My Green Home

If I could manipulate the system and give a review of more than five stars I would. I haven’t received my unit yet, but I can tell you this, the amount of knowledge that the My Green Home team possesses regarding these units is outstanding. I am scheduled to have my unit installed in July and will do a follow-​up review. This user highly recommends My Green Home.

Excellent product and excellent service. The install is a bit more expensive than a common attic fan but the product is far superior. Caleb was very knowledgable and easy to work with. Wish all contractor experiences could be this smooth and painless!

My Green Home folks were professional and courteous from start to finish. We are amazed at how much our house fan helps during hot spells. We heard from a neighbor about My Green Home and have now recommended them to our neighbors!

My experience with this company didn’t start so great as there was a problem when I called. I was placed on hold and disconnected and then straight hung up on when I called back. Surprised by this after reading the reviews, I decided to try the ‘contact us’ link on the website. I left a note about what happened on the phone and although disappointed, I was still interested in receiving a call back. Maggie called me soon after and was genuinely interested in what exactly happened and assured me she would look into it.
Fast forward to the estimate. Kaleb came out to look at the house and said we were a perfect candidate for a fan since we actually have our living area upstairs and there was a great spot to put it. He recommended additional venting for the attic which upped the price a little bit, but after doing some research, I agreed this was necessary.
The installation was top notch and looks like it was installed when the house was built.
I can’t believe how great it works! I can cool the house off twice as fast as air conditioning at a fraction of the price. My wife has told me multiple times to stop talking about how much I love it. If you’re not sure you need it or aren’t sure about the price, let me tell you it’s worth every penny and this is the company you want doing it. Family owned and operated and it shows.

I purchased my Whole Home Fan in July 2014. The first summer there was a dramatic reduction in my gas and electric bill. We found that we also use the fan in the winter — when you find it warmer outside than inside. This has been one of the best home improvement projects that I have participated in. Well, last week we found that the fan wouldn’t turn on. We placed a call and scheduled a repair call. Esau was the repair person assigned to the job. He showed up at the promised time. He was polite, knowledgable and showed concern that the fan wasn’t working. Within ten minutes he found and fixed the issue. Then comes the bill. ZERO! Zero as in no charge. The fan is still covered under warranty. I fully recommend the company and fully recommend the «Whole House Fan.»

We were referred to this company by a good friend and we love our whole house fan. They were a little more expensive than other companies we researched but their product and service is spectacular. They really took their time with the estimate and installation and I’m so glad we decided to go with them instead of the quiet cool. We live in an older house by the beach and primarily use the fan to clear out cooking odors and blow out the hot air from the sun at the end of the day. The high setting does this efficiently in about 5 minutes and the low setting is much quieter if you use that for airflow through windows. Unfortunately this wasn’t the solution for us as far as cooling, but it’s great for the spring and cooking. We then recently had air conditioning and ducting installed which required us to temporarily remove our house fan in the attic to make way for the AC installation. The owner promptly responded and set up dates for removal and re-​installation no problem for a small fee. They were easy to communicate with and on time for both appointments. Great customer service, I would highly recommend them.

Great product great people. We have had our whole house fan since May of 2014. The only problem we have had was a minor electric resistor issue; which was resolved by the My Green Home Team, just today. We cannot say enough about what a great job they did from sale to installation to follow-​up now almost 2 years later. Our two story home usually cools down by at least 15 degrees in about 20 minutes. It just works great, lots of fresh air, a constant cool breeze and quite quiet.

Had our new 10,000 CFM Whole House Fan installed yesterday by Brandon. Ran it on low all last night with the upstairs windows open and woke up to a nice 72°F upstairs this morning (awesome!). The first floor was 77°F which meant that our upstairs would have normally been 79°-80°F but our new fan allowed it to be a very nice and comfy 72°F, all without running the A/​C! Brandon did a fine job on the install, took his time to do it right, answer our questions and even managed to put our fan in a rather tricky location, but exactly where we wanted it. The fan itself looks well made and is fairly quiet considering how much air it is moving (I haven’t experienced other brands of whole house fans but understand they are all noisier). Also the fact that their proprietary switch is wireless and doesn’t need batteries is another huge plus! I would HIGHLY recommend MyGreenHomeDesign for your Whole House Fan needs.

We were very pleased with our whole house fan installation process and the product we received. The installer, Esau, was very friendly and professional. We have a young baby in the house and he notified me each time before starting the use of power tools so that it wouldn’t scare her. Our house has been so much cooler and we are saving on our electric bill by not needing to run our AC as many hours each day. We can get the temperature down to 70 overnight, so the AC (set to 78) doesn’t have to kick on until much later in the day. We are glad to have found this company and would recommend this product/​company to anyone!

We LOVE our new whole house fan. The entire process with this company was fantastic. I got an accurate quote on the phone and then inspection and installation was a breeze. Everyone was professional, prompt and knowledgable. The install guy was very clean and explained the best way to get maximum benefit. From start to finish it was a great experience… and to top it off, our house is waaaaay cooler now!

Our experience with My Green Home was top notch! We were first introduced to them at the OC Fair. The salesperson there was extremely friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. We had entertained a whole house fan for a few years but were hesitant to pull the trigger. Caleb came out to our home and told us we were a good candidate for one and gave a couple of recommendations as to where to place it. Brandon was our install technician and he was in and out within 3 hours and was very helpful. This company is great to work with and so far we have been extremely happy with the results of our fan. Also, the quote we were given at the fair was what we paid, no up-​sell pitch or bait and switch, they stand behind what they say. I would recommend them to any and all who are considering a whole house fan!

