Great for event catering! We called the day prior for food for 20 people, and everything was ready on time. Picked it up and took it to La Jolla Shores(side note, highly recommended), and there was plenty of food, all delicious. The chicken shwarma, kabob chicken, hummus platter, and falafel were all especially tasty. The owner was super easy to work with as well. Would definitely go here again for a meal or event food to-go. If you’re the kind of person who is not familiar with this cuisine or takes a while to figure out what you want, glance at their menu in advance, because they don’t have pre-arranged numbers like some other places.

Felt like I was back in Israel! The food was authentic, fresh and delicious. The service was above par. Everyone was friendly and attentive to the customers needs. I hadn’t noticed the place since its tucked in a little shopping center but I’m glad I found it! Oh and about the pita bread… The best pita bread I’ve ever had. Try it for yourself! This place will not disappoint!

One of the most delicious chicken shawarma sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. They build it right in front of you. They also made the french fries fresh for me and gave a generous portion. Finally, service was super friendly! Insiders tip: Tired of hotel food at La Jolla Marriott? This place is walking distance from There!

I stopped here after a visit to Scripps Memorial Hospital. I was quite hungry and it was during lunch. There were a quite a bit of people. It appeared that everyone was ordering the chicken shawarma pita. I decide d to go with the flow and order the same thing. I had it with some humus, tomatoes, and cucumber. The food was very good and tasty. The chicken shawarma was tender and juicy. The saw that they also had gyros. Next time I will definitely get it. I definitely will come back for more. However, the only issue I have of this place is the parking. The lot is quite small for the amount of different establishment. It is a paid parking lot, but the restaurant does validate the parking. But just get a bit difficult to find parking during a lunch crowd. The food is still worth the parking hassle.

I honestly wish I lived in San Diego just so I could go eat here again! I found this place on Unilocal and was thrilled to find a build your own style Mediterranean place. I got the chicken shwarma plate with a side of fries and cilantro jalapeño hummus. The fries were so delicious. I wish more came with the plate though. My only gripe was the thickness of the pita bread. I thought it was too dense but my friends liked it. Their rice has great flavor and the hummus was delicious as well. The service was fine. The guy that helped me was nice. The person who cashed us out gave us some attitude when we accidentally exited the tips page of the iPad early. We just tipped cash instead. No big deal.

Was referred to this«hole in the wall» by a friend. He suggested I get the beef shawarma pita with everything. My son had that and my husband had a chicken shawarma rice bowl. I was going to have a beef shawarma salad to save the calories but when I saw they cooked the pita FRESH in the oven as you order, I changed my mind. Fresh baked pita, get ready to be eaten. I ended up having the ½ steak shawarma and ½ gyro in my pita. The place is set up «chipotle» style so you order the base and then tell them what to add for toppings. I highly recommend the sweet and sour cabbage in addition to the traditional items. The serving size is fairly large for the price. We will definitely be back for the tasty food at a very reasonable price(especially in La Jolla).

I finally decided to try this place out. It’s quite a lot of food. I got the rice bowl with steak. They give you options on what toppings you want. It was almost like chipotle but tasted better(a bit heavier). The plate gives you two sides. Their french fires were reaaaally crispy but felt a bit too oily. It’s a really clean place and the food was great. I would definitely recommend it.

Had EAT24 deliver so keep that in mind. The review is all about the food. The Greek fries were good. I’m sure would have been better if they hadn’t had to travel but there was very little sauce. Like a quick driz… well, yeah not even a full drizzle. Ordered two Gyros plates as well. The meat was okay, pretty salty. The chipotle hummus was fantastic. I’m not a huge fan of the real thick pita, but that’s a personal preference. It was tasty. The roasted veggies were anemic looking and not good. The rice was clumpy and half done with shriveled up peas and some other green thing I can’t identify. $ 33 before the delivery charge and it just wasn’t worth it. Too many good Greek places out there to do this one again. Suggestion to management: Don’t skimp on the little things. Good rice and veggies anchor the plate.

We ordered here today for the first time. We tried to order delivery but the PHONE does not work. We tried calling three times but no connection. When I went to Michelina’s to order I informed the hostess that her phone was not working and she said(quote) «No wonder I have not been receiving calls today». They also have a nice website that does not function. I tried to use it to order delivery but you can only enter a street address, not a condo number or apartment number. The food that we finally ordered INPERSON was excellent.

