I went in for a complementary redo of my gel manicure. This second experience was great! The application was much better and most of them lasted over 2 weeks!
The 7 day policy for gels was great and I’m glad I got to get a better application the second time around. Thanks Cindy!

I have been coming to Hello Birdie for a couple weeks now. All I can say, is wow! Every time I come here for lashes or nails, the staff have been amazing. Everyone is really sweet and incredibly talented. I wanted to give a special shout out to Erica and Nicky for handling my eyelashes like a pro even though my eyes tend to stay slightly open throughout the appointment. Sorry about that guys lol! Anyway, I recommend anyone that wants to rock beautiful lashes or legit nails to come here :)!

Booked a large party here with my co-​workers for a fun end of the week treat. The salon was so cool, stylish and fun! We brought our own rose & champagne in which was no problem to aid to the nail party. We loved it so much, the nail artists were super sweet and everyone had such a blast! Cindy was so accommodating to our large party and made sure all of us were treated to unique, individual nail art. Will definitely be back!

I just can’t say enough about how great Hello Birdie is. Everyone there is talented, nice and professional. You can’t miss if you make an appointment with any of the technicians. I have had my hands and toes done and my nails have never been prettier or healthier. The gel manicures last almost 3 weeks for me, I’ve had some great nail art and I just look forward to every appointment. It’s my new happy place!

I came in a few weeks ago to get a gel manicure, Ashley was my nail tech. I told her that my gel manicures have never lasted me more than a week, and she had so many different solutions to solve the problems I have! My nails lasted me through work for a week, a 5 day music festival, and a college graduation weekend! She was incredible, these girls care about what you want and need! The atmosphere was relaxing and the décor is so lovely. I would recommend this nail salon to anyone! Also, my manicure cost as much as any other place I’ve been to, and I really got quality results! the ladies here are amazing! such a good service! I don’t get my nails done but I did sit on the bench to have my 9 year old daughters first time to a nail salon. they were very nice to her and did a very good job. it was a lot less expensive then I expected. Very fashionable we will be in again. it was a good time!

First, make an appointment if you can. This place is incredibly popular and you cannot always get service as a walk-​in (I tried twice before finally setting up an appointment). Having only been open a year, this place has a loyal client base. I noticed employees saying hello to clients by name when they walked in, so this is a friendly environment with lots of repeat business.
Second, I appreciate that they use nail polished free of carcinogens as I’ve been reading more about how the body absorbs toxins that are commonly found in beauty products.
Third, this place is very clean. I noticed that the nail techs unwrapped fresh disinfected tools. They also bring a bowl of water to you for your feet rather than having the traditional thrones with built-​in sinks. I must say I’ve never really liked pedicures because I’m not entirely certain the sinks are cleaned well enough in between pedicures, so I liked this difference.
Fourth, they ask you what you want rather than just assuming that they know what’s best for you. Not everyone wants Instagram eyebrows and long pointy fingernails, right?
Now, on to the services… I initially set up an eyebrow shaping with Erika. Erika talked to me about what I wanted done in terms of completely reshaping or if I wanted to just clean things up a bit. I let her know that my brows are pretty uneven, and she was able to make things more symmetrical than I thought possible. I usually don’t like getting my brows done because I feel that they come out a bit too thin and I’m rarely completely satisfied, but this experience was phenomenal and I already have my follow up appointment set up!
On that same visit, I got a pedicure by Dulci and a manicure by Claire. Again, I was given a short profile card to fill out with my preferences. I filled out my preferences regarding the shape of the nail, if you wanted your cuticles cut or not (I always push them back and only trim if I have a hang nail, but nail technicians usually won’t listen to me and try to cut them anyway, then I either have to just deal with it or have a really awkward conversation/​borderline argument with them, which makes it awkward to sit there in silence the rest of the time until your nails are dry), if you are ticklish, what temperature you like your water, etc. I think this is a fantastic idea that I’ve never seen other places implement.
The QUALITY of service was excellent. I got a compliment on my eyebrows the next day, which I didn’t think was a thing people complimented other people on, but I guess it is! The edges of the mani/​pedi are impeccable. My nails look practically photoshopped. I mean, really. They are perfect. This place also does nail art, which I did not get, but I did see some photos of the work and it is lovely. LOVE this place and highly recommend.

