King’s Liquor No 2

I needed a quick spot to go before work for some mints and some water. There’s a coffee place, but I knew going in there would be overpriced and would take forever. The man at the register greeted me when I came in. They had a great selection of everything! I noticed their liquor selection was huge. I told my parents about their wide selection and they go there now too. (They have some kind of liquor that is imported from somewhere, that «Nobody else has!!!”-parents) Overall, the service is friendly and they have what you need! :)

Really nice and friendly, with a great selection of liquor! Definitely recommend this place to as many people as I can.

I’ve come in a few times, mainly to pick up a bag of my favorite type of popcorn. Smartfood Popcorn. I’ve been addicted lately.
This place is really close to my work, so it’s convenient to stop in when I’m having a craving.
They have a VERY limited selection of items, and most of the shelves are filled with empty boxes of candy, gum, etc.
It’s dimly lit, dusty, and old. Not very well kept and obviously not well stocked.
He does have a big selection of alcohol though.
It’s always the same man (the owner) working the cashier.
Today I went in to get a bag of popcorn (ok, maybe three bags– but that’s besides the point). I was on a work call so I brought my stuff up the counter, politely nodded to the owner, and handed him my card.
He proceeds to look at me like I’m stupid, grabs my card and says «What’s this?»
I say, «My card???»
Him: «What for?»
And I’m sitting here thinking, «is he joking?» Maybe he’s trying to be funny.
But no, he is completely straight faced the whole time. Just staring at me.
Then I say, «For this» and I point to my items on the counter.
Another blank stare…
He takes my card, thoroughly examines it, swipes it, then punches in the numbers, waits a few seconds, bags my items, then says «Your card doesn’t work, but here you go»
He hands me the card back, with the bag of items, and then motions for me to leave.
I leave, end the phone call, pull up my bank account, saw that I was clearly charged.
The whole thing was bizarre and just weird. I’ll probably make a stop elsewhere for my popcorn needs.

place was ok. The guy was helpful and the service was good. Selection was a bit small. Works if you are in a hurry.

This is your typical liquor store with a very good inventory of cold beers, liquor, and an average amount of god quality wines. They carry snacks, including ice cream, and provide California Lotto and tickets. In case you are wondering, they do take E.B.T and offer check cashing for a fee and proper I.D.
They also carry all the nick knacks like cigars, cigarettes, lighters, energy booster, gum, and condoms, because you never know when you may need some of those. They have an ATM machine, but it charges a fee.
They gent who served me was busily stocking in the cooler when I came in, but that did not deter him from providing good friendly service at the counter.
