I would never recommend this business. You’re better off doing it yourself. I’ve wasted my money on them. They broke my sprinkler, rushed their job which not surprisingly came out very very poor quality. My co workers and family could not believe I paid for what I did with the job they did. I still have issues in the yard but I just don’t wanna deal with it anymore. What goes around comes around.

Josef has a good personality but he is not dependable and not thorough enough with his work like you would expect from a professional and licensed gardener. Last week, I called him about 4 days prior to an appointment but he never showed up. When I called him more than an hour of waiting for my scheduled appointment, he said he was busy and forgot all about my appointment. He said he will send someone else to do the job but the person never showed up. To make a long story short, I will never hire Josef again nor would recommend Josef to anyone I know again.

First person i ever hired to take down our small tree and a couple of grape vines in our backyard. He worked fast and gave me a decent quote for everything. He also hauled a lot of my backyard crap :-) even the ones that i did from the previous day. Maybe he forgot to de-​root one of our grape vines and forgot to remove one of the logs but it’s ok i can deal with it next time :-) i’m just glad that our backyard looks «clean» and i won’t have to deal with crawling vines and fallen fruits that i don’t even like eating. :-)

Where do I begin? Unreliable and poor quality work. I hired Josef to do lawn care and repair a sprinkler system and it ended up costing twice as much as what he originally quoted for only completing half the work. He was suppose to come back out 2 weeks later to complete the other half of the repairs but never showed. When he did «repair work», he over-​looked issues by not testing and checking the system as a result he had to come out multiple times to fix things that should have been done the first time. As of now, I still have a sprinkler system the isn’t fully working because he hasn’t been thorough. He flaked a total of three times in a period of 4 months and I finally gave up. He’s a nice guy and I want to have him do the work but I can’t rely on him or be constantly spending money to hopefully have my sprinkler system working one day.

On the plus side, Josef is extremely knowledgable regarding irrigation systems and his prices are the best!
Now to the down-side…DO NOT hire his company for lawn maintenance. JK landscaping will leave you holding the bag and disappointed.
We made the mistake of hiring Josef to do our front lawn maintenance. The day agreed upon for mowing, weeding, trimming, and cleanup was every other Sunday. Instead, Josef performed to the beat of his own drummer and didn’t seem to think it was important to show up on scheduled Sundays, but when it was convenient for him… or not at all.
When he did show up, the lawn care was sub par at best, and we always had to clean up after his work.
The last straws were not showing up on his regularly scheduled day and not showing up the next week because he «had a bigger job» and he moved his Chula Vista and Bonita customers to Thursdays. This wouldn’t have been as big of a deal except that he left us in a lurch AGAIN by NOT showing up again for the second week in a row.
South Bay customers, BEWARE! Do NOT hire JK Landscape & Design for lawn care! He’s a small business who apparently has bitten off more than he can handle. Unless you draw pictures and spell everything out and babysit his work, you will regret hiring this company… that is if he doesn’t leave you a voice mail with some lame excuse for not showing up. Don’t be fooled by his low quoted price. We’ve learned from our mistake and are looking elsewhere. We have also notified the home advisor site as well.

I hired Josef to clear out some large brush and cut down some tree branches. He came out to see what he needed to do and gave me an estimate. When he came back to do the work, instead of hauling away the debris and brush, he left it sitting in my back yard for WEEKS! So then he comes back (2 weeks later) to cut up the rest of the bush and I figured he come back to cut down those big branches he cut previously and take them away… NO…HE JUST LEFT THEM THERE AGAIN! So needless to say I had to call another gardener, who I’ve now hired permanently, to cut and haul the debris and brush Josef left behind. My new gardener is awesome, has multiple helpers, fair price and more importantly TAKES ALL THE DEBRIS AWAY! Sorry JK, but you just couldn’t get the job done!

JK Landscape and design was the first landscaping business to return my phone call, lucky for me. They were quick, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. When they were finished, I was shocked to see how low the bill was. I will definitely use JK Landscape and Design again.

JK Landscape & Design is extremely friendly, professional, and affordable. I don’t trust any one else to maintain my yard and would highly recommend th JK Landscapers to anyone looking for a superb gardening services!!!
