Dr. Lawrence Truong has been practicing chiropractic for over 12 years and has had a longstanding passion for helping patients and their overall healthcare. Even before his scientific studies in college, Dr. Truong knew he wanted to help people and so he became a volunteer at the Veterans’ Administration hospital in La Jolla, California in 1993. He went on to study both biology and psychology at the University of California, at San Diego to pursue his dream of being involved in health care. While a student, he began to suffer from debilitating headaches and was treated with prescription medication, but did not find relief, only severe side effects from the drugs he was given, which inhibited his studies. As a senior in college, he visited a chiropractor, and for the first time in four years, experienced lasting relief from his headaches, without the need of medication.
