Miramar 76 Service Center

I’ve been going here for years and have always been treated right and don’t ever feel like I’m getting ripped off. Once I came in with an issue and after inspection, they said they talked with the car dealership and let me know that that the issue would be covered under warrenty if I took it there instead. They didn’t even charge me for the inspection. On occasion I have stopped in with low fluid indicators and they topped me off at no charge. They have earned my loyalty over the years and as much as I dislike having car issues, knowing I’m getting quality work done and not being nickle and dimed is great.

These guys are the best! I know nothing about cars so could easily be sold on work I don’t need. Dan and his team are honest, kind, and great at what they do. I’ll definitely be using them for all of my car needs:-)

Shawn and the gang are awesome. I was going crazy trying to get my Jeep to pass smog. One day in the capable hands of Miramar 76 and the problem was solved. They are super knowledgeable especially when it comes to smog issues.

I wouldn’t go to them for transmissions. Got my transmission done in 2010. Yes it has been 5 years but I only put 35,000 miles on it. At that point the transmission started slipping. At first I thought it was going to be great because they said they would look at it, etc. Well a $ 300 transmission oil change later and my check engine light came on again. Took it back to the shop said it came on because the other code caused it which some extra oil should fix. Well not even 10 miles down the road and the light came on again. They seemed like they would have looked at it again but when is enough, enough? Counting the first installation of the transmission I’ve spent $ 4,000 and then I have my time to consider, I have a job and can’t keep dropping it off and figuring out a ride or sitting there for a few hours. Real nice people but if you have a transmission problem– go to a transmission person.

All I can say is «Wow!» I have never had such a painless awesome smog check experience. Today is my last day of DMV renewal and I totally forgot I need to get my smog check done. After my «oh crap» moment, I called them schedule an appointment at 12pm and they are able to take me in at 1pm. They said they will have my car done in about 20 minutes. I didn’t really believe them and didn’t want to risk not making to my conference call at 2pm. So I brought in my work laptop and ready to do my conference call at the place, since I always have to wait for hours to get my smog check done in other places. Guess what! They finished everything by 1:22pm, I have enough time to drive back to work and do my conference in person with time to spare for a coffee break.

My daughter uses this shop for her maintenance and repairs and what peace of mind that gives me as a Mom who moved all the way across the country! Their honest, fast and high quality service is a rare find these days. They helped us out by allowing me to pay her repairs with my credit card. And they always let us know what’s an essential fix versus what can wait for a more opportune time. They do not try to oversell or defraud you, but they do let you know when other items need attention, and let you decide what fits your budget and timing. Do not hesitate to go here — the excellent reviews are well deserved!!!

We broke down on the freeway and had to be towed here. They knew we had an important commitment in la Jolla and they were so helpful. They fixed our Van in no time and were very honest with the charges. I cannot say enough about the good service we received. Thank you Dan, Shawn and scott, you guys were the best

My fiancé has been coming here for years and swears by their great customer service! I am really pleased with my visit for a smog check. They didn’t try to sell me other things and make me do extra things to my car. It was a very pleasant and easy and honest experience!
With a coupon you can get from their website, the smog check is only $ 49! What a deal! My smog check took less than 30 minutes but I came on a pretty slow morning.
The waiting area is clean and has a nice couch.
I highly recommend you check out this place !

In and out in 20 minutes without an appointment to get smogged. This included the time to calibrate the machine since I got there 5 minutes to 7am. Excellent customer service!

This auto repair shop has provided excellent service for our cars since 1972. They are honest, dependable and courteous — an unbeatable combination.

I was a customer for a couple of years, so this review is painful to write. Of late, I’ve had a number of issues with the shop, and I’m moving on.
Here are the issues:
— After my most recent oil change, my car started leaking oil. I called the shop, brought the car back in, and they said I had a bad oil filter o-​ring. I asked if it was a result of the oil change, they said no. They then charged me $ 100 to change the o-​ring. Looking online, I see I can buy the o-​ring for about $ 6. It’s hard to believe they can change my oil filter and oil for less than $ 50, the o-​ring for the filter change costs $ 100? Wow.
— One oil change before the above, I asked them to change my spark plugs. After getting the car back, The car ran poorly, and had zero pick up. when I took the car back several days later, they fixed the problem. The mechanic had forgotten to re-​attach an important connector, so the car was not running on all cylinders…
–And now, halfway between oil changes, I have a coolant leak. Checking under the hood, it appears there is a problem from my coolant tank to the radiator. lots of loose parts, a few missing screws/​washers. What the heck is going on?
Too many mistakes of late, and I can’t believe these are all coincidence.

