I came to Isabela in October after my fiancé recommended her great dermatology service and scheduled my first appointment with her.
I had a terrible skin problem where my face was very irritated, dull, and dry and it seemed like every product I had been using (foolishly) was just making it worse. I was trying everything from home remedies, DIY masks to pinterest skincare recommendations and everything seemed to trigger my problem more and more.

Consulted a dermatology book during session which was (in time succession): cute in its naiveté, a tad unnerving that she didn’t have it memorized, comforting in that she knew what she didn’t know and wished to provide the best service/​treatment options.

Just finished up with my follow-​up appointment (~ 1 week post facial) so we could assess how my skin reacted to the facial and to the new skin regimen & products. This was a very nice touch, as sometimes it is difficult to ascertain minor changes in your own self. She was thorough and honest in how to proceed.

To me, getting a Brazilian wax is one of the worst experiences ever, but Isabela makes the unbearable bearable. She’s very easy to talk to and she makes you feel comfortable so it isn’t so awkward. It also hurts less then anywhere else I’ve been to. I’ll be sticking with her for waxing and I can’t wait to try one of her facials!

Thank God, Buddha, Ganesa, Jehova, Allah and all deities for Isabela and her magical healing powers. I too found her through Groupon about a year ago for the brazilian waxing deal. On the 2^nd visit I noticed she also gives facials. So I gave it a shot and booked a facial for my next visit. What did I have to lose besides my acne? Let me tell you, I have been addicted ever since. Isabela has kept me on a transformable facial regimen. She has used different products on my face so it will not develop a resistance. She knows her stuff! I have had really bad acne in the past, ever since I was 15. I never did extractions, I hated them. But that is the most vital part in keeping your skin clear and free of blockages. Needless to say Isabela does it with ease and it doesn’t take that long. She’s not afraid to get down in there too! She also does micro-​dermabrasion to soften my dermis and smooth out my old acne scars. She also has this electric machine that zaps pimples in it’s path and it does wonders with curbing its growth. After living with 15 years of acne, my skin has never been so flawless. I have more confidence now and it shows. My family, friends and coworkers have also noticed a change. Isabela is really wonderful. I’ve been to many, many different waxing salons in San Diego in the ten years I’ve lived here, and Isabela is by far the best. She’s very thorough, gentle (or as gentle as one can get… Ripping hair out by the roots in delicate areas isn’t the easiest thing in the world). I’ve had bikini waxes that take ages and they still don’t get everything, but Isabela is really efficient and is super careful to ensure that things are nice and tidy. She is also a genuinely nice person and makes scheduling (and rescheduling when life gets crazy) a breeze. I haven’t had one of her facials yet, but if they’re as good as her Brazilian waxes, then I’m sure they’re amazing!

Every time I go to get wax or get a facial, I dont get disappointed. The facials I get from Isabela are by far, the most effective ones I had ever had. Every time my skin needs a rescue, I go to this amazing spa. As far as the waxing goes, I never experienced such painless, quick and well done waxing services. I will be back for sure!

I originally purchased the 2 Brazilians for 1 Special off of Groupon to give it a try (my 1^st time going Brazilian). I was pretty nervous/​anxious my first trip in, but Isabela was very comforting and made me feel at ease. The waxing itself was, of course, a bit painful (the 2^nd time I made sure to take some ibuprofen 1^st).
When I made it back in for the 2^nd appointment, I was pleasantly surprised that Isabela remembered details of our small talk during my 1^st session — the fact that I had just moved in with my bf, moved to a new apartment, etc. I was so at ease with Isabela and her services that I am hooked! I scheduled a facial (she has great reviews for her personalization and talent for those) and was impressed with that as well.
The facial was a hybrid of her signature and exfoliating facials; just what my face needed. She wasn’t pushy about trying to upsell me for a facial every month or anything, either — that was refreshing! She recommended about once per season (I am pretty fair-​skinned, slightly sensitive). She was genuinely very passionate about her work and giving me a treatment that was tailored to me and my skin.
I am now a repeat customer, about to go in for my 4^th waxing from her next week. She has made a customer for as long as I am in San Diego!
I recommend Isabela Skincare for anyone looking for a personalized facial or a «gentle» waxing (oxymoronic, I know!). Lastly, Isabela herself seems to be overall genuine, caring, passionate and easygoing — great qualities to have for someone who does what she does; and who does it well!

I love Isabela and her business. The place isn’t a huge nail salon/​facial/​hairstyling conglomerate like many skincare places. The focus is facials and waxing (and there’s also a sweet lady that does eye lash extensions). When you enter, expect a comfortable sitting area that’s nicely decorated. The rooms are clean (SO important!), quiet and well lit. Isabela herself is professional, punctual and easy to talk to… all qualities I greatly value. The prices are reasonable and parking is a breeze in that neighborhood. If you’re a first timer, give yourself a few minutes extra before your appointment to find the place. It’s a bit tucked away off the street.