Hurray, the tall glass wall is gone now, replaced by a shorter glass wall! So it’s now possible for the staff to hear my order when I’m ordering at Micheline’s. I like the rice bowl with chicken, as I can’t have pita bread, since I’m gluten free. For under $ 10 the rice bowl comes with a nicely flavored rice, and your choice of protein and toppings. On my recent visit I had the rice bowl with chicken shawarma, the cilantro jalapeño hummus, which is tasty but not that spicy, fava beans, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and 3 sauces… the tahini, the tzatziki, and an Israeli Amba sauce. Scrumptious! This comes with house made pita, but as I mentioned I can’t eat pita. Although they offered gluten free pita for an extra dollar, I didn’t need it as I can’t finish the rice bowl. They also have plates, pita sandwiches, and salads. The chicken shawarma and beef shawarma is prepared in advance and kept warm. If you order the chicken kebab it takes longer. I’ve been very happy on most of my visits to Micheline’s. I recommend you give them a try. Suggestion for Micheline: Please have the staff ASK customers if they want the pita bread placed in their rice bowl. I’m gluten free and cannot eat the pita, but the staff automatically places pita in my rice bowl, and they keep forgetting that I can’t eat pita! Thank you.

Decided to meet a friend here for dinner. We came around 645p on a weeknight and there were patrons at each one of the tables — busy! The tables started to clear within 15 mins, so we figured that a lot of people quickly eat and leave. We were confused on how to order so it took us some time to fully understand what to do. There was a gentleman behind the counter who assisted us on how to select our dinners. There is a glass in front of the food items, which is awesome for sanitary reasons, but hello, if you’re short(like me) it’s challenging to communicate with the staff! I had to stand on my tippy toes! Also, the place is so small that it’s super loud inside. Wait until the blender comes on!!!(They also serve acai bowls and smoothies.) I opted for the gyro plate. Comes with gyro, rice, pita, and a chose of 2 sides. I chose 2 hot sides — fries and veggies. The plate took a while to come out — not sure if its because they had to fry up the fries or what but I had to wait about 10 mins for my entrée. A rush of people came in and some people had called in their order. Their items actually took longer. The entrée was plentiful and the meat was tender and flavorful. The plate was about $ 14 which I felt was a little steep for a semi-fast food establishment. Located in the same shopping center as Regents Pizzeria and you don’t need validation at night. I highly suggest you don’t come during lunch as the parking is horrible.

Just moved to utc area and was happy to find this place. The only bad thing about this place is that there are so many choices! Ended up going with the plate and gyro meat. I was craving fries and realized I ended up with three carbs: rice, pita, and fries. But they are all really good. The pita is soft and a lot thicker than other places. The rice has a good flavor with hints of small vegetables. The fries. Yum. They fried them when I ordered them so they were hot and crispy. Got the garlic aioli sauce. Tastes like garlic butter. Really good, but strong so make sure you have access to mints after. Hummus: also good. Was able to dip everything in it. Wish they had some complimentary red sauce or hot sauce. But other than that this will become a regular place to pick up food. Cons: parking is very limited

I didn’t have a particularly memorable or good experience here. Everything was a-ok. The food was pricey($ 10.99 for a salad + $ 2.50 for chicken) so my salad came out to be like $ 14 and it was not extraordinary! My friend got gyros and rice pilaf and thought the rice pilaf was unusual. I tried it and I didn’t like it. The place was really loud because of the smoothies that were being made. I felt like the process was disorganized because people were lining up and confused as to what to order and how to order. I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

This is my favorite place to eat around la jolla! I only ever get the hummus bar with chicken shawarma and garlic Aioli. It is amazing. The hummus bar comes with 3 different types of hummus and if you dine in, they make it into a really pretty heart shape on the plate. The chicken shawarma is juicy and flavorful and super fresh. And I love the garlic aioli. The best part, however, is the freshly baked pita! It’s puffy and warm and delicious. Best pita I’ve ever had by far! Once I ran out of pita but still had some hummus and was gonna buy another one but they gave me one for free. So nice of them!

I have dined at Micheline’s Pita House several times since they opened, and recently the food has gotten a lot more consistent and very tasty, They have some delightful falafels here, made with fresh ingredients and three very good hummus offerings; regular, spicy cilantro, and spicy red pepper. These are genuinely spicy, not taco-bell spicy, and I love them! The menu is pretty simple once you get the hang of it, although it can be confusing for first-time diners. There are many combinations that you can put together, so you have to start with your basic plate. Are you wanting a pita, a dipping bar/plate, or a full platter? Also, you will have to pick your protein, which includes the falafels, along with your toppings, which are basically the same as the sides. The least expensive option is the pita, for $ 7.99, with the biggest platter coming in around $ 12. So this place is a good value for the quality of the food they offer. They also offer classic smoothies, acaí bowls, and other treats The owners and staff are super friendly and all nice folks. A couple of suggestions for the owners: The big glass windows over the food make it difficult to hear. Both for us and for you. I know that you are aware of this, and sure hope you can fix that soon. I am tall, so its OK, but I imagine short people might have a difficult time ordering particularly if they want to modify anything from the base menu. Also, having the sign for the salads in a different location from the main dishes is confusing, although I do see that it is a space issue. If you can combine these two separate boards, that would be great. I am definitely a fan of Micheline’s Pita House and intend to come here again in the near future. Just a couple of minor fixes and this will be a five-star rating!