I made an appointment via their online schedule and got an email confirmation of my appointment. Got in at 7:30am and left at about 8:45am for a smog check test, oil change, tire rotation, and 40 point vehicle inspection. They even gave my car a complimentary wash!
Shawn (guy working front desk) let me use their online coupon even though it had expired. Total cost of everything was about $ 96. They’re fast, honest, nice, and affordable. I recommend going here.

Speedy service, honest advice and no dramas!
Have been here a few times now and each time they have provided a great hassle free service. They are on point with recommendations and advice on keeping your vehicle in its best possible shape and ensuring the longest life of your car but at the same time there is no pressure, they explain the time sensitivity of needed work very clearly. Couldn’t ask for a better bunch of people to deal with for car servicing.

Just finished up with a routine service, writing this review from the parking lot.
$ 50 for oil change/​filter and a tire rotation. Made an appointment for 7:30am, and was in and out in 45 minutes. Sean at the front desk was friendly and the service was prompt… I didn’t feel pressured to buy any add-​ons that I didn’t need, which is what I expect every time I go to a service center these days. Best of all, when everything was done I went out and discovered they’d also washed my car for free.
The main thing I would suggest is to make an appointment; quite a few people came in and out, despite how early it was, and there appeared to be a number of cars that were left by their owners for service later in the day.
I used the online appointment scheduler on their website and it worked fine. I set the date and time I wanted, and the response was an email that simply said ‘your appointment request is approved.‘
This is definitely my favorite place for car care in San Diego so far.

I have to say I’m so impressed. I was worried I would have to go to the dealership for my problem with my lexus basically the power kept shutting off in my car but the gentleman took a look and tightened my battery and and haven’t had a problem since truely greatful.

I think this is the right place, either that or its next to it. I go here for their car wash and vaccum. Car wash has 3 tiers. $ 6, $ 8, or $ 10.
I don’t know there specifics but I usually get the $ 6 if it’s a routine wash or $ 10 if I want it looking really nice with a tire wax. My car looks really good right now.
The people are really nice and the prices are super reasonable. Tip the guys cleaning your car and wiping everything down. Best car wash place I’ve been to and the free vaccum works really well.

I needed my car worked on in order to pass the smog check. They did fix it so it would pass. I also had them do a few other things. I had them replace the clips that held up the car’s hood. When I got home, my windshield wiper fluid would not spray my windows. I had a friend look at the problem. The people at Union 76 had not reattached the hoses to the windshield wiper fluid when they finished putting the clips back on.
Although my car is an older model Honda, it was running great before I took it to this Union 76. On the way home, my car was sputtering and bucking all along the way. It had never done that before. My car kept slowing down, even when I would give it gas. It would buck and shoot forward when I would keep stepping on the gas pedal.
I have not taken my car back to these people because even though they fixed it to pass the smog test, they did not reattach the windshield wiper hoses and my car has driven terrible every since I went there.
I do not drive much and now drive even less because every since they worked on my car, it has been a nightmare to drive. I am going to have to wait until I am able to save the money to have another mechanic diagnose the problem and repair my car. If it had not been so hard to drive home from the Union 76 center, I would have not been so quick to connect their work to my car’s problems; but, it was very obvious.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. I gave them 2 stars because they did fix my car to pass the smog test; but, they also made it dangerous for me to drive.

I needed to get a smog check from a star station and I originally went next door, but there machine was down so I was recommended here.
Let’s just say I’m very grateful the other shops machine was down, all the staff here were extremely friendly. I was in and out in under an hour, the price was reasonable and to top it off they fixed an issue I was having with my trunk for no charge at all.
If I could give 6 stars, I would!

So I got the dreaded DMV notice for my required registration and smog check… Not only do they want a smog check… but it has to be from a star certified smog location… How annoying!
Luckily for me, I found this place on Unilocal!Great reviews, star certified, and less than five minutes from work! They even had an internet coupon for $ 10 off smog checks.
So how did my experience compare with everyone elses?
I’m glad you asked. It was great… The service was fast and they were super nice. I dropped off my car, grabbed a quick lunch, and by the time I was back it was already finished. This will definitely be the place I take my car for future smog checks!

Friendly technicians and completed my smog test in under 30 minutes. While nobody likes to have to spend money, the facts of life are if you live in California, you must have a smog test when registering your vehicle from out of state and every 2 years thereafter. I wasn’t worried about it since I purchased my vehicle in California 4 years ago and knew it had the adequate equipment needed in California with regard to emissions, etc.
Less than 2 miles from my home made the experience even more tolerable. I only wish they were open on the weekend so I wouldn’t have had to leave work early, but that is the way it goes :-)
