History

Established in 1989.

The World Famous Lucky’s Tattoo Parlor originally opened its doors in 1989 in Downtown San Diego. At that time Lucky’s was owned and operated by Dave Gibson a World Famous Tattoo Artist known for his Traditional style of tattooing. Lucky’s was one of the first tattoo shops in San Diego. In 1999, Shane Modica took over Lucky’s at the point Dave decided to retire. Throughout the years Lucky’s crew has worked along side some of the top tattooers in the industry. Lucky’s prides itself in keeping the tradition of tattooing alive while keeping a clean, sterile, and safe environment for it’s artists and customers. Offering Military discounts since 1989.

Business Owner

Shane has been tattooing for over 20 years. Apprenticed under Clint Riley at Tattooland. Shane specializes in traditional tattooing as well as any script/​lettering. He favors tattooing the more challenging places such as hands, fingers, necks, throats. With Shane’s background and years of tattooing under his belt there its much he can’t do.
