Mr. Mesnik grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) for his undergraduate degree. Mr. Mesnik has been living in San Diego since 2006. He enjoys San Diego’s great weather and specifically beach sports, cycling, and hiking.

Mr. Mesnik attended California Western School of Law in Downtown San Diego and practices exclusively in the Family Law Field since he was licensed. Mr. Mesnik has extensive knowledge of how to help clients navigate a Divorce, Child Custody issues, Child Support issues, Dissolution of Domestic Partnership, and any other matters in a Family Law Court. Mr. Mesnik services all six (6) Family Law Courts in San Diego County and is knowledgeable about each judge in the Family Law departments.

A retainer is always required and you hope that your attorney will handle your case with exceptional expertise at a reasonable rate. My case is difficult. It deems to take an excellent lawyer great effort to handle it. Fortunately, attorney Matthew Mesnik is the one. My ex took away all of my shares of estates including real estates before & at the beginning of the case. So I had barely any fund to pay legal cost while he has tons. One of his tactics was to file multiple motions and create issues to exhaust my fund. Attorney Mesnik has handled my case in a highly cost-​efficiency way. All motions he filed were granted as requested while all motions filed by other party were denied. He has well prepared for all court appearances, big or small; before or at the court; inside and out. I haven’t seen him under weather once. He has always listened attentively, responded properly and smartly both in and out the court session to the judge and another attorney. He is a naturally articulate person which is a great advantage in explanation of complex issues. He has never discounted my desire, instead, he told me the maximum I could get according to the law. Hiring Matt was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. After a terrible experience with another law firm, I was very hesitant and untrusting in my search for a new lawyer to handle my divorce. I consulted with several, however, once I sat down with Matt, I knew he was my guy. He was honest, upfront, confident and professional all while being extremely genuine and down to earth. That first impression is exactly how he handled, and continues to handle, my case.
No divorce is easy. Mine, however, was one for the books. Custody and transportation issues, child support and alimony negotiations, and one roadblock after another from a completely uncooperative ex who had every trick you could think of up her sleeve. Matt handled every situation and obstacle extremely professionally, while aggressively fighting for all of my rights. Ultimately, Matt was able to negotiate the final terms of the divorce to include the custody and transportation agreement as I requested it, lowered child support and alimony, and a fair division of property, assets and debts.

Having dealt with Courts/Attorney’s for over 10 yrs, I did not have much faith in many. For the longest time I thought, I could go PROPER and just do fine… until I witnessed Mr. Mesnik in court, helping one of his existing clients… dealing with opposing Attorney. Mr. Mesnik left quite an impression on me the way he handled the arguments and presented facts.
Rest his history… I waited outside of the courthouse and after talking to him decided to retain his services to handle my case.

We visited and spoke by phone with several attorneys prior to selectig Matt. He has since opened his own practice, and although my son’s divorce case is now settled, he is still assisting us with final details as needed. He was always available to talk with my son or me when there were very sticky matters of concern. His billing practices were fair, and we never felt overcharged for the time he spent to assist us. I have had personal experiences with a number of attorneys and this was the best experience thus far. My son and I highly recommend him. He is a specialist in Family Law and will tell you the truth about what is reasonable, and what will never fly.

My overall experience with Mr. Mesnik turned out to be a success. I sought out legal counsel last minute and his services were made available. I was able to get in immediately for a consultation and two days later, he was already in court representing me. Mr. Mesnik represented me during my custody & child support hearings; both of which turned out in my favor; which in turn was for the best interest of my child.
