When you have to wipe your face, after every bite, you know the burger is huge and delish. Went there and ate for a Padres/Marlins game. Got the triple bacon burger and onion rings. I wish I could eat such a great burger all the time. #delish

My Gawd I’ve tried a lot of burgers in my day and I’m obsessed with Hodads now! I don’t know why I waited so long to try. I think it has Slaters 50⁄50 and Rockys in PB beat hands down! Maybe I was just really hungry? Ha I had a double burger and onion rings. Amazing!

This season this is our 2nd time here, opening day we were here with some friends, we waited 1 ½ hours and never got a server, never ordered food, the hostess was gracious but the chaos was horrible., somehow I feel that if Mike was around, things would have been different. The manager came over, and apologized because we asked to speak to him, he asked me «what can I do» My response was«what would Mike do» If you ever met Mike you know exactly what he would do Take care of his customers. The manager failed to staff hodads properly for opening day. 2nd time here, we got food this time! Service was fair, they are short staffed, all the staff we talked to were complaining about something… now the food… Frings were overlooked and greasy, burgers were greasy and over cooked, I’m sad to say this, but Mike is probably rolling in his grave He would have never ever let this business he worked so hard for be in such a decline… sorry Mike… By the way, I’m a season ticket holder since 1997, I have visited hodads since they opened here at Petco park. Mike was always on top of his staff and the quality of his food.

One of the better options in Petco and you don’t have to wait in a long line! It is a bit of a walk if you have field level seats but close if you’re in the family section. Their burgers are huge and very savory!

So awesome this is in Petco. The fries are great. Burger tastes just like the original, which is to say, it’s good. Petco is so much better for having this burger stand.

Is there anything more authentically San Diegan than the Padres? Well, maybe Hodad’s fits the bill. When Hodad’s opened their sit-down restaurant at the ballpark between the 2nd and 3rd levels, it added a new much more satisfying option for a good burger(and/or beers) before, during or after a game. To get the burger to-go, you just had to order at the bar, assuming you could get past the line. Now a Hodad’s burger in your seat is even easier. Now on the right center field side of the Park at the Park(on the other side of that main drag from where Phil’s BBQ and Bumble Bee Tuna have their stands), Hodad’s has a kiosk offering their awesome ½ lb cheeseburgers, fries and those tallboy 16(or are they 20?) oz cans of beer. My two buddies ordered their burgers fully loaded, while I wanted the LTM but hold the ketchup mustard pickles and onion. Was no problem — came right up and was just perfect. The line moved fast, the fries were amazing and the burger was much better than the standard ballpark burger from the various bayview grills at pretty much the same price point. My biggest problem was I ran out of ketchup for the fries — next time I’ll try a heavier pour. I love Hodad’s, and while this location lacks some of the Hodad’s personality more pronounced at their sit-down restaurants, the burger is the same. To me, it tastes like San Diego.
