I’m still in shock right now about what just happened! I was supposed to get my teeth cleaned and that never even happened. Instead what I experienced was unethical ways of presenting me with things that my other dentists never pointed out (only attempted to try a new office because they were closer to my house but after this I will keep the honest dentist I have).
Had I gone to Unilocal and looked at the reviews first I world have never booked an appointment here! Why? Because I had literally a verbatim experience similar to another bad review of this dentist. Never having a cavity in my entire life all of a sudden I have two mind you this was not found by the normal why all dentists find cavities… They used a laser that measures my enamel density based on the reading I had two little cavities and when I asked why my other dentist whom I had been to not too long ago never found one the dentist says «I’m so sorry sweetie) it’s just normal wear and tear (really am I that stupid)!!!
So let’s recap, I booked an appointment to get my teeth cleaned (which never happened because they were too busy trying to find anything the tap out the 2,000 I get a year from my insurance) they did some weird stuff like taking pictures of my face inside my mouth using lasers and here the topping on the ice cream… The receptionist pulls me into a conference room (really a dentist with a conference room) and attempts to trick me into signing an investment treatment document (again do you think I’m that dumb) so she rights refused to sign where my signature was supposed to go… And it just doesn’t stop there I counted her mention the $ 2,000 which is the annual benefit (key words being annual meaning no more for the rest of 2014) it was mentioned 6 times as if that was the end game to find issues that were never there and try to force feed me and shove down my throat that I needed this unnecessary work done.
I finally had to tell the receptionist how incredibly uncomfortable I was that I did not trust a word of what was being said and to please end the ridiculous conversation she tried to continue to have with me.
I am saddened that businesses like this exist because it’s just wrong no matter how you look at it IT IS WRONG!
The fact that I had an experience with this dental office that is almost literally verbatim of someone else’s review on this business makes me sick and also proves that the gut reaction I had and the uneasiness I felt was for a reason… I’m not that naïve.

Dr Loye did the six month smile procedure on my teeth. I could not be happier with the results. He was very clear about every step on each visit. He has a really great personality, it makes you feel very comfortable and I love Ellen at the front desk! I would recommend Carmel Creek dental to anyone looking for an excellent dentist

I have been going to Dr. Loye for 8 –10 years and have been very happy with his work. He has a great staff and is very professional while still being friendly. My brother and nephew are both dentists so i have very high standards and Dr Loye and his staff definitely meet them. I would strongly recommend Dr. Loye to anyone looking for a great dentist.

Be aware! They made a route canal treatment for my daughter and told me that she has 9 more cavities, and we should treat them immediately. Turns out, after an outrageous amount I have paid for route canal, they did not do it, now we have to re-​do the whole thing by another dentist and she has no other cavities, it was bogus. This is fraud and I will give the whole matter to my lawyer.

I decided to try Carmel Creek Dental because they are right across the street from work and a coworker recommended them. I will NEVER go back.
The red flags began almost immediately, when, after a cursory exam, the hygienist, in a chipper voice, asked if I knew my mouth was full of decay. Actually, no, I wasn’t aware of that. I’d seen another dentist only six months before and they didn’t see fit to mention it. The dentist did a quick pass at my teeth and announced that I had eight cavities. Yup, eight. So halfway through what turned out to be a less than thorough cleaning, the hygienist stopped so the receptionist could give me the quote for the fillings — which would have been $ 500 out of pocket and depleted my dental insurance for the year. Then they tried to upsell me on a $ 40 polishing treatment, which every other dentist I’ve been to has done for free.
I told them I needed to wait until the new year and meanwhile I started collecting recommendations from friends for other dentists. I just went to somebody else (five months after my experience at Carmel Creek) and it turns out I only have TWO small cavities, which he was able to fill the same day as my cleaning. I can’t believe that this dentist is still allowed to practice, and I will certainly not be returning there.

I would not suggest this place. Although they are VERY nice and accommodating, Dr. James Loye will tell you that you need work done that you don’t actually need done. I came in for a simple cleaning and left with a piece of paper stating I needed $ 2,500 worth of work done. I was astounded! He said I needed 2 crowns and many other fillings. Even though my insurance covered 50%, my portion would be $ 2500. I decided to get a second opinion. The next dentist told me that I did not need ANY crowns and that I had a few cavities to fill and after my insurance, my portion would be $ 300. Yes, you read that right. James Loye was trying to con me out of $ 2500 telling me I needed crowns that I didn’t actually need. I am so glad I got a second opinion. Like I said, the staff is very friendly, especially Helen at the front desk, but it’s just not worth it.

Dr. Loye and the staff are really friendly and helpful. But I would not recommend Dr. Loye for a few reasons: first, he installed a crown on a molar over a year ago that has been sensitive to hot/​cold (although decreasing) ever since. Additionally, he left a huge void between the crown and an adjacent molar that gathers food after each meal, requiring me to carry floss at all times. Second, the descriptions on the invoices I receive are vague (at best) and the latest one simply said, «balance forward.» AND all services except cleanings require PREPAYMENT. Yes, that’s right, you have to pay when you schedule the appointment, not when the work is completed! They should just post a sign that says «We don’t trust you! (so why should you trust us?!)» But the last straw was this morning when, after a related health issue forced me to cancel an appointment with limited notice, Dr. Loye’s office actually had the nerve to write me an email requesting that I keep the appointment! Seriously?! I’m movin’ on…

I unfortunately had a bad experience with Dr. Loye’s office. Their mis-​handling of my insurance and their following up by sending the bill to a collection agency has left a horible «taste in my mouth». Their office manager was worthless in his ability to make simple assessments of my insurance coverage and a simple teeth cleaning request was billed as at $ 1300 service. After paying out of my pocket about $ 650, Dr. Loye’s office is pursuing another $ 650 for claims my insurance company said they would never pay. It is not my issurance company’s fault, but the office manager’s assertion they would cover it. I would never set foot in this office again.
