Sushi is good but service is slow… the $ 25 all you can eat is a good deal when you’re with friends and want to try the menu!

The 4 stars are basically for the amount of food you get for the all you can eat menu. We got the mussels, clams with uni, shrimp and mushroom skewers, 6 piece sashimi plate, salmon tuna albacore octopus and mackerel nigiri and the Jessica albacore roll and a beer and sake. I would DEFINATELY get the sashimi, shrimp and mushroom skewers, and the salmon albacore and octopus nigiri… Everything else was OK except the mackerel tasted BAD… The amount of food is excellent but the quality is just OK

Went there 4 dinner a few nite ago, and the $ 25.00 all u can eat sushi the first chef totally ignore me n after sitting there 4 almost 10 or 15 minutes. The Head Sushi Chef came n made me some good sushi n sashimi. When I go to Sushi my favorite sits is the Sushi Bar bcause I like to interact with the sushi chef n the dinners @ the sushi bar. And that is y I was very disappointed when I was ignore. Anyways what u get miso soup, edamame n all the sushi n rolls for $ 25.00 is a very good deals. I will come back here again n this time hopefully its will b a better experience.

I don’t eat sushi, but from the orders my friends had — everything looks beautiful, Clean & filling! I ordered a pork bento box, which even surprised me because I did not expect the tempura veggies, shrimp &2 pieces of sushi to come along with it! My friends opted for the $ 25 all you can eat seafood buffet during dinner. I guess you can order as much as you would like off of this form they provide you, but if you don’t finish a roll or an item they charge you for that items menu price on top of the $ 25??? Anyway, however it works, it seems to be a decent deal. The interior is prettier than I expected. Very cozy & romantic. The music they had playing was very romantic too, love song after love song! My girlfriends & I kept cracking up at the super love jams. If you want to be romantic — this is the place!

If you come here for all you can eat sushi, I hope you are ready for the ultimate food coma. I went here for the first time on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. I went with two starving gentlemen and at $ 25 per person they were bound to get their moneys worth. We each had miso soup, edamame, sashimi plate(one per person on the AYCE menu), split 14 rolls of sushi(Jessica roll was my fave) and green tea ice cream. Now that I wrote that, I’m kinda shocked we ate all that in one sitting. Better get my booty to the gym. We’ll for sure be back and spread the work out to some friends.

I went there for lunch recently, and although the prices are good, below is a summary of why I wont go there again. — After the server took our order, we waited 1 hour for our food to arrive. — Our server had not been back to the table since they took the order — We had to serve ourselves by getting up and asking random servers to help us — Every roll had way to much rice on it, and barely enough fish to cover the top of the roll from edge to edge, or inside. It was like eating a rice ball with fancy sauce on it. — It took 30 minutes to bring us our check. Half of the table had left already during this time and those that could stay around waited. Food, and Service were really bad!

GREAT prices, as far as sushi goes. I frequented this place before the new management, and it actually used to be even cheaper, if you can believe that! The sushi is good– it isnt the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it’s great if you have a lunchtime sushi craving, and dont want to spend a ton of money :) It can get really crowded during the Sorrento Valley lunch rush

This place is awesome! It was recently taken over by new management and since then it’s been even better! All you can eat everything for $ 25.00. The service is what tops the cake. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. You can tell they honestly love their job which makes the experience 100 times better. Anytime I’m craving sushi this is my go to place. The ONLY downside is parking sucks. Very small parking lot with about 10 parking spot.

Underrated for a cheap sushi restaurant. Don’t come here if you expect amazing quality. Only come here when you crave sushi but you don’t feel like spending a lot of money(if you feel like spending, go to Kaito Sushi in Encinitas). Like every other AYCE sushi place, rolls are just covered in sauce, and every other roll has spicy tuna, but they taste pretty good for its price. Probably shouldn’t get sashmi here either… know what to order and you will be fine.

This place gets a 5 star because it’s the best sushi deal ever! Here’s what I had for $ 25 all you can eat sushi 6 sashimi 6 nigiri sushi 2 oysters with uni 2 baked mussels 2 hand rolls(Unagi avocado!) 7 rolls(my fav Jessica Albacore) choice of green tea or plum ice cream tea AND it’s the friendliest place ever! Chef and servers talked to us and kept on offering more food but I just couldn’t anymore. Will be back!(and parking is easy)

Hell no. I did not just pay $ 10 to get 6 pieces of old, frozen sashimi. I can be a little forgiving when it comes to salmon, but even those slices were pathetic, limp and pale. Sushi was okay, but not enough to make me come back. No fresh fish, no return. Don’t underestimate your patrons’ knowledge of seafood.

I am giving them the last star! Not only is the food unbelievable and plentiful but their service is phenomenal. Most all you can eat places start huffing and puffing after your first round of order. But here, the waiter is so nice and friendly and makes you feel like you should eat your money’s worth. We constantly ask for refills of seaweed salad or wasabi or drinks and he is always so patient and happy. Even the chefs behind the bar start talking to us. They didnt take their time making the rolls and brought it out to us pretty quickly. The fish was fresh and very generous portion. Also the rice portion is so small on the nigiri! Which I love since I don’t want to fill up on rice! Love it here!

