Specialties

We sell a unique plant form called «Kokedama». It is a Japanese Living Art tecnique which takes off from Bonsai. Plant is routed into ball of soil covered with moss which helps to maintain the moisture and growth of the plant. Same concept with Bonsai, the plant grows slowly and stay small. Usually the plant can stay in the moss ball healthy and green for up to three years.

Unlike Bonsai, Kokedama can be made with indoor/outdoor plants suit with your occasion and your taste.

It makes a unique green gift for any occasion.

History

Established in 2014.

The business was established on March 2014.

I created Kokedama about a year ago from the opening of the business when I visited my family in Japan for the first time and I loved it.

The influence came from my uncle Fumio’s will who was a Bonsai teacher in Japan. It is his strong desire to pass on to people how wonderful these small plants are and play a vital role in providing a pleasant and tranquil environment for us. He told me these small plants can offer us peace, calm, and tranquility mind.

My father has taught me about Kokedama after Fumio had passed away and his last words stuck in my mind for a long time.

I feel as though I am meant to be involved with this type of plant business.

I have met many people through this business that are generous and kind. I think it’s plants power that all good people get together with beauty of silence.

Kokedama has not gained popularity in United States as of yet. Hopefully, I can pass on this great Japanese tradition «Kokedama».
