of the planters.
And as if it couldn’t get any worse, they broke one of our WINDOWS! I understand that accidents happen, and I was not mad that they broke the window… What made me mad was that they tried to blame one of our employees for it! We had three of our employees see it happen! But when we contacted the company, all they said was that their employees saw one of us «open a window» which caused it to crack. I might have let that slide if any of our windows actually opened. Anyone with common sense knows that almost all businesses do not have windows that open. And, take ONE look at our windows and you can see that they absolutely do not open in any way! But the manager couldn’t even be bothered to come out and take a look at our window or the crack itself. He obviously didn’t care to be bothered!
All we wanted was for them to take responsibility and replace our window. Instead, they offered to pay for half of the repair, which is BS if you ask me! Take responsibility for your actions! This is what insurance is for!
It’s a shame to see how this business is run. If I tried to blame a mistake on a customer, I would probably be fired! Absolutely unacceptable! I do not know how this company stays in business.
BEWARE of hiring this company. They do a HORRIBLE job and they are rude and DISHONEST!!!

They were great to start out with. Three weeks ago, they missed our weekly service. This week, they did not show up again. We still get the same monthly bill. Beware!

I have used New Way for years and am always delighted with the results. They are completely professional and thoroughly dependable. They also donate a portion of their profits to local charities, so I know when I patronize them it is also helping women and children get back on their feet.
As an update to this post, I had New Way trim my trees recently on a Friday, and noticed that they had left a portion of a hedge I wanted removed. I texted the job supervisor over the weekend, he replied immediately, and the crew was there on Monday morning at 8 to finish up the work. Well done.

I am very satisfied with the service. I dont know what the other person commenting is talking about. First how do u know they are Mexican? Let me take a wild quess is it because they are dark and can only speak their language? Hispanic is a much better word. Anyways Im very pleased with their work (these Mexican) lol! I thought racism was over! I would recommend this company! All their employees are very polite

If I could give them 0 stars I would have. This company hires nothing but mexicans who don’t speak any English and then sends them out to do a ½ way decent job of mowing lawns. They use leaf blowers when they’re done and blow all of the lawn clippings onto your porch and God forbid your front door is open because they’ll blow it right into your house. Maybe they should hire people who speak English so you don’t have to yell at someone who only knows how to say SORRY.
