I had been searching for a quality and reasonably priced tailor in San Diego for several years. Sadly, all had failed to meet my basic expectations and were overpriced, had inconvenient hours of operation, and/​or provided mediocre workmanship. And then I stumbled upon Wahdat and Mesa Clothing. His prices are quite reasonable and he delivers what he promises. More importantly, he knows fabrics well and his measurements are correct the first time. I finally found my go-​to tailor in San Diego.

Just dropped off my leather jacket and Wahdat gave me a really good price for the repair I need on it. I will update this review when I pick it up on Thursday.

I had to get my suit altered because I lost some weight. Wahdat did some measurements while I had my suit on and correctly guessed the amount of weight I lost (12lbs haha) Pretty cool! My suit was altered and dry cleaned in one week. It fits perfectly. The whole process was easy, efficient, and worth every penny!

It’s been over a year since I started visiting this shop and have purposely waited to write this review. There have been literally 0 mistakes within that year and I have gotten nothing but excellent products from Mesa Alterations.
It takes time and dedication to master any craft, and Wahdat has put in those efforts. I am lucky to say that he is my exclusive tailor… from casual to black tie and everything in between. He and his team understand that «Fit» is paramount over anything when it comes to clothing. The photo speaks for itself. He took my off-​the-​rack tux and reverse engineered it around my body-​frame. Fire your tailor and come see Wahdat.

Wahdat has been my exclusive tailor for over 10 years.
Was originally introduced to his business by one of the Sales Associates from Nordstrom UTC. I had a leather coat that needed sleeve shortening, and the tailors at Nordstrom did not have a sewing machine powerful enough to punch through the leather. Wahdat does, and was so recommended.
He managed the tailor shop at Fashion Valley Neiman Marcus for a period, and has worked at Nordstrom as well. The appearance of his shop is neat and fastidious, but does not explain the full picture of what he can do.
When I first moved to San Diego 20 years ago, had a friend who was traveling to Thailand go to Jim Thompson Silk in Bangkok and pick me up six yards of heavy black raw silk fabric (had been to this shop in the U.S. Navy, and the fabric is unparalleled, like Loro Piana of Italy for wool fabric)…Salvatore of La Jolla made me a fine suit of it, but he passed away years ago… and I needed a great tailor.
When I stumbled upon Wahdat, and I do mean stumbled, I didn’t know what I was in for. He is a friend… he is a counselor, he is a tailor of impeccable skill and consummate craft. He has made every jacket, suit and slack I have taken to him (perhaps 50?) over this 10 year period fit perfectly, either sizing up or down as needed. Maybe a week’s worth of time until it is ready.
He has lined trousers that were itchy, sewn appliqué patches on leather vests, track suits and shirts… all perfectly. He used to be located on Mira Mesa, in the mall with the Bev-​Mo and UPS store… and was very easy to find, and now he is located on Pacific Heights Blvd, next to a Zumba studio, and a little harder to find, but soooo worth it when you do.
He invited me to lunch when I dropped off a Loro Piana by Nordstrom Cashmere jacket about 10 days ago, said «come by about 2:00 pm when you get back from your trip, and we will have lunch»…I did not know what to expect.

Ste 114 was ready at 2:00 pm on the dot. We sat down in the back of Wahdat’s shop, with myself, Wahdat and his awesome 2^nd chair Don and discussed politics, religion, marriage and family (all taboo topics, right?) easily and without hate, distrust or enmity. Wahdat is welcome at my home at any point, in good times or bad.
Did I mention his tailoring skills? He has a sign hanging in the shop, a credo, that is attached in photos…“It Starts with me, and it is up to me to make Mesa Clothing & Alterations a great experience! I give a timely warm greeting– I am friendly-​I am courteous and professional-​I am knowledgeable-​I build a relationship-​I Iisten to and understand the needs of the customer-​I return calls (If I miss them) and I follow up”.
Wahdat embodies this credo… he can do amazing things with fabric and he is an amazing and humble individual who shows what it means to be an immigrant who comes to America and makes the BEST of it. He isn’t just a great tailor, he is a great person.

Remarkable place to get alterations done. Wahdat is very detailed and super nice. Over these last two years I’ve come here to get a suit, dress pants, and a dress shirt altered. I’ve always been very satisfied with the work and the prices are very reasonable.

Wahdat is the owner /​operator and he is very kind and patient. I went in for a same day hem for some pants and he was able to assist me fast during my lunch break. I also purchased a vest and tie combo at a great price! It was convenient, fast, friendly, and very affordable! I highly recommend Mesa Clothing and Alterations!

I had a women’s suit jacket altered. The sleeves were too long, but since it had buttonholes I needed it hemmed from the shoulder. They did a very good job, I am happy with the worksmanship. The owner texted me when he couldn’t meet the finish date and asked me to give him two more days. I had no problem with that. Excellent customer service skills. The prices are high but worth it.

I am so glad that Wahdat moved to the new location. Parking is no longer a problem and the quality of his work is still top notch. I’ve asked him to alter suit jackets and pants in the past and he also took care of my alterations for my wedding this past weekend. His services are affordable and the quality is much greater than what you pay for.

Wahdat does a great job at tailoring suits. I don’t know what I would’ve done without him. He takes time to take all of your measurements, and asks the right questions (like how you like the break in your pant hem, etc.)
You would think his low prices mean bad quality, but I have yet to have any problems, and the suits fit great every time. Also his turn around time is pretty good too (I got two suits tailored in a week and a half). Would recommend this guy to anyone.