Spoke with them scheduled appt to have them come out and check my attic to make sure I had the appropriate space, Caleb came out crawled around in the attic, told me yep no problem. I made appt to get fan installed, guy shows up to install go through about an hour of set up and he comes and tells me there is not space in my attic due to water and gas lines. Needless, to say I wasted way to much time on this and I am shocked that these folks are that unaware of their surroundings. I am going with quiet cool, my neighbors have EXACT same house as me and they did not have any problems getting their quiet cool installed and they love it.

We have been going back and forth trying to decide whether to install a/​c in our 1950’s home, but in the end decided on a whole house fan after a contractor who was remodeling our bathroom highly recommended one. We are so glad we made the decision to install the fan from My Green Home – I just wish we had it installed when we first moved in 7 years ago! The quote that we were given over the phone was exactly what we paid and the fan was installed professionally within a few hours. We had it installed in April before the summer heat hit us – it has made such a difference! Sure, there are one or two days during the hottest heat waves that I wished we had a/​c, but for the good majority of the time we are finding the whole house fan cools our house well and our electric bill barely budges. It was a much more economical choice and I highly recommend this company and their fans.

I have to say dealing with this company was perfect. They were knowledgeable, friendly, showed up on time, returned phone calls. I got a whole house fan installed, and I have to say we are sleeping much better in a cooler house. I thought this fan would be extremely loud, they assured me it was quiet when comparing other brands of whole house fans, and I have to say it is much much quieter than I thought it would be. I don’t even hear it at night and I’m a light sleeper! I would highly recommend this company.

We researched whole house fans for awhile and Caleb from My Green Home blew us away. The price is not the cheapest, but when you compare fan specifications and quality, My Green Home has no competition. The customer service was great, timely and install was a breeze. We had Caleb quote us on a Wednesday and they installed the next morning at 8am. Esau performed the installation and he was phenomenal. He took extra precautions to maintain a safe and clean workspace. Overall VERY pleased with our new whole house fan. Thanks My Green Home!!! Bring on the summer heat!

This is the best! The house is cooler in minutes, wish we’d done it years ago.

I’m really happy with my experience with these guys. They don’t do «ballpark» figures or price haggling. You just tell them the size of your house and they tell you a price and it’s pretty fair considering the quality product and service you receive. I was about to install a fan myself, I’m really happy I didn’t after seeing how much care and expertise went into the install of my fan. I love the remote and timer. Everything is perfect.

We learned about My Green Home through my mother. She had one installed and couldn’t rave enough about how much it helped cool her house down more efficiently and cheaper than air conditioning. We saw My Green Home at the Del Mar Fair this past June and took advantage of their Fair Special.
Here are our thoughts about My Green Home and the whole house fan:
–My Green Home was on time, friendly and professional when they came to our home to see where we might install the fan and give us a quote.
–When it came time to install the fan, they were also on time, friendly and professional.
–They completely cleaned up after the installation.
–The fan brings in the cool evening ocean breeze, quickly cooling down the entire house.
–The fan removes unwanted hot air from the oven and stove. It also removes any smoky or burned smells, as needed.
–It clears out the shower steam (and any other unwanted odors) from the bathrooms nicely.
–The white noise of the fan is actually pleasant and helps us all sleep at night. We run it all night long during the warm days.
–The white noise of the fan also blocks the sounds if one of us has to get up earlier or stay up later than everyone else in the house.
–It cools the attic rapidly (we put a thermometer up in the attic to test how fast the temperature dropped), if you need to head up there for any reason on a warm day.
–You can direct which rooms in your house you want cooled based on which windows you choose to open. This helps us when we just want to cool off the west-​facing rooms in our house in the evenings.
–One feature we like is how cool it keeps our house into the afternoon if you run it strategically. We have found that if we use it to cool the house way down over night, then we shut our windows and the shutters on the east side of the house, it can stay 10 – 20 degrees cooler than the outside for many hours.
–We are enjoying having an SDG&E bill that is substantially cheaper due to not running the A/​C.
Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased with this purchase. The company is incredible and so is the product.

So I was at my sister’s house one day in the midst of that crazy hot spell we are having in San Diego this fall (oh wait… it’s still happening)
she was getting a quote from these guys about getting a whole house fan.
I came and hung out and asked questions because I don’t see myself affording AC… ever…so this seems like an affordable option.
Basically…this is what i got from the conversation about why to go with these guys (versus buying from home depot and getting it done /​doing it by ourselves)…
the fan’s these guys provide have double the blades which as a result makes the fan significantly quieter…
i have been in home’s that have the home depot fan… and while they cool the home… they are like an airplane taking off! granted you only have it on for a short time to pull the hot air out of your house…
so my sis got it done… and yes… it does work very nicely… and yes… it is significantly quieter… and if you have no intention of getting AC… this sounds like a fabulous option…
i’m still not sure… i’m that girl who wants all the bells and whistle’s…but at a deep discount…
so i’m going to start hunting for AC deals during the off season… and make my choice at a later time.
By the way… my sis lives on my street… so i am there daily and see the difference the fan makes =)

Great job! Loving my new whole house fan; it really cools down the house.
Caleb came out to the house initially and was very cool, not pushy at all, and gave us the breakdown of how the fan works, where it could be installed, what it would be like, and the cost.
The installer was good. He kept everything clean, no issues, no complaints.
We saw My Green Home ‘s demo at the fair and a week later we’re enjoying a cooler house. Appreciated the discount from the Del Mar fair, and the fact that the price quoted at the demo, at the consultation and at the install never changed. These guys are solid. Great experience.
