Miller’s Carpet Cleaning

I help run my moms properties so every so often we need carpet services to clean the units when the old tenants move out. I was looking in the penny saver amd noticed a deal for 2 rooms for $ 14.95. The units are 2 rooms so it was perfect, I phoned to make an appointment for the following day. The gentleman that made my appointment informed me of the $ 14.95 for 2 rooms, a $ 10 gas charge and that what I was asking was for a basic clean and if I wanted more of a deep clean it would cost more but that will be assessed upon a rival. Every time I’ve used this company I’ve always been able to get a next day appointment and the older gentleman they send is awesome. This last time I called I asked for a same day service and they accommodation me. They are precise, take their time and the price I usually pay is $ 69, because I get the deep cleaning and shampooing. I did not read the reviews for this company until after I’ve used them several times and it’s crazy how my experience is so different. I will keep using this company until they do something am not okay with. I’ve noticed everyone is getting upset about the gas fee, who knows other companies could be including the gas fee in their prices.

Worse service ever. I should’ve definitely looked at the reviews before calling them. They raise the price as soon as they walk through the door. And they left the floor super wet! Won’t be using them again.

These guys were no good. There add said 14.95 they showed up and quoted me 79.95. I asked why they said there was a 10.00 travel charge. I have to pay you to get to the job site? The guy was so rude I had to tell him no. Please don’t be duped by there add in the penny saver. They waisted my time and there own!

My experience was so-​so. They were late due to some sort of equipment issue. I received a call while in Chicago for Thanksgiving and called my friend who was waiting at my house with cash in hand because they only do cash or credit card. I did a $ 95 five room and hallway deal and just in case I left her $ 120. My receipt had the $ 94.95 plus $ 20 for pre-​cleaning at the kitchen area for a total of $ 120 (exactly what I left), but if you do the math it only totals $ 114.95. Maybe the other $ 5 was the travel fee. Too funny. I also received a call when they arrived, trying to sell my other services and I had to tell them that I had put my friend in charge and left her all that I wanted to pay. I did notice that they barely went in to three of the rooms which are not used much so I guess they decided to only do the traffic areas of those rooms. The carpets they did clean look great, so far. I do have to say that, but the tile floors in the kitchen and in my entry were left with puddles and tracks all over. Doubtful that I will use them again. Too bad too, it is nice to find services that you can rely on to do good work.

I would caution anyone against using this company. I called this morning and was given an appointment time of 2pm-​5pm. No problem, I was glad to get same day service. Later, I got a call from the tech stating that he wouldn’t be able to make it until 6pm. I said, «no problem, I might not be home, but someone will. See you at 6, the sooner the better.»
Well, 6:30 comes around, no carpet cleaner. I call and the guy on the other end rudely tells me that he called me and I said I didn’t want him to come out anymore. I’m certain that I didn’t say that and he was trying to argue with me. He said,“well, I’m already home, and I can’t come out. And, you said no, I don’t want the services anymore.“
At no point did he apologize for the miscommunication on his end, I wasn’t offered a rescheduled appointment, nothing… just rudeness.
I have had great experience with Bello Express and will stick with them, even if I can’t get a same day appointment!

I waited awhile to post my review because it is a mixed bag here. Contacted them to clean two couches, guy came and looked at couches, which had a striped and very expensive fabric, another carpet cleaning company told me they would not attempt this job as the fabric might run. This guy starts right in and the fabric is drenched. I ask him how long it would take to dry, he says 4 to 6 hours. SIX days later the couches are still damp and look awful. The welps have all shrunk and are uneven, there are marks all over where he used his machine and you can see the swipes he made. It looked awful. They sent another man to look at couches and he basically just stands there with a sad look on his face and says nothing. They were ruined. Matt, who I think is the owner, says they will make it right. I order all new fabric which is very expensive, and Miller pays, they also pay my upholsterer to do the job. So, they did a horrible job but did make it right. The guy who came and did the work, Kenny, was not at all professional and the reason I waited to give them any type of review is that while he was here I had to leave for 15 minutes to pick up a friend who was stranded on the road with a broken down car. When I returned, he was still here but a beautiful, gold bracelet I had left on the counter is missing. While I cannot accuse him of taking this, I know it was there and have turned the house upside down looking for it and it is just gone. Expensive bracelet, I was at fault for trusting this guy. They did, however, pay to have my couches redone and paid all expenses, for that I am grateful but will not ever use them again. Although I have all new fabric and my couches look great, I had to wait for them to be reupholstered, wait for the fabric, and cancel a very important dinner party I had scheduled because I had wet and nasty couches. They did, however, make it right but it was a huge headache.