I went in with my mother to get a bustle for my wedding dress. The shop is cute, the dressing rooms were clean, we were greeted when we came in, the owner was super friendly, the figuring out where the bustle need to start was fast, and they said it wOuld be ready in a week! :)

My wife was nervous about being asked to be in a wedding around 3 months pregnant when the wedding would take place when she was approximately 7 – 8 months pregnant. She knew it would warrant purchasing a bridesmaid dress 4 sizes bigger than when she picked it out, and massive alterations. As she had (and I hear most women had) some less than perfect alterations on previous bridesmaid dresses, she knew she needed to find someone who knew what they were doing.
Fast forward three months and the wedding is coming up. My wife has received her dress, and I have two new suits that I have never worn (because I’ve been putting off the alterations due to generally being uncomfortable in suits). My wife takes her dress first, has a wonderful customer experience with Wahdat helping her, and felt like her opinions were listened to and heard. Recommended I also go to get my suits altered there.
They did an amazing job on my wife’s dress both on the initial alterations and also the adjustments after the test-​fitting. Despite being pregnant, my wife still commented that it was the best fitting bridesmaid dress she had ever worn. My suit turned out perfect as well. I typically don’t take suits to alterations places until I’ve typically given it a test run or two (you know, jeans hemmed, a shirt or two, etc.), but due to the wedding and a recent move, it bumped up that schedule. Jacket sleeves were hemmed at the perfect length, and my pants were slimmed/​tapered and hemmed wonderfully.
Needless to say, all the high-​star reviews are warranted and I will be returning to Mesa Alterations again and again.

I love this guy — he is super personal and helpful. He did my wedding dress and my bridesmaids. He was so sweet to everyone and was very quick when we only had a week left to do alterations since the bridesmaids dresses came in late. He definitely delivered! I am not sure how his prices compare to others but his customer service is worth going back for. That being said — I got my sleeves altered, and my wedding dress sleeve did rip & disconnect at the wedding — BUT, they were that weak before he did the alterations, so I can’t say he made them worse (and he gave me the option to make them less constricting. but I decided against it.). He also made them look marvelous so I’m not complaining!!! :)

Thanks you to Unilocal for leading me here. Needed to get a bridesmaid dress altered for my best friends wedding. It was too long and I needed to get it taken out a bit due to being 5 months pregnant at the time. He promised me it would be done in 10 days and he delivered. The dress fit perfectly. The price seemed a bit high but I felt like I had no choice but to pay. The dress itself was only $ 100 and the alterations came to $ 90!

I came here to alter my wedding tux. He did an AWESOME job! I will come here for all my suits form now on. I also got shirts altered. Again, he did an AWESOME job!
He is very easy to work with, does what you want, and the way you want it!

This is a delayed review but I saved the business card to recall the business. Looks like Mr. Wahdat is doing well and he moved locations! No longer at the Mira Mesa shop. but on Pac Heights.
My husband had two suits tailored here last Spring by Mr. Wahdat and they looked amazing. Mr. Wahdat took his time talking to my husband, measuring and properly fitting the two suits. Hubbie loves the «break» in his pants and even brags to his buddies how they really need to go visit «his tailor» in San Diego. Hehe. he enjoys how the suit fits and that there is enough room for him to move around.
Mr. Wahdat also tailored a suit jacket and a pair of work pants for me. I bought the jacket on a super sale two sizes too big. The suit jacket and pants fit great! I am so happy with the final result. I wish I knew Mr. Wahdat did formal gowns! I’ve had one too many dresses messed up by rush job tailors. Definitely planning to come here for dress needs!
His prices aren’t super low, but I would say they are extremely fair for the quality of work and customer service received. Mr. Wahdat was timely in the final product and is now our go to tailor.
Definitely recommend him for women and men. We noted some of the other clientele brought in dresses, suits, pants, jeans, etc. so I believe he is full service!

I met Whadt over a year ago through Unilocal and after months of delaying this review I have decided today is the day!
I first came to Whadt with a load of work slacks that I purchased and needed them to fit me since there was nothing under a 00 petite. I was starting a new job out of town and needed them in two weeks. It was kind of embarrassing since it looks like all my clothes were wearing me and not the other way around. When I picked up my slacks I was amazed on how he made it fit to my figure. There was a pair of slacks that was still a bit loose so he kept that one to fix. All in all it was good! I was able to walk to work without feeling like I’m wearing baggy clothes or tripping over myself.
Since then, Whadt has done a bunch of alterations on my attire from dresses, slacks, coats and also tops. I referred my boyfriend to him and now he’s the only person we trust with our attire.
I had a wedding to attend in Texas during February and at the last minute, I found a beautiful gown at the mall and decided to purchase that gown for my brother’s wedding. I came to Whadt and asked if he is able to get it ready for me in two weeks because I’ve decided to save the other dress he altered for me for a different occasion. He checked his schedule and got the dress done in less than two weeks! All I have to say is Whadt, is amazing. He will get the work done and will do his best to meet your expectation.
A recent gown I brought to him was a big challenge with the fabric, design and cut and he admitted it was going to be a challenge since the designer did not make it easy for alteration. He provided me with recommendations and how he was going to approach that specific material. I trusted him to go at it as long as I could get the dress to a specific length and I have to tell you, I don’t know how he did it but he never fails to impress me.
I wasn’t aware of his new location until I got a text notification. Remember to update your new number with him that way he can get a hold of you. Anyway, I just dropped more stuff from him to work on. If you are heading toward the 805 freeway from Mira Mesa Blvd, turn left on Pacific Heights, and take the first left to the commercial building. (You will see a sign for Public Storage on your right)
From there, take the first right and it should be the second building. (next to zfitness dance).
