La Jolla Children’s Learning Lab

It is a great day care. The teachers are friendly, kind and helpful .The classes are clean and they have many activities for children. I recomended it. The only reason that I moved my son to another day care because it was so far from my home.

This review is based on our tour of the school.
We came here at the referral of my sister who used to work here a couple years ago. We were looking for a preschool for our almost 2 year old son and the school we had decided to put him in originally did not live up to our expectations (see my review for Little Sprouts if you’re curious.) My sister (who has a Master’s in Child Development) said she really liked the curriculum they have laid out for the children and many of the people she used to work were still there which, to me, is a great sign. Happy teachers make for happy kids!
When we arrived, we were quickly greeted by the director, Kristin. She is extremely bubbly and warm. I immediately felt as ease with her. However, the real test was how she and her staff interacted with our son as well as how well he took to them. He had NO PROBLEM wiggling out of my arms, exploring, talking to the teachers, and bee-​lining straight for the door that leads to the classrooms. After filling out some forms, we finally let him into the hallway and quickly made himself at home. One of the other staff members (Ms. Ursula, I believe) was leading him around making sure he didn’t get himself into trouble :). All the teachers were nice, the kids looked happy.
I am actually excited for him to start later this year which is a lot for me to say because thinking of him being with «strangers» gives me anxiety… however, I feel our son is going to receive the attention, love, and education we want for him here. I will be sure to update my review once he’s started attending :).

Our infant daughter is at La Jolla Children’s Learning Lab. I was a bit weary with the lack of reviews… but after visiting we chose to place our daughter here. She started right at 2 months old and she has been there 5 months. We love the center. The infant room is big, clean, and quite. All of the teachers are great, and Denise, the lead teacher is spectacular. We recently did our first parent teacher conference which was great and really taught me what to focus my daughter on for the next few months. I feel good taking my daughter to this center everyday, it is a nice little community. I cannot recommend this place enough.