DO NOT USE THEM! COMPLETE SCAM! I wish I would have done my research before I called and made an appt. I found a coupon in the Buy1get1 add for two rooms of carpet cleaning for $ 16.95. I booked an appt. Mentioned the add and they said great and booked a window of time for me to stay at home and wait for them. The guy called when he was headed to my house and said there was an additional $ 10 charge for driving from Santee to Grossmont college. ITS 10 MINUTES PEOPLE! REALLY WHAT COMPANY DOES THIS! I thought this was ridiculous but even for $ 26. I still wanted my carpets cleaned. Should have seen the red flag! The guys shows up and looks at my two rooms that i removed all the small furniture pieces from. The carpet was new 2 years ago and really wasn’t that bad. We don’t have pets, we don’t eat in the bedrooms, it was normal traffic path and we usually have our shoes off by the time we get to the bedrooms. There were a few main path marks that would be worth removing for $ 16! He took a look and said that every carpet needed deep conditioning for the spots to come out with was $ 35 additional dollars plus he said there was a another treatment that NEEDED to be done and it would be a total of $ 79.00. I told him that all i wanted to pay was the 16.95 for both rooms. That was not an option. He said it would be like washing it with water! It is false advertisement to get people in and then trap them. I told him that I was not going to pay $ 79. He then tried to state his case and say that this is the cheapest in town and what not. By this time I was so frustrating and felt taken advantage of that I said that I no longer needed his services. He said there was still the $ 10.00 charge for gas. I said, «you only gave me an estimate!» and he said that there was still a charge. I fought a little more and just gave him the $ 10. I wanted him out of my house and will tell all of my friends NOT to use Millers carpet cleaning. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!

This is the first review I have ever written inspired by what occurred on Monday. The week prior, I scheduled an appointment. I found them in the pennysaver with what sounded like a great deal. 2 rooms + hallway 14.95 — I mentioned that I also had a living rm and he bumped the price to 34.95 which was ok with me. He seemed like a pretty nice guy on the phone. I told him I was moving out and needed carpets professionally cleaned and that Monday was my last day.
He proceeded to get all my contact information and I was good to go for Monday at 10a.
I get a call from the designated carpet cleaner at about a 9:45 saying he’ll be there in 30 to 40 minutes. He then continues to tell me there is an additional travel fee to get to my residence. This was never brought up when scheduling my appt. the week prior. He said it was because I lived in No. County.
So not only are they late, they are already upping the price quote. He told me I’d have to call his boss. Since I was moving, I had misplaced that information. I called back the guy who was scheduled to clean my carpet and he did not answer or call me back.
Luckily, I had a back up plan and had someone else do it since I had to have it done that day.
BOTTOM LINE — DO NOT LIKE COMPANIES THAT JACK UP THE PRICES ONCE YOU’VE ALREADY HAVE AN AGREEMENT. AVOID THESE GUYS IF YOU CAN!
If I could, I would not even give them 1 star.

I really wish I read reviews before I booked an appt. I found it on the penny saver and called, the man on the phone was a dipsh*t in the beginning.
My appt was at 8am, the tech shows up at 845, and proceeds to upgrade me talking about deep cleaning. Um, I get my carpet cleaned every single 7 months, I don’t need «deep cleaning» I just need to keep my carpet cleaned for my toddler son. We don’t have stains, and he’s talking about «high traffic area» run down… Sir, we just got new carpet 9 months ago…
The carpet looked better before he cleaned it than after.
It’s sticky as hell, he didn’t do a thorough job. I could’ve rented one and did a better job myself.
They are a scam. Traveling fee? Your job is to travel people’s houses!!! That’s like you going to a hair dresser and bring box color! RIDICULOUS. No ethic company.

