Samantha from MIHO was such a pleasure to work with! She was super responsive, so flexible, understanding, and always accommodating to us, in order to ensure that we really did get the wedding of our dreams with the food of our dreams, too! We really wanted family style serving, and she was able to offer us great suggestions and make our dream happen. She gave great suggestions for how each food item could be paired with others, and which ones she felt were great for our occasion.
ALL of our guests LOVED the food and raved about it afterwards. Everyone commented on how great the food was, especially how unique it was at a wedding!

From the start/​initial communication phase/​figuring out our «dream» to the actual day of the event the professional, effective, and efficient communication from the MIHO team exceeded my expectations. Planning a DIY backyard wedding takes a lot of time, planning, and vision and MIHO’s team (thank you, Samantha!) was an integral part of that from soup to nuts.
I hadn’t tried the food before the big day, but my fiancée had and I trusted him. Thankfully, he had not undersold it at all. We went with tray passed appetizers (mini lobster rolls and devils on horseback) and the taco menu and we were both more than pleased; and our guests were completely over the moon about everything.
The servers were amazing as well; they were so friendly and worked so hard to make sure everyone was fed and that all details were taken care of from start to finish.
I think that the service, food, and aesthetic that MIHO provides is one of the best deals in San Diego. I’m so thankful that we went with them for the big day.

MIHO Catering Co is the crème de la crème. Not only is their customer service unparalleled, their food is DELICIOUS. In the midst of wedding planning chaos, MIHO is a breath of fresh air.
We knew right away that we wanted Mexican food at our wedding — a taco bar to be exact! We also knew that we needed to make the right catering decision in order to execute our idea perfectly. MIHO could not have been a better choice. Several guests (including LA foodies) made a point to tell us it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. Even my grandma, perhaps the toughest to impress, had seconds!
As for dessert, the churros were such a hit that they made their way on to the dance floor! If dancing to 90s R&B while eating a box of churros is wrong, then our wedding did not want to be right.
Overall, I can not recommend Miho enough! From the very beginning all the way to the big day, they are professional, helpful, and a breeze to work with. Also, out of town brides, Miho happily travels! We live in Los Angeles and our wedding was in Palm Springs — this was no trouble at all during the planning process.

There is no other way to describe MIHO other than AMAZING.
We were lucky enough to choose a wedding venue that allowed us to choose our own caterer and couldn’t have made a better choice with MIHO’s food truck. From start to finish, it was perfection.
My husband and I do not typically eat meat, but MIHO’s ultimate burger was well worth the cheat. I can’t say enough about the quality of the food and service. Our guests gushed almost as much as we did.

There really are no words that will truly convey the gratitude I have for these guys. They really went above and beyond the entire process to make our day special and exactly what we had always hoped for. I have been a MiHo follower from the moment I first tried their Pork Belly Banh Mi. As soon as I got engaged, I instantly knew that I wanted them to cater my wedding. Once I nailed down the venue everything just fell into place. I immediately reached out and Samantha responded right away. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and quick to respond to every email. She helped my fiancé and I build the perfect menu to match our taste and budget.
Fast forward six months… The day could not have gone any better. They arrived on time, food was hot and ready for cocktail hour and dinner, everything tasted DELICIOUS! The service provided was bar none and they went the extra mile to seek out my husband and I to ensure we had the opportunity to enjoy the menu we selected during cocktail hour. All of their servers were efficient, friendly, well dressed and groomed. The buffet style worked out perfectly and there was a continuous circulation of HOT food that was fresh and ready to serve. The added bonus was that our venue, The Spanish Village Arts Center, allowed the MiHo truck to pull right up onto the patio. It was the perfect accompaniment to the awesome setup, menu, and overall ambiance of the night.
Guests are still raving about the menu and how amazing the food was. MiHo even went as far as preparing side menu items for guests with food sensitivities, allergies, and vegan lovers alike.

MIHO catered our wedding at the San Diego Botanic Garden last month and it was awesome! First of all, they were really easy to work with — Samantha did a great job of working with us throughout the planning process. She was always quick to respond to emails — even if my questions were silly. We were really excited after our tasting because the food was delish, but I wondered if it would still be as good when cooked in large quantity. IT WAS! We had nothing but great reviews from our guests. The guest favorite was the carne asada fries appetizer. Thank you MIHO for making our wedding a tasty one!

