Japanese Brush Painting Exhibition Taka Sumi E

This was a wonderful exhibit with great displays of varying levels of brush paintings and fun educational demonstrations. I really enjoyed so many of the pieces, and there was a great little area for kids to also do some hands on brush painting activities. Totally free, this was a great event to check out in Balboa Park, and has inspired me to try brush painting as well! I hope they continue to hold this event every year! It’s not a huge exhibit, so if you only have a limited time, it isn’t overwhelming, but if you have a lot of time, they have something new going on every hour, from painting demonstrations from the master, to dances and music performances. It was a beautiful day to be in the park and enjoy some art!

Kids are enjoying brush painting, amazing art, music and dance.