My advice to anyone out there looking to get their carpets cleaned… make sure they have truck-​mounted equipment and make sure NOT to use Miller’s Carpet Care in San Diego. Their website is

I just had an experience with Miller’s Carpet Care that was on par with all the negative reviews on here. At this point, I blame myself for not checking the reviews ahead of time. I found this coupon in the Pennysaver for $ 34.95 for the whole place (ended up costing $ 44.95 because of a $ 10 «gas fee» that nobody ever mentioned on the phone). I called them up, told them the layout of the condo (2 bedrooms, with living/​dining area, and hallways… the traffic areas). The guy on the phone was really nice and we got everything scheduled up.
The day of the cleaning:
Supposed to be there between 8am-​11am. They showed up at 11:30. I wasn’t home but my wife was. I get a phone call shortly after they arrived. The guy’s trying to up-​sell me on pre-​conditioning and deep cleaning and throws out a $ 250 out the door fee. I’m like woah buddy, I’ve cleaned the carpet myself with a rug doctor and had no problem getting ALL the dirt out from the high traffic areas (carpet is a tan-​brown color and dirt from the black-​top parking lot shows up wherever water or liquid has been spilled/​tracked in). I politely said, «sorry, don’t need the extra bells and whistles.» He then immediately drops the price down to $ 125 out the door. Again, I declined (this time with more frustration in my voice) the extra services because I know that with professional cleaning equipment all the dirt comes out easily as long as soap/​shampoo are used with hot water. The last carpet cleaning company that came out managed to get all the stains out without me getting extra «deep cleaning» services. Plus, now I get the feeling that he’s trying out the old «bait ‘n switch.» Why would he charge $ 250 originally and then without hesitation drop the price by 50%? Seems a little shady.
This is where my mind starts to get blown by the lack of customer service…
The guy on the other end of the phone says, «the dirt stains everywhere (including the traffic areas) will not come out with just the basic service. The basic service is just to get a receipt to show landlords when moving out and all it does is just wet the carpet.»
Now, I’m totally frustrated & I don’t trust this guy one bit. All I want is for him to do what he came to do and get the heck out of my house. I called my wife after I got off the phone with the carpet guy and asked her to keep an eye on his work. She said there was no soap/​shampoo used, he tripped the circuit breakers with his equipment, and he spent about 10 min and left. When I got home, needless to say, the carpet looked exactly the same as it did before I left for work that morning. The guy from Miller’s Carpet Care in San Diego made no effort to do anything to get the dirt out of the carpet. As soon as I didn’t fall for his up-​sell, he was going to do everything he could do to prove that the normal wear-​and-​tear dirt tracks in traffic areas were not going to come out. Or, maybe his equipment just can’t cut it.
After reading all the other reviews, I guess I’m glad I didn’t fall for his bull**** and pay they extra money for pre-​conditioning and deep cleaning because the carpets would probably have still looked the same as they did with just paying for the basic service… just wetter.

The owner was really nice and refunded my money, minus the tip the guy gave himself on the invoice, little scammer.

My husband and I are on a budget and needed to get the livingroom carpet cleaned. We saw the ad for «$ 14.95 for 2 rooms» and called Miller’s. The tech wanted x amount to clean, x amount to pre-​spot and another x amount for who knows what. Then it added up to $ 135. That was just for 1 room. We told him to forget cleaning the bedroom, just do the livingroom. He watched me move furniture and didn’t bother to help or even offer to. When I asked if he could help move the couch, he made a lame excuse that he might ruin the carpet or hurt himself. Wow. Never again.

NEVER AGAIN! I too was a victim of the coupon $ 39.95 for 5 rooms. Wish I read the reviews first. First off, my appointment was scheduled between 9A-​1P, and requested that I be contacted prior to their arrival. It was 1:10 and no call yet, so I call Millers Carpet and they said the guy should be calling shortly. Well, the guy did call back, and right away said, I dont want to waste your time or my time so Im going to tell you that its a $ 10 dollar travel fee plus stairs are extra and large rooms are considered double rooms. He was a bit rude on the phone but now after reading the reviews, I can appreciate his honesty. Well, he arrived and to my surprise in a car. I asked where his truck was. And he said he didnt need it. I asked him what the difference between truck mounted cleaners and portable cleaners, and he said «the price» and laughed. He said the coupon deal isnt the truck mount. Again a bit rude, and condescending. He quoted me over $ 100 for 3 bedrooms, but offered to lower it to $ 100 and kept saying I was still getting a good deal. He wanted me to pay then and there before he started the job, and when I brought out my checkbook, he said they dont accept checks. He then said, oh well they shouldve told you. So I leave to get cash, and when I come back, the guy is PARKED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY GARAGE so I cannot even park in my own garage. When I met him again to give him the money, he started talking about politics. I could appreciate his thoughts but not at all professional. So the guy is done in less than an hour, leaves the tile floors wet with his dirty shoe marks (which I had the house professionally deep cleaned the day before). I asked him if he had a rag, and he said that he’ll wipe up the marks. Umm he only did half the marks. He started packing up, and his hose with a metal ring is lying on the floor a couple feet from the main door. So what does he do instead of picking it up? Kicks it across so the metal ring scrapes against the tiles.
NEVER EVER WILL I USE MILLERS CARPET CARE!

