Bheemashakti Yoga is an alternative approach to yoga practice that concentrates on deepening flexibility and strength directly. It does this by two powerful techniques: exercises and breathing method. The major difference is that in the beginning stages asanas (or postures) are not done. They are replaced by exercises (or repetitive movement) that gradually opens major blockages in the body. The breathing method, kapalabathi breath, increases the energy flow in the body allowing the body to become stronger faster.
This approach founder is taught by Jonathan Patriarca in the San Diego area and is beginning to be taught by his top students. Jonathan learned this approach by his master, H.R. Suresh, when he moved to India for 5 years to learn.
Jonathan believes that this approach to yoga will help many students deepen their practice more than any other method. After the student opens major blockages and strengthens their body it will improve their performance in any «style» of yoga.