Just had Miho cater my wedding this past June at the San Diego Botanical Gardens. I can truly say they were magnificent and I would recommend them to any bride or person looking to get catering for an event. The food was so delicious my guests are still raving on about the porchetta in pesto and their seasonal veggies with curry. I could go on with their Mac n cheese and talk about every dish but I wouldn’t be able to stop because everything was perfection. We worked personally with the event manager Samantha and she was a pleasure to work with. Always accommodating with our needs and making sure the vision I had for my wedding came to life. We had their truck featured at the site and it just made the wedding feel even more special. It was a true fairytale evening and the Miho team went out and beyond to help every guest. I absolutely love this company and can’t wait to use them again for future events!

I have been organizing events with MIHO for the Tony Hawk Foundation for years and have also attended many events that they catered. Every single time the food, presentation and service is perfection. They have helped me out with guests that have special dietary requirements and always work with me to tailor the best menu possible. Flavors are delicious and it means so much to know that the staff will be professional and warm to my guests. We will continue to work with MIHO and are delighted to recommend them to any who ask.

We were referred to A Miho for our private dinner party and could not have been happier with the results! Samantha was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process and provided great ideas that fit our budget and constraints. Juan was extremely personable and professional the day of the event — the food was AMAZING, presentation was completely on-​point, and most of all the entire staff was knowledgable and pleasant to work with. I did not have to worry about any detail during the event, Juan was one step ahead of every need. My husband and I used MIHO Gastrotruck for our Santa Barbara wedding in July 2014. MIHO was wonderful, reasonably priced and easy to work with from day one up through the wedding day; I would highly recommend them to anyone!
Early in the process, we talked with Samantha and discussed our vision of hosting a taco truck at our wedding. Our wedding venue had a Spanish style feel to it and we wanted to continue that theme through our food choice as well. We planned a taste test in San Diego where Samantha met us during one of their busiest times of the year, Christmas. In between all of their tamale making and deliveries, she hosted us to a great Mexican lunch full of tacos, quesadillas, tostadas and churros. After we tried the food, we knew this was the vendor we wanted to use.
Samantha was easy going, gave helpful suggestions and most importantly, she was flexible with our schedules and locations that we met. At that time, Samantha was late in her pregnancy and she would commute up to Santa Barbara from San Diego to meet us and go through details. She definitely made sure that everything was perfect for our wedding day.
On the day of the wedding, MIHO provided a friendly, helpful and overall wonderful staff. One of the co-​owners, Juan, was on hand the day of the wedding serving food and managing the staff on hand. He was very attentive to the needs of our guests and helping where he was needed. Him and the rest of the MIHO staff was aware that the day is a whirlwind for the bride and groom and after the ceremony and pictures, Juan was right there providing my husband and I with all of the appetizers and drinks that the guests were enjoying. It gave us a minute to sit and really enjoy our event before we went out to greet everyone.
One great suggestion Samantha gave us was to add a late night snack menu to our event. This was a great idea and was an instant hit! The once serving taco truck then handed out sliders, fries and churros to the guests. The wedding night was a great success and I received a number of compliments on how much our guests loved the quality and variety of food offered.
The wedding night went extremely smooth in large part to the service and delivery MIHO provided with our food. We look forward to using them again for future events such as anniversaries, birthdays and more. We highly recommend MIHO Gastrotruck for any event you are planning!

Miho just catered my wedding at The Moniker Warehouse this past weekend. All I can say is wow! From the quality of the food to the quality of the service, we could not be more pleased. Working with Miho throughout our wedding planning process was incredibly easy and they were more than willing to answer any questions or address any concerns along the way. We also used their bar tending services– Barçon– and were absolutely thrilled there as well.
I really cannot sing their praises enough. Our wedding guests LOVED our food which was our #1 priority. Plus, their staff was a joy to have around– fun, extremely helpful, and always professional. Miho really delivers!

MIHO catered a corporate event for 100 people for us and everything was fantastic… the food, the service. Very professional.

Miho catered our January wedding and they did a truly amazing job. From the very start of the process of finding a caterer, Miho was our immediate first choice. We worked with Samantha who is the catering manager. She responded to all my many questions very quickly and made the booking process extremely easy. She was able to accommodate all of our requests and worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed that day, including special dietary requests for our guests. She coordinated the set up and service and was one of our go-​to people that day. Everything ran so smoothly and I truly believe that Samantha was a big part of that. Not to mention the food was delicious! To make it a true San Diego experience we used their taco menu and had so many compliments from our guests. Thank you Miho !