Called the 1 – 877 number found on the coupon for a deal stating it was 35.95 for up to 5 Rooms. With only 3 rooms to clean, the man on the phone quoted me at 62.50 for spot treatment and the trip charge. I agreed.
The man who showed up at our home (with his coffee in hand) took a look around and proceeded to quote us 133 dollars. More than double what I recieved on the phone. He didnt even have a good explanation for why.
My husband refused to pay the amount quoted for the second time and asked the man to leave.
The guy had the audacity to say we had to pay the trip charge fee of 5 dollars. For what? Being a scam and not performing any work at all?
Again, my husband asked politely to please leave. Thank goodness he did.
We looked outside the window and the guy had a machine in his car that we could have rented ourselves at the grocery store for 50 bucks.

Can I give less than 1-​star, 0-​stars perhaps?
Beware of the hidden fees!
They lure you in with their fancy $ 16.95 coupon, but let me tell you, your not paying anywhere close to that price. The price the technician estimated once he got to the property was 4 TIMES more than the quote over the phone. And the quote over the phone didn’t even mention any of the extra services the technician said were «required». I talked him down to $ 100 because I need it done, I got fleeced just like the rest of these 1-​star reviewers.
Don’t be a sucker like me, stay away from Miller’s Carpet Care.

You don’t deserve this kind of service. This company has not improved any in the last 10 years. I found their coupon in the Buy 1 Get 1 Free book and was wondering if they got any better. Nope! Still the same CLEAN YOUR POCKETS business. When they came out 10 years ago, they told me how poor my carpet was, they added on a few charges and raised the rates way up!
When i didn’t want to pay their inflated price, they tried to intimidate me by saying «You had us come all the way out here.». They were unbelievably rude. At that point I should have kicked them out. Instead I got them to match the price the last carpet company did it for. I don’t like dealing with deceptive people. Try a company with good reviews. You don’t deserve this kind of service.

Don’t use this company! I had a coupon for $ 16.95 for two rooms (50% off) + free hallway. I was told over the phone that will fees, spot treatment the final price would be $ 50-​$ 75. A gentleman named «Richard» came to my apartment. He sat down in the apartment with his calculator and clipboard and moments later said it would be $ 135.00 He told me that there was an $ 80 pre-​treatment fee and that my living room was 2 rooms because it was a living room and dining room. I told him about the quote on the phone and he said the lowest he could go is $ 100. I told him to leave. This was a waste of time.
Update: Mr. Miller made attempts to contact me and provide a carpet cleaning at the quoted price.

The contractor sent to my house seemed like he was in a big rush. He finished the job so fast, I wondered how my carpet could possibly be clean afterward.
The machine used on my carpet was a portable one, maybe one step better than the Rug Doctor you can rent at the grocery store.
He needed to use my «hot» water, but since I have an infant son, I keep my water below 120 degrees. This doesn’t produce steam, just a warm wet carpet.
The carpet stayed wet for days, and always felt sticky, like soap was still in the carpet. Stains that looked like they were gone reappeared a week later.

I wish I would have read these reviews before having this company come out. Sounds like the same thing they have a great ad saying one price, then when you get them on the phone its another price. Then when the guy came out it ended up being 4 xs as much. THEN he miscalculated by $ 30 hoping I wouldn’t notice I guess. Unfortunately I was still overcharged $ 10 and am waiting for the refund check. Last, the guy promised that the stains would not come back. They were there the next day. So I rescheduled them to come back out which to their credit, they did at no charge. Seems like the stains are staying away otherwise it would have been 1 star.
I guess bottom line, not a great company and I would go elsewhere. next time for sure.

I have been in real estate and managed property for 10 years. This little bastard tried to squeeze cash out of me for his gas. WTF?
They lure you in with a low advertised rate and then throw on whatever they think they can get out of you for pre-​treatment and deodorizer and whatever other magic potion they wanna try to sell.
The supposed carpet cleaner who was clearly more of a salesperson than anything cared more about how much cash I had on me than he did what I actually needed to have done. No reputable business should care whether I am paying cash or credit. BUYERS BEWARE!!!