Love this cute boutique style salon in the heart of North Park. Bethie did a fantastic job on my nails! I wanted something fun and more grown up and she nailed it (pun intended). I’ve never really had nail art and she did a beautiful job. A week and a half later my nails still look good. That’s saying a lot as I’m a nurse and my hands take a beating pretty much everyday.

Feel like I’m walking on a cloud. So glad I decided to treat myself (and what I stand on everyday) good. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I love that I could sip wine or coffee as I’m getting pampered. my feet were really calloused and not looking so nice… Another wonderful.

I had a manicure at Hello Birdie a few weeks ago and had a fantastic experience! I sat at the pedicure stations instead of the manicure bar because my other friends I was with were getting pedicures. The stations were comfortable and the receptionist promptly offered me a glass of wine once I was seated! I miraculously was booked with Claire and had the best manicure I’ve ever had. I brought a few pictures of what I wanted and she made some suggestions that made me feel like she could read my mind! I was so happy with the finished product. I got a gel manicure and it lasted me a solid 2.5 weeks before the grow-​out got to be too annoying for me (absolutely NO chips, though! Incredible!) My friends that came with me were also extremely pleased with their manicures and pedicures. I can’t wait to come back in and see Claire again. :)

Cindy, the store owner was so friendly. I loved that when you first walk in for your appointment that she offered a plethora of beverages. She was also playing a great selection of 80s music that morning. Moka was the artist that did my nails. She did a great job at creating almond shaped nails with the Hard Gel technique, especially on my thumb nail (which decided to break down to the nail bed the night before my appointment)
Now that I’ve said all the things I LOVED about this boutique, I do have some side comments that I think if taken into consideration could help the business flourish. While I sat and got my nails done I watch Cindy have to turn away a good handful of walk-​ins. Not sure how the employee situation is set-​up at this particular salon, however having one spare artist on hand would be super handy just to increase revenue when it comes to walk-​ins. Why only limit yourself to appointments? That’s all I really have. I hope the boutique salon nothing but the very best, unfortunately I moved back to the Midwest, otherwise I would definitely make this my go to nail salon. They would probably grow tired of how frequently I would love to visit.

Very clean facility! The staff here is amazing and they offer cold beverages as soon as you walk through the door and always offer to refill it when it gets low. The owner especially is incredibly nice! I’ve gotten my acrylics done there twice now and also gotten my toes done and they’ve always come out looking great. The main reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because they lift up easy and with my first set I had 3 nails break in less than a week and with this second set I’ve had one broke after only 3 days. Now I am definitely NOT hard on my nails, they broke while I was doing things like scratching my leg.

Yay for social media. This place followed me on instagram so I checked out theirs and LOVED all the styles they could do. I immediately called to book an appointment! (They are super busy so walk ins is definitely risky!) I had Maria work on me and she was super nice and really talented. The place is cute and they have a lot of nice touches, such as a nail preference sheet. The quality of my manicure is amazing! Its been almost two weeks on a gel manicure and there is not even one chip. This never happens to me.
The only reason I didn’t give them five stars is their manicure set up isn’t the most relaxing. You basically sit on a bar stool which isn’t ideal. However, while I was there, a woman came in for a manicure and asked to sit in the pedicure chairs, so that is what I will do next time.

On one of my strolls around the North Park neighborhood (a favorite pastime lately) I stumbled upon this salon. While at first I didn’t actually enter the salon, the beautiful décor and clean look intrigued me. I have a nasty habit of judging a book by its cover. I decided to make an appointment to get my eyebrows waxed. That appointment took place yesterday.
I recently moved back to San Diego and had been looking for a new place to get my eyebrows done. Finding new places to do this terrifies me, and as such, my eyebrows were unruly. I mean this seriously, they were out of control!
Kristyn was amazing! She has a serious gentle touch, normally I’m a total wuss when it comes to waxing and plucking, but I barely even noticed anything was happening! She kept the conversation flowing nicely the whole time, it never felt fake or forced. My eyebrows are beautiful again and I am one hell of a happy lady!
As for the salon itself, it’s gorgeous! It’s very clean and modern and looks comfortable. The girls at the front desk were awesome, I was offered a drink twice (by two different people) and they remembered my name and greeted me by it. I am a stickler for good customer service and this salon knocked it out of the park. While I do already have a nail salon that I like, and this place is a bit more expensive than that, I might be getting my next manicure here. Yes, their customer service won me over that much! I will update this review when I do. However, if you’re looking for a great experience to get your brows done, look no further!