Miho catered our «pre-​pre-​wedding» bash (Thursday night), which wound up being a 65-​person extravaganza instead of the small, intimate gathering I had envisioned! Juan and Samantha could not have been more accommodating, helpful, and efficient. Sam, in particular, was very quick to reply to all of my late-​night emails about «important» food-​truck related questions. I think the thing that impressed me most was that the food was so delicious that our guests ordered multiple entrees, and we almost ran out of food! We were not anticipating people wanting all four options, especially considering how large each option is! If any of our friends/​family/​guests are reading this: You guys are pigs! Oink! ;-)
The event was billed as a casual burgers & booze night, and the Miho Gastrotruck pulled into my parents’ driveway and served salmon burgers, burgers, fried chicken and biscuits, and fried green tomato on brioche, plus delicious sides. Yum. We also ordered unbelievable mini-​desserts, my favorite of which was the cinnamon-​and-​sugar covered donut balls that were outrageous. Thank you, Miho, for starting our wedding weekend out right!

I recently attended a wedding reception catered by MIHO and I can honestly say it was the best wedding meal I’ve ever been served. Wedding food can be all over the map, but I never expect anything that special since it’s hard to cook great food for the masses onsite. MIHO, however, knocked it out of the park. The spare rib was so tender, melt-​in-​your-​mouth tender. I’m still dreaming of it. I definitely over-​ate, which affected my dancing skills, but I’m not complaining. Great food, great service, and pretty cool people too. I give MIHO the highest recommendation!

They catered a wedding I went to…
The appetizers weren’t a great start. There was some fried vegetable thing that was greasy, soggy, and tasteless. The shrimp skewers were overcooked. The ceviche tasted like watery lime juice on frozen fish that was maybe defrosted 10 minutes before serving. The only half –decent appetizer was the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto. But, that’s basically a vegetable wrapped in a cold cut. So they get 1 star for something that didn’t really involve cooking. There were only 80 people at this wedding and yet the staff/​kitchen couldn’t crank out food slow enough.
For dinner, I had the grass-​fed burger. It had some mysterious sauce on it that tasted… Well, mysterious… and awful. The fries that came with it were soggy and cold. It was also served with some random rice pilaf that tasted like basmati rice, Prego, and canned peppers stewed together in crock pot for 2 days. If I wasn’t totally starving from the god-​awful appetizers served earlier, I wouldn’t have finished any of it.
The other dinner options were apparently just as bad. The «steak sando» was served on a ciabatta bread that was so stale and hard, it could have cut a diamond in half.
«Gastrotruck»? More like garbage truck.

MIHO catered my sister’s wedding reception and it was delicious! This may have been the best chicken I have ever tasted! They also had steak and some kind of vegetarian stuffed pepper or something, all unbelievable! I’m glad I just found them on Unilocal because I’m going to start stalking them in real life I think.

This is regarding the catering side of MIHO Gastrotruck. I hired them for my recent wedding. I had really high expectations for MIHO because of the awesome reviews and the amazing food. And the food WAS amazing in the end, I mean, churros? Come on! But I’m left with a bad taste in my mouth, not because of the food but because of the communication problems during the planning process.
Early on in the process, when we were still working out the menu and costs, there was a slight lag in email responsiveness. Juan (co-​owner) assured me that he reads every email that comes in but sometimes has to deal with more pressing issues before responding. Ok fine, no problem. But as time went on the delays got longer and longer. In December (4+ months before the wedding) we had selected the food and began to figure out the beverage options. I tried to get just a quote for the drinks but was told they were in negotiations with a new beverage vendor and would get back to me as soon as that was complete. A month later, nothing. Another month went by, still no quote, not even a ballpark number. Two weeks before the wedding I finally had a price on the beverages. Oh and by the way I needed to rent a bar as well, even though I had asked at least twice if that was needed without an answer.
In the end, everything worked out, but it was the MOST stressful part of the entire planning. In my opinion, a lot of confusion could have been prevented if MIHO provided options, prices, and everything that would be needed upfront rather than making me try to remember and ask all the questions.
I can say the food was delicious and the drinks were great. But proceed with caution if you do hire MIHO and don’t expect a fast response to your emails (which is the only way to contact them by the way).
