I work a couple blocks from this place and me and some coworkers used to go there when they first open and got good deals on some stuff, it was a little disorganized but was part of the thrill to be looking for stuff at a fraction of the cost. Now is a lot more organized but with that came a lot of restrictions(some include not to touch) as well as price increase, some of the prices they have are similar as Target, Walmart or Cosco and therefore not worth the risk to buy something that might be broken or nonfunctional, me and my friends agree that is no longer a bargain to go there. I went last week just to see if anything had changed and it’s still the same situation and the same old inventory. If you go and want to save some steps before you waste your time check out the TV priced and you’ll be out the door in no time. Hope this help you bargain seekers !!

Talk about being in the middle of the most random location I never would have ventured out to. I’m sure it’s beneficial for the business owner to have it in such a ginormous warehouse literally north of the Otay Mesa US /Mexico border. They have A LOT of stuff! To give you an idea of where exactly this place is, coming from the 805, take the 905 East /Otay Mesa Road, head down about five miles, make a right on La Media, head down a mile, make a left on Siempre Viva Road, right on Melksee Street, then a right on Kerns. There’s nothing but ginormous buildings there, a complete ghost town on the weekends, but if you find yourself near the FedEx building, Lucky 7’s is right behind it. Turn left into their driveway and it’s at the back end of that ginormous building. If you see the barbed wire fence(known as the border between U.S. & Mexico) as you park in the ample parking, you know you’re in the right spot. After giving our phone GPS a good workout in getting there, we walked into a huge open space that had a decent selection of men’s & women’s clothes neatly organized on racks and tables. To give you an idea of what exactly I found, here’s what I remember seeing: –Rock & Republic and Seven jeans –A grey DKNY wrap with sleeves I almost bought for $ 13.99(but it was too big) –A shelf that had a ton of Calvin Klein camisoles & women’s underwear –Hurley & Billabong brand hoodies for juniors –Kirkland brand men’s dress shirts –The 2-pack, Misto olive oil mister for $ 10.99(I just bought the same exact one for $ 14.99 at Costco the week before) –A number of out-of-the-box flat screen TV’s(obviously returns, but the ones on display were on and looked like they worked just fine) –Banged up Kleenex brand tissue boxes(sold in bundles) –Cases of bottled water(cases were maybe missing a bottle or two) –Random snacks I didn’t bother looking at much –Lots of out-of-the-box suitcases that looked like they were in excellent condition –About half a dozen refrigerators –Lots of toaster ovens that looked like they were returned(most had cosmetic wear from the front) –Rows of front-load washer & dryers –Comfy looking recliners or chairs you’d furnish your living room with –Some office chairs –Super soft cushion bathroom rugs(for half the price I paid at Costco) –Lots of sheet sets –Super sized stuffed animals –Electric keyboards –The gel padded seat cushion I bought my Dad a few months ago for $ 7.99(I paid $ 14.99 at Costco) –Lots of stuff for the garden(which I paid minimal attention to since I don’t have a garden of my own) –Small selection of leather bags and electronics locked up in glass cases at the front register –The Michael Bublé Holiday CD for $ 5.99(just bought the same CD at Target two weeks ago for $ 11.99) –The pricey padded kitchen mats we always wanted, but scored on buying them for only $ 14.99 each at Lucky 7’s So that’s it in a nutshell. We didn’t spend too much time rummaging through all the stuff they had for sale and since there weren’t that many customers, we had the luxury to speed shop by walking past all the spacious aisles fairly quickly without having to do so with a crazy crowd trying to find a bargain. Overall, it’s a good spot to check out if you’re a true bargain shopper. Bring paper or plastic to pay for your goodies, an empty bladder since there’s no public restroom(or any restroom for that matter for a few miles available to customers), a jacket because it was freezing in there when we shopped and your patience since you might need some of it when you need to rummage through the stuff. The merchandise is organized, so shopping at Lucky 7’s is not a challenge like some of the larger discount chain stores I need to mentally prepare myself for. I have their ad from yesterday’s paper in front of me, looks like they just started to stay open on Sundays. My suggestion, go there early since they’re only open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. If you can get over the not-so-perfect packaging on a majority of the stuff they sell, then consider going there. Most of the stuff they do sell(that are still in the box) is worth opening up to make sure all the pieces are there and it’s in decent condition for the price you’re willing to pay. Happy shopping fellow bargain hunters, let me know if you scored on something good!