I tried. I really wanted to love this place. The staff is really great, and my nail art was awesome both times. But I paid $ 57 for a GEL manicure. I think the first time was 40 something. But I paid EXTRA for the hard gel shine top coat whatever. Hoping to get some more longevity, since the first set seemed to self destruct at exactly two weeks. It hasn’t even been exactly a week and I just noticed I have a freakin chip in one– I leave in the morning for a 8 day work trip. I had better luck with my 30 dollar gel set at the Asian place. If you can afford a $ 50 dollar mani every week, kudos to you– I don’t have the time or patience.
Two strikes, you’re out.

After reading all the great reviews I feel bad for not giving 5 stars! Don’t get me wrong that store front is awesome, super clean and they offer food and drinks which is very nice!
My disappointment lies in the lack of polish colors– they only carry one brand which I have never heard of. I get acrylic with gel polish. Website says 40 $ for a fill and I was charged 42 $. I get its only 2 bucks. But still. I am SUPER picky about my nail shape and I figured for 40 $ for a fill they would be perfect. The acrylic is uneven in spots and my nails are all different shapes.
Another thing– I am a young mom and cannot always find someone to watch my infant. He was a perfect angel the whole time but I still felt super awkward having him there due to the vibes the employees were giving. I probably won’t go back.

Great salon and staff. Cute, friendly, hip, and most of all, an excellent real service. Happened upon Hello Birdie because I had driven by and liked the look. On a whim, decided to try to get a last minute mani for New Years Eve. I snagged the last appointment the day before. Ashley J did my mani and I was so happy. She did an amazing job, she’s sweet, pleasant, and most of all, my mani is still on 1 week later. That has NEVER happened to me in my life!!! It’s time for a re do however, I was so thrilled to have it last that long. She was honest and said she didn’t expect the crystals would last long on natural nails and a regular mani. I was fine for them just to last 1 night. I lost 1 after 3 days. Heck, I still have 2 left after a week. I will return and am anxious to try a pedi here next!!! Thank Ashley J. You rock!!!

What an awesome find in North Park! I’m very picky when it comes to getting my mani-​pedi since I’m a germ-​o-​phobe and I hear stories of salons that are not sterile. Not this place! My husband and I came here for our pre-​wedding mani-​pedis. Hubby got a mani-​pedi with no polish and I got a mani-​pedi with gel French tips and silver lining.
We were offered soft drinks, beer or wine to start and we were led to the bar to get our nails started. Ashley worked on my mani and Maria worked on my pedi. Both are very professional, experienced and super sweet! My work took the longest with it taking an hour and a half for both to be done due to the Gel application. Came out beautiful and everything was so sterile! All tools came out of sealed packets and I was put at ease.
Lots of great eateries nearby so after you get your nails done, take a stroll for some good grub. Remember ladies, if you get our pedi, bring your flip flops! I totally forgot and they provided me with disposable flip flops to wear out. They provide validation if the parking is super busy at the nearby structure.

LOVE this place and LOVE Dulci! Hello Birdie is amazing. I’ve gotten a couple manicures and pedicures here and every time not only do my nails look perfect, the experience is so much fun. Everyone that works at Hello Birdie is so sweet, upbeat, and down to earth. They offer you a drink during your service (they have many choices from champagne and wine to juices, etc) which for me, is beyond awesome and feels like extra pampering! Who doesn’t like some champs to sip while getting your nails done?! Props Hello Birdie. The nail techs at the salon are all very good at what they do, and really care that you are happy with your results. I am so happy they opened up in North Park. Thanks for always doing a great job on my nails Dulci! :)

Great service! Great nails, great coffee and great staff. I’m a wayward nail salon goer because it’s intimidating. Hello birdie was very approachable. The tech made sure I got what I wanted. Not to mention her Valentino hand rest and fume eater erased my limp wrist pain I usually endure afterwards. Great place! #nailsonpoint
