My Beautiful Dog-O-Mat

This groomer used to be respectable, but now the service is terrible. First let me say that I used to good there for several years and the prices for the grooming kept going up and up. The customer service was tolerable but not great. I switch to another groomer who had more reasonable rates. They did not do the same good job that Vaughn did. So we returned to Dog-​o-​mat. My appointment was for 10 am and pick up was 12 noon. By 2:30 no phone call as promised. Called and they said the dog would be ready in 30 min. Got there at 3 pm, not ready and the credit card machine was broken. They could not take a manual impression like most businesses. Returned at 3:30 paid cash and they didn’t even have change in the cash register. Had to go to the back to get the change and then only brought 2 of 5 dollars. And asking several times what tip I wanted to leave. A tip for being three and a half hours late. And on top of that it was a rushed job far under normal standards. Don’t go there and don’t give them a chance to screw you. A good business gone bad.

Dear Dog-​O-​Mat,
What happened? We used to have something good! You were convenient, friendly, caring and responsive. over the last couple of years, the staff has turned over more times than I can count, I can never seem to find Vaughn for nail trims and am leery at best at the staffer of the week wielding the dremel on my squirmy dog’s black nails, the place always feels dim, dirty and dank, and the service is indifferent at best. I kept giving you chances, and you kept disappointing. Sorry to say I’ve found another dogwash.

I have taken my dogs here more than a few times to give the place a chance to redeem itself. I understand that sometimes businesses have bad days. However, for My Beautiful Dog O Mat, my most recent visit will be my last. The water used to bathe the dogs is FREEZING cold! When you tell the staff about this, they act annoyed and act like they are going to fix it, but the water remains cold. The tubs are dirty and the towels they gave me to use today had BURRS on them!
I feel sorry for the dogs that people drop off to be groomed. People think they are giving their dogs a wonderful salon type experience, but that is not the case. I have seen them leave dogs on tables wet with the noose clip on their neck to go talk on the phone for over half an hour. The dog is wet and cold and it is so dangerous to leave a dog on a table like that.
The staff is rude, particularly the owner Vaughn, and difficult to find. They give you attitude if you don’t have the exact money to pay and have to go hunt down $ 10 change, which takes another 10 minutes.
If they have a sign in the window saying they’ll be back in 10 minutes, don’t believe it. You’ll be lucky if they come back in an hour.
If I could give this place a zero star rating, I would. Since that is not an option, they get one star. If you care about your dog, don’t go here.

«Be back in ½ hour» was posted up on the door without a return time. So I walked over to Tutti to kill 30 minutes.
45 minutes later, I walked back over to check if any employees returned. NOPE! After a full hour of waiting, I left, along with 4 other pet owners who were equally disappointed.
I would subtract the one star if possible! I wasted gas and meter money!

Went for the self service dog wash. I stood at the front for awhile waiting for service as 3 employees chit chatted in plain view of me. They would glance over but didn’t say anything and finished their conversation before coming over. Service: BAD!
Medieval and unsafe tub! Just an elevated tin tub with a big rock (yes, a rock!) to use as a stair for larger dogs. My dog is 75# and he had a hell of a time getting in. When it was time to get out, a large wet dog jumping onto a rock is not a good thing. He slipped and luckily I caught him but i was afraid he’d break his leg! Additionally, I had to flag down an employee (which was hard, see above comment) for a brush and a towel as one wasn’t provided. Tub & Equipment: BAD!
To pay, I had to wait again!!! I was so pissed at this point I was tempted to just walk out, but I didn’t. I was the only customer in there and yet I was ignored and didn’t have all the tools I needed.
In closing, this place is HORRIBLE!!! I’m astonished that they’re still open — who’s keeping them in business!!!

I go here to get my pug’s nails trimmed. This is the only place that I know of that has a Dremel, which is a lot faster by sanding my dog’s nails.
Vaughn, the owner, is experienced with pugs and is gentle with my dog when doing her nails (it costs $ 10).
I also bought my dog’s bed here. They carry a higher-​end brand called Bowser’s. You can even choose the fabric for the bed and it’s custom-​made for you.
If you need your dog’s nails trimmed, don’t go on a Sunday. There usually isn’t anyone available to do it.

pros… if you want to wash your dog in a tub, with warm water and soap that comes from a hose, this is the place to come. it sure saves me the trouble and hassle of washing my pooch. she also likes the trip in the car to get here. and everybody loves her here. i also love it cause it saves me from some back pain and strain. and you even get cool aprons to wear as you wash your doggy.
cons…customer service is ok, if not a bit understaffed. but they are friendly and love my doggy. parking sucks. and sometimes you will have to wait a long time before you get a tub station.

i used to go here when i lived closer. i can’t drive out of my way for it, as appointments need to be booked a wee bit in advance and are really only available on weekdays.
the place is a bit understaffed — which i can understand because of their prime location — but either way their staff is extremely knowledgeable about overall care. i learned A LOT about raw foods, natural balance, healthy snacks, and getting your dog used to the groomer.
since the owner was a fellow poodle-​owner, it worked out perfectly. he really knew how to trim kobe bear!
i once stopped by for some snacks for the pup and they had been lovingly caring for a maltese that had been left there for days, the owner completely out of reach. i seriously doubt other groomers would do the same.

i wasn’t that impressed with this place. it wasn’t very clean… fur everywhere — on the floor, in the tub, on the combs. the soap and water was pressurized which was the only good thing but the tie-​up system to keep the dogs in the tub was really bad. shorty was able to try to jump out and almost strangled himself. it was about $ 10 a wash… not really worth it.