Reasonably priced but not always tasty. They don’t have any rolls to rave about, they’re very small which is why they’re between $ 6.50 and $ 9. Their Gyoza are good. Sometimes the fish is fresh and sometimes it’s whatever. It’s close to work so we have some lunch breaks here. Make a reservation because the place isn’t small but for some reason they don’t have more than 10 tables i’d say. The sushi bar is huge so if you go in when all their tables are taken, they’ll ask you and your party to sit at the bar. They used to be a part of the MOGL community but they just recently dropped out so I don’t get 10% back from them anymore, which is why I probably won’t be coming here anymore. For those of you who don’t know what MOGL is… it’s a service you sign up with that gives you 10% back on all your restaurant purchases(alcohol included!) and they have over 1200 restaurants in San Diego that are affiliated with them so it’s worth it to sign up and it’s free :-)

I will definitely be returning another time for their all you can eat sushi. :) They do have this one weird requirement, if you’re sitting at a booth, you can order as much as you want but you only have 2 times to do it in. So you can’t order a third time, meaning you better order everything the first two times! If you sit at the bar though, then you can order as many times as you’d like so that’s what I did. :) I always for the nigiri sushi and they are pretty amazing to say the least. I came around 5, when it first opened so there was really no one there which i love. The sushi chefs were all really nice and so was the waiter. With tax and tip, it basically came to around $ 26. I think it’s pretty decent for the quality of the sushi. They are good sizes. The rolls are also very filling, not everything on the regular menu is on the AYCE menu but there’s still a ton. I would definitely recommend this place! bombdotcom!

Hon sushi is closed to where I work and it’s literally within the working distance from my office. So I was just gave a try when it brand opened. Turns out that it’s better than expectation so I become a regular diner. Pros. — Various choices of rolls. Price is fair. — Fish is fresh. I mean fresh. — Friendly restaurant crews. I prefer Alaska roll and Chirashi bowl. Give both of them a try if you’re first time here. For $ 12 Chirashi bowl, I think it’s a steal(see the picture I uploaded). I normally go there during my lunch break and occasionally I went for dinner as well. It is mostly crowded around noon time so do expect some waiting time.

This place has decent food at decent prices. It’s not my fav sushi place, but it’s still good. The Snowball roll($ 5.50) is my favorite thing to get here. The cucumber paradise roll($ 7.50) is also really great and leaves me feeling healthy ;). One word of caution though, its hard to eat because it falls apart so easily. Prices are reasonable — around $ 5-$ 9 per roll. I wish the counters didnt have so many things in front of them as I really enjoy watching them create the rolls. There are a few prime places on the corner near the register if you want to watch them. I suggest sitting at the bar if you are in a time crunch(during lunch etc). It’s very quick and efficient and you can just hand the chefs your order slip. The waitresses here tend to be very slow and like to just stand in corners and chat.

Loved: Jalapeño crunch roll. No rice, just a jalapeño stuffed with delicious seafood goodness, battered, and fried to crispy perfection. Cucumber paradise rolls, no rice, gets the job done. Sashimi is fresh and delicate. The salads I’ve ordered so far(seaweed, ahi, salmon skin) are big enough for two people or one very hungry herbivore(ME). The staff are nice too, and give you an adequate balance of attention to make sure you’re being watched over and left alone at the same time. I did go over there once during the peak of the lunch hour and service took longer. So when I do go, I get there earlier. I love the high ceilings of the place and sushi bar is at the center with seating all around the perimeter. I don’t feel crammed in this place even when it’s full.

I come here from time to time with some coworkers when I’m in the area. I usually get bento box for lunch, sometimes I get the chicken teriyaki, other times the chicken katsu. In the bento box includes tempura vegetables, ginger salad, miso soup, rice, and california rolls. I usually don’t get the sushi here, but I have had their caterpillar roll that I’ve shared with coworkers, it was good, then again, you can’t really mess up baked sushi with avocado on top. Again, this review is more for the lunch bento boxes, I can’t really say much about their sushi since I haven’t had their extensive list of sushi. However, the place is clean, kind of hidden, if you’re not careful, you can drive past it.

CW and I came by here for lunch and I wanted to puke up my meal… What can I really say more? The most damning thing about my meal here was that my sashimi was not fresh in any way. If it wasn’t for me chugging my water after each bite, I wouldn’t have gotten it down. I was starved and he drove up all the way from downtown just to have lunch, so I kept my grumbling to a minimum. I’m in the Sorrento area quite a bit but I would never come back here! No wonder the parking lot was practically empty when we pulled up. Do yourself a favor and head across the street to the food court.

Close to work — Check. Reasonably priced sushi — Check. DELICIOUS! — Check! I’m a fan. Check this place out! Initial recommendations: — Try out their soft shell crab roll! I posted a picture of the huge 8 piece roll. — If you like spicy tuna rolls — this will be your to-go lunch sushi place!
