History

Established in 2007.

Dr. Farnesi has been studying anti-​aging medicine, preventive health, nutrition and physical fitness since college — for about 20 years. He is board certified in both Family Medicine and Anti-​Aging Medicine and is currently completing a fellowship in Anti-​Aging and Regenerative Medicine. He completed advanced training in cosmetic dermatology over the course of a year prior to opening the practice. He is also completing an advanced master’s degree in metabolism and nutrition.

In 2007 Dr. Farnesi felt medical research in the area of anti-​aging and functional/​regenerative medicine had yielded such overwhelmingly positive results that he decided it was time to change his medical practice from traditional family medicine to a more functional, integrative, and holistic approach. Thus Medical Age Management was born.

Business Owner

Born of Italian parents in San Diego, Dr. F has had a lifelong passion for most outdoor activities and going to the gym. He personally loves practicing good nutrition and lifestyle habits.

He earned a B.S. degree in Physiology from University of California, Davis and then an M.D. degree from University of California, Irvine. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine in 2001 in San Diego.

He finds his relationships with his patients the most rewarding aspect of his career and strives to have the best bedside manor in the business.

He has always enjoyed working with his hands and is a perfectionist, so the cosmetic procedures are a great fit. Furthermore, his personal passion for health and fitness have motivated him to limit his practice now to the areas of medicine he is most interested in — namely functional/​preventive/​integrative health, hormone/​nutrition/​lifestyle optimization, and, of course, cosmetic dermatology.

I was in San Diego for a long weekend and had hear about Medical Age Management from a friend. I had wanted to explore options with someone to see about fixing a couple of areas which I felt were drawing more attention to me than I wanted.
I met with Dr. Farnesi to have a conversation regarding options and although I don’t know much about treatment options, he took his time and explained in depth some of the alternatives I could explore to help fix the areas in need. Once our consultation was complete I selected a couple of treatments based on his recommendation, and I have to say he was spot on with his suggestions. Nothing we did changed any part of me drastically, and after a couple of weeks following my visit I could see a difference in the areas I was wanting to make some changes.
I have already booked my next session with Dr. Farnesi and will be traveling down to San Diego specifically to work with him — definitely not something I had initially planned on doing, however based on his skill level and expertise I can’t see going anywhere else. A five star, very impressive experience that I will be repeating again.

Dr. Farnesi is amazing! He is the only doc who can get my lips to stay plump and natural and botox to be evenly aligned. Also, the numbing crème used is far better than anywhere else I have been to and I have been to plenty of other places prior and found this office to be the best! :D

This is lie and you know it! My purchase was through StellarDeal. It is irrelevant whether this was offered as a discount or not. It is irrelevant whether YOU chose to donate the proceeds to charity. I called multiple times to try and schedule an appointment BEFORE this certificate expired to no avail. I ASKED for a credit or a refund. Your obnoxious employee was of no help. I was told that Johnathan Hale NEVER paid you for the deal. I was told to call him for a refund. I called him and he said he paid you. SOMEONE IS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH.

The service here, both customer service and the professional service are excellent. I had Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peel and a refreshing moisture mask done today. I am an Esthetician of 25yrs and have tried many salons, spa’s and every other place you can think of to have these services so I speak from experience. You wont regret it.

Dr Darren Farnesi of Medical Age Management is the first Doctor to thoroughly analyze every detail of my female «Hormone Symphony».starting from adrenal function and ending with the hormones we are all familiar with. He never skipped over any detail, and I, consequently, have never felt this strong, healthy and vibrant… I was on my own version of Bio-​Identical Hormones for 10 years, before Dr Farnesi took over… I had little or no analysis or support from my former Doctors regarding my hormone balances. Since starting with Dr Farnesi’s care 2 years ago, it has changed my test results, my energy level, my Bone Mineral Density, my strength, my personal relationships, and my feelings about myself… I feel so much younger and filled with energy… He also has provided me with some laser treatments for my skin, which have yielded awesome results… I travel from Reno, NV to see him whenever I need to. I have been to Medical Age Management on several occasions. I met with Gary and have had facial treatments. The last two visits I had microdermabrasion treatments. I have been to many other facilities over the years and have NEVER had the quality or outcome that I experianced at Medical Age Management. I also have never taken the time to write a review but felt compelled to due to the outstanding service and results! I highly recommend anyone that wants to look and feel younger to give them a call. Gary was a pleasure to work with and again I wanted to say Thank You!
