Established in 1984.

Gwen Couture started as a custom design company in 1984 and has grown to encompass a fabric retail store as well as sewing instruction lab. We showcase local design talent and strive to support those with a passion for the sewing arts. We intend to bring the process full circle — from the beginning inspiration to the final product.

Gwen Couture ~ a creative collaborative which brings your fashion visions to fruition. Gwen Couture crafts quality clothing specializing in designer sportswear, evening attire as well as bridal. Established in La Jolla in 1984, we have had the pleasure of providing our clients with their favorite wardrobe pieces. Working one on one we can tailor fit, fabric, and style without compromise.

We have collected many beautiful silks, linens, travel knits and specialty fabrics to inspire the seamstress in all of us. Many more fabrics are available for special order. In addition to our fabrics we carry a full line of notions and beautiful buttons to complete your projects.