Yay I AM a fan! Greek fries are so damn good and addicting. For my first three visits I just got the chicken shwarma pita but last time we added the fries and I’m not sure if we’ll ever leave that place without them again! The freshly made beer battered fries with the melting feta on top and delicious herb-y sauce make the perfect combo. On our first visit we were introduced to every salad(samples on the house!) and the process was explained to us very well. I can see how the glass gets in the way of talking to the person taking your order, especially when its’s busy, but it’s never been a problem for us because we come pretty late at night. Their meat is really well seasoned and I like how they have so many options for what you can stuff your pita with. We get everything! Haha. I especially like the garlic sauce and add in some of the hot sauce to get the perfect flavor going. We’re definitely going to be regular customers!

This place is really good. If you go to UCSD, it crushes Santorini. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars though, is that its Menu is intimidating. They could take a lesson from In-N-Out’s 123. You have many options of how to order.(pita, rice bowl, over fries, combo plate, hummus plate… etc) And each option requires you to choose from one of many proteins(chicken, steak, beef, gyros, falafel… etc.) And then asks you to choose from a variety of toppings(lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage, hummus, +10 more I swear) And then you choose what sauce you want. There are like 6 or 7 and I only really knew what 2 of them are. To make it easy here are some suggestions from me! You can use it as a starting point and replace things you might not like: 1. Pita sandwich + gyros or falafel + lettuce, tomato, onion, red cabbage, hummus + tzatziki & lemon honey dijon. Ask for a side of garlic aioli to eat it with! 2. Greek Fries — they’re really good. Ask for a side of garlic aioli as well. 3. If you like hummus I would suggest go with the combo plate instead of the hummus bar, and get hummus as the side option. You will end up with far more for for your money.

Nice to see another non-chain in this little shopping area. I had a tough time fingering out what I wanted, so I went with a standard gyro pita. I am impressed that they make their own pita bread. It really gives the sandwich something a little extra. I was a little disappointed that the gyro meat was not freshly carved from the spit. It was simply taken out of a warming container. I appreciated that they asked which toppings were okay to add. The overall sandwich taste was good, but nothing amazing. The gyro probably isn’t one of their signature dishes. The staff was very friendly and I’ll be back to try something else.

I work across the street and it’s nice to know that there’s another option for lunch within the area. Food quality is really good and for the price, you can’t beat that! I’ve been here twice but during their off hours(weekend lunch and weekday dinner) and the service we received was good. I understand that if you go here during lunch hour they tend to get really slammed. In both instances I’ve ordered gyro pita pocket and flavor wise it was consistent. I would love to try other meats next time. Definitely check this place out!

Whoa, what a surprise find in this little strip mall! Saw the ratings on Unilocal and brought my hubby over here, knowing he hadn’t had a good gyros in a while. He had high hopes when we pulled into this parking lot. Parking: I think it charges during the week, but on the weekend, its free. However, at the Sunday lunch hour it was full and we grabbed one of the last spots. Stepped inside and its neat and orderly. We were Immediately greeted and told about the concept. Its like a Chipotle, but for Mediterranean food. You can get a Pita pocket or bowl and fill it with a variety of meats, toppings & sauces. They hand you your freshly made pita pocket. They have seating inside and a few tables outside, so we opted to sit outside. We were craving Greek, so we had: Pita Pocket, Gyros meat, toppings of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, & lettuce, and sauces of hummus & tzatziki(hubby added hot sauce, too). These FRESH pockets were DELICIOUS. Hubby pronounced it the best Gyros he ever had. In addition, we had the Greek Fries(1 order is plenty for 2 people). These were sooooo good. Fries w/feta & sauce on top. YUM. As if the food wasn’t enough, the staff was all Super Friendly. They take great pride in providing their food. The friendliest staff member seemed like the manager, but I have since learned she’s the owner. She was super excited to tell us of her concept. While chit chatting, she threw in our soft drinks for free. NICE! Thus, we are HUGE fans of this place!
